I have normal to dry skin, without any blemishes, and barely any skin damage literally 5 tiny freckles so to start with my skin is in really good condition. Not for very dry or very oily skin.

coverage: This is a great light coverage foundation. Please don't listen to the counter staff if they tell you its full coverage - they tried it on me and looked cakey.. It is more a light coverage foundation, lets your skin shine through.

smell: nothing strong, neutral.

finish:satin-matte with a slight luminous finish. NO shimmer or glitter at all. very smooth, doesn't settle into lines.

colour: amazing shade range, nothing to yellow or too orange or pink. 5.5 - perfect lightly tan foundation for light-medium skin tones, but i have 5.

B-E-A-utiful foundation! Beautiful natural coverage. Lets the skin glow underneath! I am a MUA, and I love using this on my brides and for editorial, because it looks flawless in photos. However, took off one lippie b/c is really pricey! I do a ton of applications and I am constantly buying this foundation, yikes!

I'm really disappointed that they discounted their lighter shades. #2 really does quite work for me. I goes on quite nicely despite the fact it doesn't isn't a perfect match. In the store it seemed like it would be good, but it really wasn't a perfect match.
It was too warm for my skin tone. A little too yellowish, and I really I need more of a true Ivory color/porcelain.

That's not to say it isn't a good formulation, I did use but my make-up just looked a litte off. No terribly so, but not quite right. It's so blend-able, that in certain light it seemed really nice.

If you can get it to match I'd use it.

I'm just upset that I spent so much money, only ended up using a little more than half. And had to throw it out.

Recently got this product from Armani. I have to say it's not worth it...

The color I took is the right match. But the product itself is not magic... like my Bobbi Brown luminous is!

Something about the finish? I can't pin-point what it is. I wasn't thrilled by it, and it didn't give me that 'natural glow' other foundation give me. It looked... stale?

Disappointed.

Wow. With this foundation it was definitely love at first use. From the packaging to the product itself, I absolutely love Luminous Silk Foundation and can't say enough good things about it,
The liquid foundation itself when applied in my opinion can range from sheer to medium, I've applied it with foundation brushes, stippling brushes but still the best result for me has been applying with fingers. The finish is very satiny and the perfect amount of dewiness. For me, it doesn't every dry me out, although I've noticed that applying powder over the top takes away some of the effect of the foundation so on days when I definitely want it to last longer than usual I apply some primer underneath. Longevity of the foundation I think is simiar to Mac Mineralize Satinifinish, about about 8 hours for me, nothing exceptional but something I'm happy to overlook because I love how it makes my skin look, especially in photographs! Flawless smooth skin!
Packaging is very sleek and smooth, as is to be expected, yes this foundation is expensive but yes it is so worth it. HG foundation for me, finally after many years! If it wasn't £33 a bottle I would be wearing this everyday, but Mac Face and Body looks after me everyday, and Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation is my secret go-to weapon for special occasions.
All in all, LOVE IT! :D
For reference, I'm a Mac C4, NC40 and 7 in LSF

I love it! One pump is a little much sometimes when I just want to even out my skin tone. But, can't complain...it sinks in fast. Looks natural and dewy and has great coverage for very little product. Expensive yes, but also worth it : )

NW20, shade 5 in Luminous silk, combo skin.

I'll preface this by saying that i love all armani foundations. Lasting is probably my favourite, closely followed by luminous. They are probably both HG's to me. The only reason that i reach for lasting silk more is because I have combo skin and find the lasting power better on me.

I apply with fingers or a damp mac 190 brush. I set with MAC MSFN.

Pros:
- Upon application, skin looks flawless.
- Nice, neutral colour range.
- Photographs wonderfully
- Medium coverage, buildable but can also be sheered out.
- Doesnt break me out.
- Luminous finish (for those who like that!)

Cons:
- Doesnt have the best lasting power on my combo skin. After 4 or so hours, it starts to look 'not so fresh'. If you have normal to dry skin, however, you probably wont have this issue, so it would be perfect.
- Luminous finish- if you like matte looks, obviously this wont be your thing.

In conclusion, i use lasting silk on a daily basis because of the better lasting power. Luminous silk actually has the more flawless finish and (IMO) the nicer colour range. If I was on a shoot for whatever reason and was only concerned about how i looked, there and then, I would definitely go for luminous silk.
I assume I'll become a bit dryer with age (only 20, atm) and when I do, i'll use this daily. I've recommended this to my mother (who has dry skin) and she adores it (and she dislikes makeup in general).

This is CRAP. It has to be the WORST foundation I've tried. It accentuate all the dry flakes, most of which I did not even know existed there until I put this horrible foundation on. I thought I'd give it a fair chance, so the second time I put twice as much moisturizer as usual, and still this foundation failed terribly. I returned it immediately. Ladies, make sure to ask for a sample before you buy it.
