I really really wanted to love these. They do get the job done. They do remove your make up... but I end up with a burning sensation on my face. One night before bed my daughter and her friend were watching a movie, and I decided to clean my face before I feel asleep. They girls both asked for one. They both complained about the same thing. They had a burning sensation on their faces.
I love this stuff it’s the best wipes I've used. Leaves your face clean and super soft, to the point where I have to stop myself from touching my face. And NO greasy feeling! Even my fiancé loves them, every time I take one out, he wants one to! I have oily skin and acne prone these wipes help with all that. I love to use them on my home from work, they give cool refreshing feeling. Feels like a little mini spa escape. The smell, for me, isn't strong it smells just like cucumbers, hence the name. But the true incentives of this product is that there're 98.7% natural, alcohol-free, they were designed for sensitive skin (which my skin can defiantly be) also the wipes are natural cloth and biodegradable, but most important of all Cruelty Free, No animal testing!!
I wanted to find some makeup removal and cleansing wipes for my face. My mom had some Yes To Carrots products so I went to Target and checked out the Cosmetics section and the Yes To section. I have seen this multiple times before so I decided to buy the Yes To Cucumbers Face Cleanser Towelettes. I love the scent of cucumbers but this scent was a little bit different probably because of the minerals so the scent is not my favorite. I used it for the first time this morning and they got all my makeup off my face!
I bought these at a recommendation of a friend. Although I am a freelance makeup artist and have tons of MAC wipes (my preference) I felt sort of guilty using them when not removing tons of makeup, like it was a waste of product. I like the thickness of the towelette, and how big it is, but I just cannot get over the smell! I get pretty nauseated by it, which stinks since it really does leave my face feeling moisturized and wonderful. I definitely do not have a very sensitive nose/gag reflex either - almost no product has It also didn't remove all my eye makeup, after thoroughly rubbing it still left big smudges of mascara behind. I like these enough to keep using them, and hopefully I'll get used to the smell. If that doesn't bother you, these are a steal for $6.
Let me preface by saying that I am addicted to using wipes, and ONLY wipes, at night. I wear a light-medium amount of makeup (Chanel powder fdtn, waterproof eyeliner, mascara) and this takes off everything including the eyes. I have tried Korres (Pomegranate as well as Milk Proteins), Neutrogena (HATE!), Pond's, and a couple of store brands. While I absolutely LOVE the Korres ones, they are double the price for fewer wipes and the packaging is horrendous (they have the standard sticky flap, and tend to dry out even when kept in a ziploc bag). I did NOT enjoy the grease slick on my face after using Neutrogena and Pond's, and was not a big fan of the other generic ones I used (can't remember what store). These are fabulous as far as I am concerned. They work just as well as the Korres (more similar to the Pomegranate ones)...maybe better. They leave me totally clean with no need or desire to rinse, but they also don't strip my skin. I'll always need to moisturize, but these don't exacerbate that need. They do sting my eyes and cheeks a tiny bit, but that happens literally every time I use anything that exfoliates...and my normal moisturizer takes care of it immediately and it turns to a nice, cooling sensation. I personally love the smell. I liken it to putting a few cucumber slices in a glass of ocean water...I guess the Dead Sea minerals are what give it the saline smell I detect. I actually like the slight roughness of the wipe, as I feel like these have a more exfoliant property than the others I have tried. My skin is clear and glowy with these, and the price is definitely right. Add to that the relatively wonderful ingredient list and you have a winner in my book! UPDATE:: 10/18/11: still using and still loving. A definite HG product. I even bought the travel/sample size packs to put in the bathrooms at my wedding last month and they were a hit. I even saw my great aunt pull out a pack of her own at the beach to clean up her face before heading home. :) It's hard to believe that something that requires no water or "soap" can clean so well, but these do!
I love these wipes! Theyre my favorite. Ive tried other makeup remover wipes such as Neutrogena, Clean and Clear, and ELF and these are by far the best. They remove all my makeup, over coarse i have to go over my mascara a little more but thats expected since my mascara is like glue lol. Whats best of all, theyre oil free. Doesnt make my face oily at all! Unlike other makeup remover wipes that leave an oily residue on your face. These make your face feel clean and refreshed. And theyre 98% natural which is really good so you know your not putting alot of harmful product on your face. Also they smell amazing, just like cucumber. Love them. Would definetly recommend these, and definetly suggest them for people with oily skin. :)
These are awesome face wipes! The packaging is great, it has a flip top instead of the adhesive flap that most face wipes have, and it gets annoying when you're not even half way through and the wipes are dried out. These stay moist for the duration. The ingredients include aloe vera, cucumber, green tea, and dead sea minerals, which are all really great for the skin. The wipes smell like fresh cut cucumbers. I've never had a problem with these burning my eyes, but I don't have particularly sensitive eyes. These wipes leave my face so soft and smooth, and it takes most of my eye makeup off too (I still like to go over with some eye makeup remover afterwards). Great product, the fact that they are 98.7% natural and cruelty free is a plus!
After one of my favorite beauty bloggers posted a rave review of these, I decided to give them a try. I'm horrible at taking my makeup off at night, so I'm always looking for something quick and easy. First of all, the packaging is pretty good... about the same as most other cleansing wipes I've used. The product itself is ok. They aren't as soft as I would've liked, but they do remove makeup pretty well. I wear Estee Lauder Double Wear underneath powder, blush, bronzer, and then my eyeshadow/liner/mascara is another story. One wipe took off everything but my mascara, which I think is pretty good, but I did have to work at it. Unfortunately, the scent is what has kept me from using them. They smell nice before being used, but the after-scent is funky... like burning cucumbers or something. I don't like going to bed smelling stuff on my face unless it's a really pleasant scent. I'm not sure if I'll finish the pack of wipes or not. If I do, I'll probably end up having to rinse my face off after I use them, which to me kind-of defeats the purpose of cleansing wipes. If anyone can recommend good wipes for oily/sensitive skin, please let me know.
Love the packaging. flip top which is plastic and a back up sticker over the opening. the wipe is SUPER SOFT. love that . unlike alot of other reviewers these DO NOT burn my eyes. removes my make up including cream liner and (most) of my mascara. soooo disapointed and gonna blame my nose bcuz these are by far my fav wipes ive tired yet but after im done it leaves my face smelling like..well baby wipes !cheap !babys bottom face! if u can stand the smell get them.
Seriously it felt like i was rubbing sand paper on my eyes! My eyes were so red after using these. The smell was nice but i will never get these again!
