I was pretty excited about this foundation when i first got it since it was my first high end foundation, and don't get me wrong it is a good foundation, it has pretty good coverage. The problem is the colour range, i found that all the colours have a red undertone, and it looks really weird on someone like me who has yellow undertones ( but dark skin). Also, it is basically unblendable, this is one of those foundations that you have to blend into ur skin really fast, otherwise it will basically just try on the spot you put it. I also find that if u put too much it can feel a bit heavy. No problems with it becoming oily ( i would hope not since it is a mat foundation), so it does what it claims pretty much. I would say that unless u find your exact shade with this, dont buy it because you really can't blend it with another shade. If you do find your perfect match, I think you can be pretty happy with it, as it can be full coverage, and if applied correctly, and if you enjoy the mat look go for it. I also don't really love the packaging, since there is not pump and the whole is really small.

Very difficult to get in the UK and I wasn't sure about the color match. But I took a chance and ordered it. I really don't see anything positive about it. It doesn't go on nicely, it looks really fake, doesn't mattify and the coverage isn't so good, I still have to use concealer on my very slightly red marks. I'm still oily after an hour. It also doesn't last very long, I wore it with some powder & within 3 hours it looked awful, really cakey and it had sunk right into ever pore and line on my face (Yuck) First foundation I've used where my face actually looks worse with it on. The color wasn't really right for my skin, so that might be why it looked so fake but tbh, with everything it claims, I still wouldn't of been happy even if I had bought a shade lighter. All in all, I will not repurchase :(

I am crossing my fingers that this foundation does not break me out. I am in complete awe with this! First of all, the color I was matched to (#30) is a dead match to my skin. For the first time ever I don't even look like I have makeup on because it's literally the same exact color as me. I have VERY deep red acne scaring that covers both of my cheeks, so I usually really have to build up coverage with foundations. I put a small amount on my cheek and started to blend and I was shocked that that small amount covered my scaring completely. Absolutely no red shining through the foundation at all. I didn't have to sit there and build up coverage like I normally do. The second thing I noticed was that it dried so beautifully on its own & it had looked like I had already set it with powder when I didn't. The finish was absolutely beautiful. The third thing I noticed was that it doesn't feel at all like you have makeup on.Its very light feeling. It didn't look like it either but I'm sure part of that is because of the perfect color match. I'm VERY oily skinned and makeup usually melts off my face. So far I've had this on for 5 hours & no oil yet. This foundation is honestly heaven sent for me. It's no doubt a HG. I am seriously keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't break me out because I will never stop using this foundation.

Great foundation for those with very oily skin (I think it would probably be too drying if your skin is not too oily). From all foundations I've tried, this is by far the best in oil control. It lasts well in hot weather, too.
I love the coverage and the color selection is great, very wide.
It may be a little pricey, but I think it's not expensive as the tube lasts forever!!!

I love many products from MUF and was looking into buying this foundation for quite some time and never had the courage to spend so much on a base. This however was not the case. I tried it several times and EVERY single time I used it..... it caked!! It was horrible! I wore it w/a primer, I used different application brushes, even my fingers. IT CAKED, CAKED, CAKED! Not to mention every time I'd rub my nose gently, it would rub off. I was not a happy camper. I'd seriously stick to using something else.

I am somewhat satisfied with this product. Decent coverage and decent oil control... but I am still looking for something better. Just for reference I am pretty yellow-toned and wear NC 30. I bought this in Porcelain 30, and its a bit too pink for me. I just checked the Sephora website, did they add new shades?? I might try Natural Beige 40 if I ever repurchase this.

My main concern here is oil control and this is just alright. It is eons better than the HD Foundation but not as matte as Estee Lauder Double Wear. I consider my skin to be a bit on the oily side and I think I can last maybe 3-4 hours (this is during colder weather too, have yet to wear this in the heat) before I need a touch up which is great... but not good enough! I usually wear this with the Laura Mercier oil-free primer.

Mat velvet has maybe light to medium coverage? It goes on a bit sheer but covers more than you would expect -- its super great at evening my skin tone. Because it goes on a bit sheer, it means that this foundation looks very natural (even outdoors) so this is probably my favorite part about it. I use this with a foundation brush.

I don't like the packaging.. I can't see through the bottle and also the shade is not clearly listed on the bottle so I can never remember what shade I bought.

Overall this is decent for oil-control and doesn't make you look cake-y at all. I am still looking for something better but I wouldn't mind returning to this foundation.

I decided to purchase this after perusing reviews on here for something for oilier skin. It's been in the 80's recently and my Nars Sheer Glow (which is great for winter) has been melting off by 11 am and I'd been packing on the powder every few hours to combat the slick-shine. I'm also super pale with yellow undertones, and have a hard time finding foundations that work for me. I really am pleased with this stuff - MUFE's HD made me break out, which sucked because the color match was phenomenal. I'm using 20 and it looks nice. You do have to really work quickly but it lasts all day and has a nice finish. Not touching it up very much, do have to apply extra moisture to my non-t zone spots, but that's the trade off for less touch ups throughout the day. When I was *cough* younger and my skin was much oilier, I used to do the Milk of Magnesia mask to sop up the oil (suggestion from Paula B. - get the plain, unscented one, drugstore dupe will do) and it really works, for all the young chicks on here with super oily skin. Just apply with a cotton square, it's a bit runny, let it dry, wash it off. Sucks up oil. Just sayin' as a way to make this work and save some cash if you've already purchased and don't want to just toss it out.

I thought that this was going to change my makeup life. It did not however which is why I only gave it one star. I thought that this product was to thick, that it was un blend able, and that I looked scary when I was finished using it. I would not say that this is a good product for anyone who wants to look natural, or even like a normal person! The colors were odd and once I applied I couldn't blend into my neck and chin easily. It also oxidized to a sickly orange color by lunch! I ended up breaking out and feeling terrible about my skin for two weeks later. i returned to Sephora ASAP. The bottle seemed like as you got towards the end of the supply it would be hard to get out. I opted for NARS instead which went seamlessly into my skin. If you didn't like this try the NARS seriously.
