This is my go to everyday foundation, maybe for the past 5 years. Has never broken me out. Good coverage, not too thick or cakey. Looks pretty natural on me, I have to set with powder even though its mattifying, I'm super oily. Until I find something better this is my fave foundation.

For now this is my HG foundation.
The Good: Covers well, buildable color, color range, decent price, bottle lasts a long time, great for oily skin, doesn't give me breakouts
The Bad: Dries fast so need to blend quickly, it's a squeeze bottle
Bottom line: Excellent foundation. Works well for oily skin and creates a nice matte finish. Can easily layer brozer over foundation without caking. I will definately keep using this as my primary foundation!
Extra tip- if you have a beauty blender sponge, moisten the sponge and use it to blend the foundation. Leaves skin looking FLAWLESS!

I am in LOVE with this foundation! Its color is perfect! ( i am MAC NW20 and use shade #30 for mufe). It doesnt look cakey at all but provides excellent coverage. I have current breakouts aswell as dark, acne scars and slight redness around different areas of my face. I usually get oily around four hours after applying my makeup, but this can easily be fixed by using oil blotting sheets to bring my face back to a MATTE finish. Overall, excelent coverage, great shade selection, lasts all day easy to blend! I will never use another foundation!

This foundation is AMAZING. Fantastic coverage, good color range, easy to blend and it lasts. My skin tone isn't the easiest to match as it has a lot of pink undertones that aren't the most obvious. I use shade 30 and I'm a pretty light skinned, freckled strawberry blond. I have combination skin and unlike a lot of foundations, I don't feel that this foundation draws attention to my dry areas. Big plus. I've found stippling works best with this foundation. I'd prefer it to be packaged in a pump bottle, but the bottle it comes in isn't awful. It's not the cheapest at $34, but it's worth it.

Wow, I didn't think it could get any better than the MUFE HD foundation but it definitely has. As much as I love the HD foundation, it made me a little oily on my t-zone, still a great foundation though!
On one of my trips to sephora, I decided to get a sample of the mat velvet. I wasn't even sure I would even like it, I thought it would look too matte on me.
I tried it and I instantly loved it, the coverage was flawless! I didn't even need to apply powder. I checked my makeup a couple hours later and it still looked flawless, no oily t-zone! This foundation also photographs beautifully. I can't wait to wear this more.
For reference, I have a combination skin (normal except oily in my t-zone) I am also a NC40/NC42 in Mac and the #55 matched me very nicely.
This has taken the place of what I thought was my HG foundation. I'm so glad I found this! Its going to be great for summer.

I don't like this foundation, it was a bit too dry for my oily combo skin, also it does emphasize any dry patches on your skin so it won't be great for winter. But maybe it works well in very hot humid weather. Oil control is ok but still need to blot after 3-4 hours. I will try the HD foundation next time but need to wait when I go on overseas because this brand is not selling in New Zealand yet :-(

Pros:
-amazing coverage
- amazing lasting-power
-I do not need concealer on top of the light hyper pigmentation and small acne scars along the sides of my face.
-great color selection!
-I can mix with any of my other foundations without irritation or problems with texture
-does not oxidize!
-can be worn with or without a powder and still look finished

HOWEVER
All that being said, I really do not like to wear this foundation just as it is. If you want a very, very matte look to your skin then this would be perfect. I personally prefer if there is some sort of satin/natural finish to my foundation so that there is more dimension to my face and a more natural finish.

hmmm...which leads me to mixing my foundations!
No, this is not ideal. However, if I have a long day this foundation is the one that will hold up. I prefer to it EL Double Wear because of the color selection and lack of oxidization. And the feel is just so much lighter on my skin!

I usually mix with one of these if I have an 8+ hr day:
Chanel Vitalumiere
Shiseido Sun Protection liquid Foundation

Application:
You could use your fingers, but I prefer a brush. I have a few mac brushes, an EL brush, Clinique brush, the Sephora #55 HD airbrush, but I definitely prefer my E.L.F flat top brush! I just can't believe how well that cheap brush works at applying my foundation.

On long days where I have mixed my foundations I'll use my Sephora #55 to top it with some MUFE HD powder...just a little though!

I am on the hunt for a new foundation. I have oily, acne-prone skin with large pores so I'm always searching for my HG foundation. I've been trying this foundation for 5 days now using Color: # 30. This foundation dries to a matte finish quickly, does shows pores but breathable makeup, not clay mask face look, and did get oily in 3 hours but after I 'reapplied powder after 3 hours of wearing my face looked good again. I guess the only thing that really bothered me was I felt it did not absorb into my face, it sort of ‘sat on top of my skin’. I have a few lil dry area from time to time from Retin-A use and it really shows those dry patches also. My morning routine: (put tinted sunscreen, then Avon primer, then concealer, then foundation, powder, etc.) so it's not like I'm not doing all the other steps in order to get my face 'ready' for foundation because I always do. Obviously, I still haven't found my HG foundation yet but hopefully, I will soon.

I'm giving this stuff a 5 because it does EXACTLY what it says it does - it totally mattifies. I could put this on in the morning and have NO oily t-zone during the day - I've never had no oily t-zone all day long. I LOVED constantly checking my face and there was no oil! But - it just looked too cakey on my skin. I'm blaming it on my age (41) and that my skin's just getting drier and this foundation didn't look so good on it - but man it was nice to have no oil during the day...I can't believe I'm turning down a foundation that can do that for me! I'd say it's a definate to try if you're looking for something to stop the oilies and see how it looks on you.

i love this product. this foundation is very expensive in my eyes and before i tried it i did not believe in spending that much money on something that would be used up in a little over a month. if you are worried that you wont like it ask the people at sephora for a sample. i did and i repurchased it as soon as i was done. and my sample lasted like 2 weeks. it did not break out my acne prone skin and it controls my oil. it dries to a matte powder finish and covers pimples so well! i honestly dont know how i survived with out this product and now i realize that i should spend more money on what goes onto my face. high end foundations make all the difference. do yourself a favor and invest in an expensive foundation!
