I din see any improvements in my skin after using half a tube...face still have outbreaks and really oily. Dun like the greasy texture too. EDITED: Tried using it again this time as I have extremely sensitive skin that is prone to outbreaks...surprisingly, this time, it made my face matt, no oily feeling and smoothen the skin texture...also sped up healing of scars and also reduce pimples size! I'm using the cleanance gel, moisturizing lotion and anti shine regulating lotion with this treatment. Works to treat my zits!
I do not generally have spotty skin, but ocassionally have breakouts and was hoping this would clear them up quickly. However, it actually made the breakouts worse-apart from stinging when I applied it, I started to get pimples on my cheeks and they usually never come up there. It is also not suitable for use during the day if you plan to use foundation, it flakes and goes lumpy as soon as you start to blend the foundation. For the price paid-almost £10, I was not impressed. Neutrogena clean and clear is much more effective and costs a mere £3.75 for 50mls.
This product took some time to build on me. I bought it for my acne prone skin after a particularly bad breakout when I couldn't find Diacneal(which was my first choice) in Malaysia. My initial impression was that it made my skin uncomfortable, with a slight prickly feel. Also did not make make up a pleasurable experience, as it balled up my foundation and made it unblendable.Thought I had bought another overrated product!
Two weeks after following Dan's regimen for acne treatment, I am a convert! I apply Cleanance K only at night now (Not suitable for daytime for people who use make up) after waiting 15 minutes for my Neutrogena Clear Spot BP treatment to sink in. I find it a really good exfoliator. One night, 2 hours after applying, I was rubbing my face gently when I found loads of white flakes peeling from my face. I continued rubbing gently over the spots where I applied Cleanance K (forgot to apply it on my nose), and all of them were peeling (except for my nose, so I know it WAS my skin, and not the chemical effect of the BP and the Cleanance K. The peeling did not hurt, and after washing my face, I noticed glowing skin - the first time after following the regimen, which, although produced some satisfactory results in terms of clearing up my face, made my face appear dull and dry.
The next morning, I noticed that some of my old acne marks have faded. The effects are very slight - do not expect a miracle overnight, but I know it is working for me. It is a gentle product, which does not overly irritate your skin . It also has AHA and BHA! Just remember to use a moisturiser with SPF after Cleanance during day time, as the new skin will not tolerate the sun well. I use Eucerin Protective UV White Facial Cream with SPF 15 during the day time.
Avene, how I love thee!!
After 6 months of hormonal acne (came off my pill to give myself a break - big mistake!!), mostly on my chin, I was getting ready to give up. I had tried so many things (Khiel's blue herbal line, Mario Badescu - which only works on proper juicy spots, philosophy, Paula's Choice, Olay, Nivea, and more), none of them had any lasting results and I was ready to give up. Now, I've known about Avene for some time now, as my husband uses it on occasion for his eczema, but I never associated it with Acne care. Since I had shown some improvement with the Paula's Choice 2% BHA liquid, I was looking for something with BHA but suitable for 30+ skin. I didn't want to pay the extortionate price to get PC here (it's in the UK, shipping from the Netherlands was expensive), but then read the tube on this and saw that it had both AHA and BHA. It's only £9, so I thought I'd give it a go. Boy, am I ever glad I did! The first night I used this I felt a slight discomfort, not really a stinging sensation, more like very slight burning. But I rode it out, and went to bed. Wow, when I woke up my spots we dramatically reduced, with zero redness. And it just kept getting better. Now, when I feel any discomfort, I just very lightly mist my skin with the Avene thermal water and it feels so much better. It's been a week now, and I have no active spots - just smooth skin! This is complete Holy Grail material for me, a claim I've never been able to make before. I've had no dry spots, just smooth skin.
I wouldn't use this during the day, as I can't see that it would make a very nice m/u base. This works best at night, where it can be left undisturbed to do it's job. Highly recommended!!
This is my emergency remedy when my skin is acting weird - it helps to make spots and blemishes disappear and provides an overall smoother skin with refined pores. It contains AHA and BHA and so peels the skin slightly without being too harsh. When my skin was really bad, I got results with this within a few days and I keep one in my skincare drawer ever since! Recommended for night use, since it is not supposed to act as a base for foundation.
i didnt notice too much of a difference on "purifying" blemished skin but it did seem to make my skin smoother in texture. terrible makeup base as it makes my mineral makeup pill up. :( returning and will not buy again
I've used it for 10 days in a row and itdried out all my pimples. My skin is also generally looking clearer. Bad thing is that it makes you skin sore.
I got a sample of this in a swap and now use it regularly. I apply it to my nose after my prescription acne medication, and at times it does sting, but along with other products that I use regularly (Neutrogena blackhead eliminating masque, Neutrogena acne mark fading peel, QHMJM), it really helps with my blackheads--I ran out of this for a while, and wasn't seeing the results as when I was using it. My blackheads will kind of come to the surface of the pore and turn red/brown in color; within a few days, they're gone. If you have dry/sensitive skin, I'd try a sample first before investing.
I really wanted to like this product. I have been struggling with finding a good skincare regimen. I bought the soapless cleanser & this lotion together. After just 2 days I got small tiny red bumps all over my cheeks & forehead. With all the products I have used & believe me I¡¯ve tried a lot I never got this kind of horrible reaction!!!
Its supposed to be for sensitive acne prone skin but the smell is really over powering. Also, can¡¯t use this in the day time coz it flakes when you put on makeup.
Still like the cleanser but I will be returning this. Now I just hope the reaction goes away.
