I bought a Ped Egg on a whim after reading a review or two here on MUA and then seeing a display of them at Linens 'N' Things when I was buying a shoe rack (I'm a hopeless impulse buyer). I'd actually never seen a commercial for the Ped Egg (and still haven't to this day), so it was an even bigger impulse buy than if I'd heard of it and then decided to try it on the spur of the moment. I've had horrible problems with severely dry, deeply cracked and painful heels almost my entire life and I've tried just about every sort of file on the market (I only stopped short of the callous shavers because the idea of using a razor blade on my feet freaks me out), so I thought this was worth a shot.

On the plus side, the Ped Egg is easy to hold and maneuver and it's nice that it catches all the dead skin flakes (as long as you're holding it the right way around which isn't always comfortable or even possible and as soon as you turn it over, it starts sprinkling onto the floor). I did get reasonably good results with the Ped Egg, better than many flat files that I've tried, but they weren't spectacular. I also liked that it includes a built in buffer, which is helpful when using this kind of file because it tends to leave ragged skin edges.

On the negative side, it's nearly impossible to always hold the Egg the right way around to trap the shavings without contorting your body into weird positions and/or holding the Egg awkwardly.

The Ped Egg isn't bad by any means, and I even think it's probably worth the $10 I paid for it, but I vastly prefer my Diamancel Foot Rasp #20 that I got a few days after the Ped Egg. It makes my feet smoother, softer and doesn't leave ragged edges or uneven areas. It was more expensive and doesn't have the nice ergonomic shape, but I use it every day instead of my Ped Egg, which is sitting in its package gathering dust now. continued >>

I had been wanting one of these for a while and was lucky enough to come across the pink one that was created to support breast cancer research at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. In short, I love it! I had let my feet go and it showed (despite the occasional pedicure)--they are especially bad in the summer when all I wear is flip-flops and they are exposed to dirt, heat, etc. (I live in the mountains). My feet are now considerably softer and back to what I consider "normal". I had used almost every foot manicuring tool I had and nothing was working. But the PedEgg came through and I couldn't be more pleased. And much like the previous poster, I couldn't resist showing my boyfriend all the nasty flakies that came off my foot--now if I could just get him to use it ! :~p

I purchased this in pink (couldn't resist) at BBB to support Breast Cancer. I love the way it makes my feet feel soft and smooth!! I have used it twice, but I think I used it too soon after the first time or either too aggressively because my big toe was bleeding after I finished. But who cares? It will heal, and the rest of my foot is so touchable! Be careful when using especially if skin is not extremely dry. I also put a towel under my feet to catch the dry skin that inevitably falls out of the egg. Yes, the dried skin it collects is gross, but I get a kick out of showing it to my husband. LOL

LOVE this!! I have used this product now 3 times and was waiting to see how it worked before writing my review.

Over the past few months, I have been diligently trying all sorts of lotions and treatments on my feet at night w/ socks and while a lot of them would keep my feet soft (thank you Nivea, Eucerin), none (not even AH or BH products nor the almost daily luffing in the shower) could get rid of the dead skin that had built up on my heels and the outer edge of my big toes - even my occasional pedicure could not completely rid me of these problematic areas.

Like many, I had seen the infomercial and completely dismissed Ped Egg as a waste of money. Enter MUA - read so many positive reviews, I thought - what the heck - what's $10? (Walgreens, Target) O BOY!! What a miracle product! I was a bit hesitant on 1st use, but lo and behold - say good bye to ALL the dead skin!!! I have soft heels and big toes!!

I do sit on the edge of my bathtub and perform this ritual over that tub because I have had 1 incident wherein the ped egg seperated and there was quite a white dust fall out, so better safe than sorry.

Product does exactly what it promises to do! Best $10 I ever spent!

I love this thing!! Just had my second baby so my feet have been pretty neglected through pregnancy. After using this thing for 5 minutes my feet feel like my daughter's! It may seem pricey at $10 but will save you loads on pedicures.

This little device is wonderful. I had very rough dry feet with lots of cracks. They went to baby smooth in 5 minutes using this little cheese grater device. And I've tried everything else. Lava rocks, foot files, nothing works as well as the Ped egg. A little pricey but I'm no longer embarrassed to go and get a pedicure. The horrified look on the girls face as she looked at my feet kind of discouraged me from going. After using it I put a nice thick lotion on and the change in my feet is truly a thing of wonder!!!! Definitely will be keeping blade refills in my medicine cabinet.

If your feet are calloused or rough, buy this. Use just enough masking tape to keep the lid on. If you have the opportunity, let your husband see you using it. When he inevitably asks "What are you DOING?" Tell him. When he gives you that "you're nuts" look, show him the contents and tell him that you put it on his pasta all the time and he seems to like it fine.
Now you have smooth feet and a husband who will think twice before he gets all up in your business. Or eats your pasta.

Seriously: As a dancer (NOT stripper...not that there's anything wrong with that), I have disgusting, gnarled, calloused feet. I have calluses on the tips of my toes. Very hot.

The Ped Egg works very well. I would best describe it as an extremely aggressive buffer. Unlike the credo knife, you don't have to light candles, pray, and tie up your affairs before use. It removes hard dry skin, but not one scary slice at a time.

I needed a new one (my second) and the one displayed by the register at the drug store was the "Man's" Ped Egg. It's black. Whatever. I figured it would be exactly the same otherwise but it's actually stronger. Just an fyi for those of you who, like me, can walk over broken glass without as much as a wince.

Another reviewer mentioned that these should come in cute colors and patterns. Rest assured, they will. Pretty soon TJ Maxxx will be packed to the brim with pink zebra fur covered Ped Eggs along with all the other crap destroying the earth. But I'm sure it will look absolutely gorgeous on the mantle.

This thing is pretty cool. My feet aren't too bad to begin with though I do have some roughness around the heels and my big toe. I went at my feet with this thing and was surprised by all the dry skin that it shaved off. Sounds gross.... but it works and my feet are now quite soft and smooth.

Best product ever used, but I think the price is bit much for 10$ it should come with additional blades. They could make it fun colours and patters. Would buy again and again. I have tried so many other methods to get rid of the dirty ugly dry heel and this works the best.
