My favorite primer! It separates my lashes beautifully so they look full. It's not hard or heavy and makes my lashes look awesome. I pump my eyelash curler a couple times before I coat them with the primer, and it holds the curl all day. Great stuff!
this product did make my lashes look a bit bigger but besides that, the product sucked.
it didn't hold my curl at all!!! after i applied my mascara, my lashes drooped and stuff.
Huh? People don't like this stuff? Well, to each their own. I adore this product. I think it goes on beautifully, doesn't clump, has a lush, silky quality and improves any mascara's look about 100%. I think I could take a nubbin of a black crayon and run it over my lashes after I use Cils Booster and would look at myself in the mirror and say: "Damn, that crayon works good!" OK, so I exaggerate. But this is a lovely product, long-lasting, good for the lashes, makes mascara easy to remove, and well worth the money.
This makes a huge difference for me. I am a fan of false eye lashes and with this product my falsies are collecting dust! I apply one coat of this and I dont let it dry before I apply my DiorShow mascara. I usually use 3 coats of mascara but with this you only need one coat because it will get clumpy. I curse Sephora for putting a sample of this in my bag because now I can never be without it!
Surprised at the bad reviews. Maybe people are not using it right. Has anybody ever felt that sometimes products tend to work better one or two weeks later? I have this feeling with mascaras and primers. Anyhow -- on with the review:
Have been using this primer for 2 years. Results it gives me are thicker, longer lashes and it holds my mascara, preventing it from flaking off. I used to have short lashes but since using this my lashes have gotten noticeably longer, to the point where my best friend recently asked me if I was wearing fake lashes. Some people exaggerate the results but I am not one to do that as I am very critical. Before with other mascaras and without a primer, my lashes would constantly break and I never really achieved full thickness like I did until I used the primer. The science behind it is that it conditions your hair and protects it from the drying effects of just mascara alone on your lashes. Think of it as how hair spray makes your hair stiff, and can result in hair breakage. What if there was a 'hair' primer, where you can spray it on your hair, it protects your hair and adds another layer so upon application of hair spray your hair is not only thicker but also protected because of the extra layer. That's how I can think of describing what the use of a primer does.
The only con about this is that it comes at a high price of 21$. The brush is good, I have no complaints. Packaging is good. This is the first and only primer I've ever used, and recently I got a gift from Clinique for their primer which only runs for $14. I will try it and write a review within the next few weeks as my Lancome Cils Booster primer is running low.
Overall, great primer and key pros are it has protected my lashes from breaking leading to longer lashes, and adds fullness and length to my mascara.
i was so excited to try this out.. it sucked for me. it didnt lengthen, hold my curl (which is why i bought this), or volumize. after i curled my lashes and put this mascara base on it totally caused the curl to droop back into straight non-visible lashes. not fun. i thought maybe i put too heavy of a coat on so i tried only one coat this time, and yet again my curl totally dropped. i wouldnt recommend this, and i wish they didnt discontinue the cils booster original one because i've heard good reviews on that. :(
I have tried many lash/mascara primers in the past, this is by far the best I have ever used.I have tried it with several different Lancome mascaras, and works well with them all.
The trick is not to let it get dry before applying mascara, but on the other hand, if you put your mascara on too quickly, the primer doesn't really do the job properly. I have found that waiting just about one minute, works perfectly. If you let it dry any longer than that, your mascara will be very flaky and spikey, and not go on smoothly.
I just purchased some of Lancomes new "oscillating" mascara, and the Cils Booster combined with this mascara works wonders. One coat booster, wiat one minute, then apply on top of upper lashes, then stroke up under the upper lashes. Then do bottom lashes. Then go back to upper lashes immediately and apply one more coat swooping under the lashes.
The effect is fabulous, and looks like you are wearing false eyelashes !!
This is a good base - when I use with mediocre mascara it improves the mascara. It is the only ascara base I have ever used, so I am not sure how it compares with others.
It didn't work for me at all. I've tried using a lot, a little, and almost nothing. I've tried letting it dry before applying mascara, not letting it dry. I've done everything. I don't see any difference, no boosting, thickening, nada.
This was a fairly good mascara base. It did not clump my lashes and added slightly to my lash length. However I have yet to find a base that is worth another step. The difference just isn't obvious enough for me.
