Love this color. Great for a smokey burgundy eye.
This color is a dark purple, with little glitters in it, but it's not shimmery. It's just matte with tiny, finely milled glitters, it's also a velvet finish. It is pretty dark, but with a light hand can be put on lighter. I would think that it would be WAY too dark to be used everyday. Boy was I wrong. This shadow can be used light or dark. So I say get this if you want an eyeshadow that can be used for a dramatic smokey eye, or a toned down eye.
I bought this during the free shipping promo, having never seen the color and not being exactly sure if it was even a tone I'd like. I love all things plummy-burgundy, so I figured this would be a great color to play with. On me it shows up a fleshy plum-brown. It's not as red-undertoned as I was hoping. I did need to add a sweep of my MAC Loverush blush to add some of the burgundy tones I was hoping for. I found this to go on a little splotchy and wasn't as heavily pigmented as I was hoping for, thus only 4 lippies, but it is a very user-friendly shade. This lacks some of the punch I was hoping for, so I'm kinda disappointed, it looks so neutral-brown on. I'm going to have to play with this more. I would repurchase simply for it's versatility but I have more flattering tones in my arsenal, Gabriel Color e/s in Aubergene is closer to what I was hoping for and I have been reaching for that over this.
Edit: Looked at this in another light, not so interesting. Just falls flat on me. Brought it down to a 3.
Haven't had a chance to play with this color too much yet. Very pretty deep burgandy/purplish color.
Sketch is a great color depending on how intense you want the color payoff. Been using this color since 2001. I don't use it on a daily basis, more for going out. I would definitely buy this again.
I bought this after reading rave reviews and am still not sure how I feel about it. It's not the worst, but it's also not the best in the world. Nice color pay-off, I'm just not sure that the color is what I was expecting. I wouldn't buy this color again. But it was worth a try...
Sketch is awesome! In the pan it looks dark burgandy/plum. You can sheer it out to a nice purple, or pack it on the crease and have a deep plum. It's gorgeous for us brown/green/hazel gals. This is becoming my HG crease shadow. I love pairing it with browns, golds, pinks, purples, plums, you name it! Easy to blend and makes for awesome jewel toned smokey eyes. This one is sexy girls.
This is such a beautiful shadow for brown eyed girls. I love it for both my dramatic and subdued looks. It's fabulous in the crease paired with Naked Lunch on the lid.
This is an amazing color. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it in the crease. It really makes my green eyes pop. If you pair it with pinks, it looks pink, if you pair it with purples, it looks purple. Looks great with browns too. I have been wearing it with All that Glitters on the lid and it's such a great combo. You have to try this one!
I'm obviously in the minority here, but this eyeshadow didn't live up to my expectations. I bought this because of all the rave reviews on here. When I apply it, the color looks like I have a bruise or black eye. It also doesn't seem to aply smoothly even with UDPP. It sort of settles into the superfine lines in my skin and looks like there is a layer of dirt on my eyelid.
and it looked so gorgeous in the pot...
