I tried a sample of this and you really can see the highlighting under makeup. I put it on my cheek bones and my nose. But a few hours later, I got a pimple on my nose. My nose never gets pimples unless I aggravate a blackhead or something. It was also very dry and tightening, my nose had cracks in it with this stuff on.
I suggest to only use it on the cheeks where the skin can't wrinkle up as much.
i'm really torn on this product.
i love the idea of it, and i love the sheen/glow it gives my skin, but it really doesn't hydrate me at all. It actually seems to dry out my skin more than anything, so i'm left with a beautiful sheen, but slightly patchy. Sadly this somehow has gotten lost so i never got a chance to try mixing it with foundation, which would really be beautiful, or for making cream blushes. but i would repurchase just to try it out for those things, it IS pricey though.
I absolutely love the look that the Strobe cream gives you.Its a soft but very nice and subtle healthy glow. Unfortunately I had to return mine after only using it a handful of times. It made my face break out horribly. I have never had acne (only slight hormonal breakouts) or any problems with any makeup products...ever! This was a first for me. I hope I find something that is comparable to this product, minus the ingredient that hates my skin:) I would reccommend it, but be careful to test in small areas first. If anyone has any alternatives, I would love to hear some.
When I use Strobe, I have to check my makeup in natural light, usually in my car mirror, to make sure it's not over the top day-glow. Sometimes it looks like the shimmer settles into my pores or emphasized them more... It's one of those impulse purchases that I regret.
I LOVE STROBE CREAM.
It is moisturizing and gives such a natural, dewy, healthy look. Use it under your foundation or over your foundation and under powder. You will definitely notice an awesome difference. I use this on all brides. Not shiny like you would think!
I've never really used this product as a highlighter but more as a moisturiser. And to be honest I don't really think it makes a difference to my skin after applying foundation over it, it has a nice smell though! I had read so many good reviews on this but this hasn't really done anything for me. I think for those with dry skin like myself you would be better off using this is in the summer as its not hydrating enough to use in the winter. To be honest I don't think the skin care products are all that from Mac anyway.
I love how this looks under foundation . It's supposed to be a highlighter/mouisterizer, but for me it stings my skin slightly then gives me skin coloured spots.
It's fine if I avoid using it on my t zone where i always get spots, but that's a bit pointless to me.
It's ok to use for me maybe once a week but every day use would really affect my skin.
I hate how MAC has so many harsh ingredients in other wise brilliant products ! :-(
I love strobe cream and I've now been using it for the past couple of years. It's my number one natural looking highlighter for my cheeks and brow bone (I also use it under foundation, or on its own). It's ideal when you like tired (read hungover!) or your skin looks dull. I also use it on my legs and arms mixed with a little mosturiser - it gives a really healthy looking sheen.
This product is expensive and the hard plastic tube is not the best packaging, but I love this enough to overlook these flaws. Sometimes it is the little things that we add to our makeup routine that make all the difference. I have normal to dry skin that turns super dry in the wintertime. I tend to get rough, flaky patches on my cheeks and forehead, which my regular face lotion cannot alleviate. So I use MAC Strobe Cream. I originally bought it to use a highlighter because after rubbing some of the tester on my arm at the MAC counter, I noticed that it gave me a very natural and healthy-looking sheen. If I want to use this as a moisturizer, I apply it over my face lotion. It actually hydrates the dry patches and makes my skin look so much better. If I want to use it as a highlighter, I gently smooth on a thin layer on top of my foundation over my cheekbones, under the brows, and down the bridge of my nose. Like I said before, I get a lovely natural-looking glow. I also like using this stuff on my shoulders, arms, and legs because the pearly sheen is actually buildable. It looks very glamorous and pretty if you apply liberally on the areas you want to draw attention to. There is no obvious shimmer at all, only a faintly glistening pearl highlight. However, I only do this on special occasions since the tube contains only 1.7 FL OZ (50 ML). Plus, I have no idea how I can get the rest of the product out once I use up more than half of it. EDIT: I also love mixing this with my foundation! I use a lot of long-lasting and highly pigmented liquid foundation like the Maybelline Superstay and the Revlon Colorstay. Strobe Cream is great for sheering out the coverage and making the foundation easier to blend. My skin looks smooth and dewy! I can't live without this!!
I love MAC's strobe cream! I bought it on a whim at CCO (I always buy of stuff on a whim there as I dont have a MAC or CCO within two hours of my house) At first I didnt know what to do with it but now I mix it in with my tinted moisturizer and ad a little bit on the top of my cheekbones and at the top of my lip. It gives me the fresh dewy look that I love. Would certainly buy again though one bottle is going to last me forever. Its huge. The only thing I really didnt care for is the bottle. I kinda wish is was in a pump though maybe its in one now as the bottle I have is the old packaging. Not enough to take a lippy off though
