I totally got suckered into the overplayed infomercials that play for Bare Escentuals. I have to warn you, I have very oily skin and I found that it did nothing to control my oil despite being a powder. After a few days of using it, my skin started to break out due to the product clogging my pores. I found when my skin became oily, a strange metallic smell emanated from my face....strange. Took weeks for my skin to get back to normal. I gave 2 lippies because the finishing powder is ok.

This is the perfect starter makeup for anyone with oily, acne or troubled skin. I used it for many years and loved it but just like everything, you move on up to what's better for your skin as it doesn't stay the same forever. Overall, I loved it.

I shied away from this product after seeing these negative reviews but I tried it out when my mom purchased it. Surprisingly I really like it because it works well for my sensitive skin. I break out like crazy almost instantly when I use the wrong products, and my skin clears up also almost instantly when I use the right products. Well this is definitely the right product for me because I went from crazy breakouts to 90% clear skin within a week.

Foundation-wise, I think it's a little lacking in that it doesn't look completely natural, you can tell that I'm wearing something. But this also means the coverage is quite good so it depends what you're looking for. I use a light dusting after applying primer and BB cream, I think this gives me the most natural finish with light-medium coverage.

While I wouldn't say this is my HG foundation, I would buy it again just because it cleared up my skin so well.

If I can't find anything better, then I will buy this product again, but I'm still searching...
My main problem is that it doesn't last long on my combination skin. I can't imagine lasting long for any skin type. I also don't like the color selection- I think most people might be in between shades. Also, it's not cheap and the lid easily looks dirty no matter how well you take care of it. If you leave it out on your desk you will look like a slob.

I’ll start by saying I have very oily skin with minor breakouts. I have always hated the way liquid foundation feels on my skin. This foundation is awesome compared to the liquid foundations I’ve tried in the past. I’ve used everything from Cover girl to Clinique. It gives a light amount of coverage and a little goes a long way. This product it good, but I wouldn’t say it’s my HG foundation. It is good at covering up minor blemishes and red spots. I have very oily, acne-prone skin and this lasts all day on me, unlike liquid/cream foundations which seem to melt off my face towards the end of the day. It also does not feel like I am wearing a heavy mask of makeup. I will be purchasing this foundation again. It is a little pricy so I usually purchase mine on eBay.

I started using this product about five years ago and it was awesome compared to the liquid foundation I used before. I still broke out with cystic acne but not as bad. I never found the exact color match but mixed two and made it work. Recently I've not been able to work due to preggo complication and have been searching for something cheaper. I decided on everyday minerals online and ordered samples. The makeup worked great, I found an exact match and my skin cleared up. I ran out of samples and went back to the be and my face would not stop itching til i washed it and I broke out after a few hours of wearing it. The edm and their brushes are about half the price and the brushes are way softer and give better coverage. I loved be until I tried edm. No more be for me ever.

I have bought various get started kits and eyeshadows from bare minerals and i'm never disappointed. The coverage is perfect for my skin and I do have a lot of redness on my cheeks. The primer is great and the warmth is gorgeous. It stays on really well and I don't get the oily effect half-way through the day that I sometimes get with liquid and powder. It doesn't feel like you're wearing a lot of make up either, but your skin looks flawless. The packaging is cute and the new click and lock system means it's great for travel and hand bags. The brushes are good, not great but for the price I didn't expect anything amazing. So easy to blend and It gives a nice, brightened effect to your face so you don't look like you're caked in powder either. The shop assistants were lovely and I would visit them again any time to repurchase. They have a good choice of blushers (I use vintage peach) and I have samples of their skincare that I have yet to try but hopefully will be able to review soon. My only issue for me is that I have a really busy life and I don't get a lot of sleep, so I always have dark circles under my eyes. It doesn't give great coverage for them but I just use my Benefit erase paste which it works well with. Overall a great product.

So I absolutely love this loose powder and I don't know why it has the amount of lippies that it does! It gives my skin this beautiful glow and it sets my tinted moisturizer and makes it last for a long tiime! Love love loveeee this product !

I find that BE's coverage is great for those with normal -oily skin (with no acne) as it gives a luminous finish if topped off with a lithe mineral veil. Love how it gives me a dewy finish. I hv combination skin so it tends to get oily a few hours later but no problem, just blot the oil away. Definitely a good product for those looking for a sheer, luminous finish. Use a primer. Get the starter kit, saves u a lot of money plus a little powder goes a long way.

My only complain is that the brushes does not retain its shape after some time.

At first I wasn't so sure about this foundation, I've hears so much about it and just wasn't sure it would provide good coverage for acne scars and hyper-pigmentation. So here is my thoughts about this.
1. gives flawless very natural looking look to skin
2.you need an awesome brush that holds on to makeup powders really well if you want good coverage, i use the angled Paris Presents angled brush and it does wonders!
3. use a good moisturizer before and apply the foundation while the moisturizer is slightly wet for a creamy finish
4.apply it wet for AMAZING COVERAGE
I LOOOOOOOVE HOW IT COMES ON WHEN I SLIGHTLY WET MY BRUSH. i just dampen it with some misty water and it turns out absolutely creamy and provides much better coverage, while still feeling like a powder. its a little on the expensive side since i apply it pretty generously i finish mine in about 2 and a half months but totally worth it. i just ordered the sample kit from Everyday minerals to try that out and see if the coverage is just as good as bare minerals. if your thinking about buying bare minerals, GO GET IT. I took off one lippie because of the price and sometimes i need to reapply during the day.
