MAC NC50 for reference. Purchased this in 216 which was a bit too light for me...218 would have been a better match. I really wanted to like this. I constantly had to play with the application...I used the applicator it came with, interchanging it with a powder brush. Sometimes it would go on soft and natural, other times harsh looking and cakey. I would put this on at about 7am in the morning, and within hours, my face would look like I was wearing no foundation. Absolutely no staying power whatsoever! Trying to reapply this throughout the day was disasterous..my complexion would just look uneven. For the price people pay for it, you'd think that there would be a lot more product than what it comes with. I will try with a primer if I decide to invest in this again.

This powder foundation is amazing! I picked up 200-Beige Opalescent which is a great match for my complexion. (reference I wear MAC NC15) I like that this has no pink tones, but the yellow isn't very strong and quite flattering. The coverage is medium to full, blends easily, and wears well throughout the day with just a few touch-ups around my t-zone. My complexion looks radiant, poreless, and almost airbrushed when I wear this powder. I have found that a decent primer really helps this foundation, both application and wear. So far I haven't had any issues with creasing, caking, fading, or skin irritation.

honestly, i really like this. i'm brand new to powder foundations but this is pretty good. it gives really good coverage for a powder, and it's super super convenient. right now, i apply with a kabuki and go over anything else with the sponge. i've also used this with a concealer brush to go over small areas and it worked wonderfully.
it holds off oil much longer then my liquids, which made me oily almost immediatley. but i still need to touch up with blot powder every few hours. overall, i don't mind.
it's very pigmented, so a little goes a long way. i got it in 201, and im an nw 20 or nc 25, depending.
the packaging isn't visually all that appealing but it does have a mirror and a seperate compartment with a sponge, so it's great practically speaking.
be aware, it does contain talc, mica, and dimethicone. i haven't had any problems with it but YMMV
overall it's a wonderful, quick summer foundation or just for people who don't have the time for liquid, i'd purchase this again.

I was really disappointed with this product. I have oily, acne-prone skin and from all the reviews I was hoping this would do the job. Unfortunately, it broke me out and made my face oilier. Plus, after a few hours it oxidized and looked muddy. I felt like I had a thick layer of grease on my skin. I returned it. I gave the product a 2 for coverage because, at the very least, it provided that.

I love the coverage this product gives, especially for being a powder foundation. Very nice and very high quality powder. Only downside is you go through a compact very quickly

I finally gave in and let one of the sephora staff recommend something for me (i prefer to do my own research usually).. I was hesitant to try this brand because its associations with stage makeup so i thought the coverage might be heavier than i needed. Anways, the duo mat foundation is great, when you test with your finger it looks sheer but on your face the powder is amazing natural looking, with enough opacity to even out your skin but maintaining its translucence underneath so you dont look flat/washed out. I wear shade 203, asian with fair skin.

This is my HG in powder foundations. I love love love this. I use this in the summer on my combo skin with some concealer under my eyes and around the corners of my nose. It provides medium to full coverage and never looks cakey. I would suggest applying this lightly around the under eyes with a powder brush so it won't crease.

WOW! amazing matte finish..absolutely flawless and poreless. excellent coverage and color match....202 is pretty dead on for me. i just ordered 201 as i'd like to mix them a bit. i even prefer this to my mac studio. love love love it! oh and did i mention that i have had absolutely no reaction to this....no bumps or breakouts. a definite keeper.....HG status.
EDIT: wanted to update as i have been using this faithfully now for a few months. be warned...runs out quickly. but oh...so beautiful. i will definitely be buying them up. pricy but woth it if you want gorgeous coverage and a nice matte finish.

If you apply in layers, you can build the coverage you want. It doesn't become cakey when you layer it like that. I have acne-prone skin (more in my T-Zone) and shininess in the T-Zone as well. This evens everything out really well. You just have to remember to layer it a few times to your liking. Don't use a brush, use the sponge. Your face is flawless in the end. Both my mom and I haven't found anything better than this yet! If you're not sure about it, ask the ladies at Sephora to put it on you and walk around the mall with it for a bit (they put it on you with fluffy brushes, however, and that does not cover as well as the sponge does). I have the Duo Matte #205 (a perfect medium for me) and it doesn't break me out. I believe it's oil-free.

I tried this for about a week or so before discontinuing use. I think this would look beautiful on girls with good skin, but it didn't have enough coverage or lasting power on my oily, acne-prone skin. It looked cakey in some areas and very oily in others and oxidized during the day. Good news was that it didn't break out my very sensitive skin!
