After reading the reviews here, I knew I had to check out this liner. Even now that I own it, I'm still in disbelief over it. Why haven't other m/u companies made liquid liner like this?!?! The tip is pointed perfection!! I use it almost every day because it gives my eyes definition without being overpowering. I adore it! If this came in purple I would probably be in eyeliner heaven. Yes, it's a bit pricey. I'm not sure how long it will last, either, because there's no way of telling how much product is left, but I can definitely see myself shelling out the $18 again to keep lining my eyes with such precision.
HG liquid liner. Just a bit expensive for me as a poor college student, at $17 from Sephora :( I bought it when they sent out the $15 coupon codes, so I got it for a nice bargain, I'm just so scared when this will run out!
Only gripe is that when you first apply it it seems a bit watery, but as you go over it a few more times it seems to darken considerably. Doesn't budge once you put it on, lasts me from a good 7AM - 11PM at night.
Best liquid eyeliner I've ever used! It's got such a nice fine tip for any kind of line, thin or thick. I have it in Trooper and its a very deep black. The best part is it stays on ALL DAY and its nearly water/smudge proof! I used to use Almay liquid liner but the brush wasnt thin enough and despite how much it said smudgeproof, i wasnt sold. Its a bit pricey for 18 dollars but it's totally worth it. This is the best eyeliner I've ever used and I will swear by it!
I really like this super inky black liquid liner in a smart, efficient pen. The pen dispenses the liquid evenly when I press it on/draw across my eyelid. The brush is flexible for comfort and ease or use, but still firm for maximum control, and its tip is sharp enough to draw wings (though I do have to go slowly and lightly to get a truly fine point to my wing).
I have probably used this liner for over 2 months, over 20 times, and have not once had a problem with the liquid dispensing; it hasn't dispensed too much or too little at a time, and it has dispensed every time I use it. It's like using a Sharpie with very fluid ink. It hasn't gotten any drier since I've opened it.
I did knock off a point because it will smudge by the end of an 8-hour day even with UDPP and eyeshadow underneath the liner (though I do have hooded and oily eyelids). It seems waterproof, but not oilproof since it comes off on my lids after a while.
I got this at the same time as LORAC's Front of the Line Pro, which is a *very* similar product (the ingredients list was [almost?] exactly the same), but I returned the LORAC because the LORAC seemed to smudge just a little bit sooner than the Kat Von D did. I'm not sure if it really does or if my makeup application was off on those days, but in any case, the LORAC does not outperform the Kat Von D.
Wish it came in other colors (purple? soft black?).
Having prior bad experiences with other brands, such as drying too slowly and awful brush design, I was put off liquid liner for a while. Having read so many positive reviews on this, I decided to buy it and see for myself. First of all, it's so easy to use. Its pen-shape fits my grip comfortably, and it's easy to control. The brush tip lets you control whether you want to draw the finest line, or a thicker one. Personally, I have very shaky hands, but with this I was able to make perfect cat eyes. And when Kat named this the tattoo liner, she wasn't kidding. It stays put all day, even after humidity and rain. But it comes off so easily and gently with makeup remover, or lotion if you're on-the-go. I would not repurchase, though, just because $20 for not enough product is barely worth it. It only lasted me about two months before running out. =/ I also don't particularly like how shiny it dries. Personally, I like my matte black.
I really like this liner, it is everything I expected Mac's Penultimate to be.
I have it in Trooper. I love the design, it makes you feel like you're holding a pencil, but then you have the nice brush that's so easy to use, it makes the application a breeze!
I can get a thin or thick line, depending on the look I'm going for, and the way the brush is designed, it's very easy to wing out the line for a cat-eye. The color is a nice deep black, and it stays put until you take it off.
It looks a tiny bit sharpie-like, because it's a very precise firm line, not a bit smudgy like a pencil liner, but if you go over it with your eye shadow, it looks really great.
I hope they come up with more colors, because using this liner is a pleasure!
I agree with all the other reviewers, this eyeliner is the BEST! Easy to use, pretty much mistake proof and long lasting. Now just waiting for Tatoo liner to be offered in all the colors available in Kat's Autograph line, I'll buy 'em all!
This is the epitome of HG. It's super easy to apply because, as someone mentioned, it feels just like a pen in your hand. I've used many many liquid liners, and I've never been able to get such a thin line before. Trooper is a rich, saturated black that goes on dark enough the first stroke, so less chances for mess ups. Also, I amazingly can use it without primer potion, and it still stays on my ultra oily lids -- a MAJOR accomplishment. I never in a million years would have thought to try out Kat von D, so thank you, MUA reviewers!
Hands down THE BEST liquid eyeliner I've EVER used -- and I've used quite a few. The ease of using the pen applicator is second to none. I get a perfect flicked out line every time. Trooper is jet black and dries quickly and evenly, and never smudges once it's on. Cleans up easily with makeup remover. This is a must for anyone who likes to do "cat eye" liner -- it is so incredibly easy and fast to do eyeliner with this. I'm hooked.
I was lemming for this for a really long time after I read the reviews here but it's kinda pricey for an eyeliner. I caved in and I don't regret it! The eyeliner liquid is distributed equally within the whole brush/point and you can even use the very tip of the liner for extra precision. I love this! The staying power is amazing, especially since I have very oily lids and my small crease doesn't help other eyeliners stay where I want them to be. The tattoo eyeliner works perfectly.
