I recently B2M'd for this and I am quite happy I did. Usually, I favor warm lippies on my fair yellow undertoned skin, but the light mauve and pearlescent finish of Syrup somehow works for me b/c Syrup is actually a shade darker than my natural lips. A true my lips but better.. I find the texture of Syrup creamier than other lustres I have, but it doesn't last any longer. When it wears off it leaves a nice stain. This ls is a perfect throw it on daily ls that doesn't need maintenance or even a mirror to apply. Perfect w/ Shu P Purple 05B blush.

This is a cloudy pink lipstick in a lustre finish. It is a perfect, neutral, everyday pink lipstick. Usually I dislike the lustre finishes, but I make an exception for this one. It is an absolutely gorgeous color, and looks great paired wit neutrals or vibrant colors. I will definitely be stocking up on this one.

I love the lustre formula it's so moisturizing and makes your lips look wet without gloss! I bought this because I wanted something with a plum look without making my lips look violet. If you're going for a natural look and this hint of mauve with dusty rose it PERFECT. I wear it almost all the time in the office whenever wearing light gray suit, lavender dress shirt, etc. It looks good when pink or red lipsticks screams clown...or you're going for a softer look. However I don't wear a lipliner but if you were to pair it up with Soar it'll look more deeper in mauve/dusty rose.
Even with my super red pigmented lips this stuff still shows a hint of purple. My momma loves it too :)
I said i would repurchase but i doubt i'll run out. this stuff is lasting for a while! Highly recommend for the girls who like to 'au naturel' look or tone down for the office.

I LOVE this lipstick! Lovely quality, FANTABULOUS, subtle dark/nude colour, and quite sheer. I didn't find it particularly "lustre" like. It's just perfect over DuWop Neutral lip pencil in Neutron. If I have one "complaint" it's that I have to keep reapplying it as it doesn't last too long on me.
One day with this lipstick and you will wonder what you ever did without it! This is by far one of my favorite lipsticks ever, and definitely one of my favorite MAC lipsticks. The color is a gorgeous cool mauvey pink, and while the finish is Lustre, it appears to have much less frost than my other Lustre lipsticks. To me, this is the lipstick version of my beloved Electro-Lush lipglass - and looks just as creamy on the lips, except without the high watt shine. I am very fair skinned and this gives my face a very "done" look even with no other m/u - like most other gals have stated, it's a perfect YLBB color. I feel it adds just a little more punch to my skin tone though, since it's so fair. As the day wears on, the lipstick remains creamy and keeps my lips moist. No lipstick lasts forever, so it does come off a bit as the hours wear on, but as it fades, since it's such a natural looking shade, I don't get that annoying lipliner look - even though I don't wear lipliner! It stays put really well with just drinking too, but reapplication is necessary after eating. However, this is a shade I feel comfortable with just applying on the fly - no mirror necessary! - so, it's easy to re-swipe without even getting up to go to the restroom. This is a HG shade for sure, and I will forever be repurchasing!
I got a MAC lipstick a while back (Vivacious) but I had never tried it out, so when I finally did try it out I was so blown away I just had to dash out and get another MAC lipstick, this time in a more nudish everyday kind of colour, so I got this, so I could wear it everyday without looking like I was wearing lipstick (I don't like the lipstick look). I love MAC lipsticks, I never used high end lipsticks before because I always thought, after all it's just lipstick, it's only good for a couple of hours until the next meal anyways. But absolutely every d/s lipstick I have ever tried without fail left me with dry, cracked dehydrated lips. I got so tired of always having dry, cracked lips that I stopped using lipstick. I didn't expect high end lipsticks to be any different. Well so wrong! You really do get what you pay for. MAC lipsticks are just sooooooooooo moisturizing and smooth and creamy, they feel like a lip balm which is the reason why I wanted to get one in a nude colour to begin with, to use it like a lip balm to condition my lips with minimal colour. Unlike some d/s lipsticks which I've tried which do feel moisturizing and creamy while I am wearing them, but when I take them off I find that they have left me with dry, cracked dehydrated lips anyways, MAC lipsticks continue to give me smooth and moist feeling lips even when the lipstick is gone. As for the colour Syrup, well I got it because it is very similar to the real colour of my lips. Yes I really do have such bothersome bright pigmented purple lips! A real hassle when I want a nude lip because with such naturally vibrant lips the nude, beige lip look is totally impossible for me. But since Syrup is such a close match it looks like a nude lip for me.
GORGEOUS!! HG for sure! I've been lemming this for forever and finally got it after trying numerous drug store dupes. It is beautiful. The texture is silky and not sticky, the coverage is perfect - not too opaque or sheer. The color is a beautiful rosey mauve with a hint of lilac. Definitely MYLBB. Will repurchase forever!
A lovely, YLBB lip color. It's a natural looking shade of pink, and I believe it would be flattering on a wide range of skin tones. I have a medium complexion and, for me, this is the perfect pink lipstick. It works with any eye makeup you do, so it's a good color to have around if you're ever in doubt. You can never go wrong with this shade. I love the slight vanilla scent it has, too. And, as for the texture of the lipstick, it's deliciously smooth and creamy- absolutely perfect.

When I was a fledgling MA many moons ago, a trusted mentor told me to buy this lipstick because it would hold me in good stead. And you know, he was right - this lipstick was the Holy Grail of lipsticks when I used to do weddings, it's still my Holy Grail for bridal fashion shoots, editorial shoots ("We need a nice natrual lip, but, y'know, better than natrual") and for any work that requires a pretty, fresh and natrual-but-better lip.
Syrup is a MAC lipstick in a Lustre finish (sheer to semi opaque with a natrual to gloss-like finish), and is one of the more opaque Lustre lipsticks. MAC describe it as 'cloudy pink', I'd be inclined to call it a dusty, muted pink with slight lilac undertones. It has no frost, glitter, sparkles or pearling.
The picture above is representative of Syrup applied with a brush onto an unlined, medium-pink lip. The touch of lilac cancels out any brown or beige tones on the lip, allowing the pinkness of the lipstick to accentuate and promote a natrual pink lip. For those who say that this is a purple lipstick, maybe you're applying too much? Try applying it with a brush and cut down on the amount of product you're applying - any lipstick with a mauve or lilac undertone is going to look unpleasant if you really pile it on. Otherwise look at the lipliner you're wearing with it, and try Syrup with another colour of lipliner or go without it entirely. The colour wears surprisingly well on unlined lips.
Would I repurchase this lipstick? Oh, god yes. I've gone through about six of them in two years, and it never fails to be the right lipstick for the right situation. This is one of those staple colours - you might not sing about it from the rooftops, but it'll be an old faithful product that you go back to time and time again.
