I really like this foundation. The color ivory is fine for me but unfortunately here in Italy (or maybe just where I live) I couldn't find number 1 and 2 so I don't know what they look like. I find this is not cakey. It also has a really natural finish. I'll not use it on summer because I think it's a little bit too heavy on my skin when the wheather is really hot.
I would probably re-purchase this but I'm not 100% sure. I wanted to give it 4 stars but it doesn't stay on my skin very long. This has excellent coverage. When I first put it on I barely need an amount the size of the tip of a pencil eraser to cover my whole face and it covers really well. Unfortunately, it's off my face before the end of the work day. I can't speak to it's ability to reduce dark spots because I only wear it once a month or so. It doesn't break me out or itch. So, that's good. The price is fine. I think the color I bought is a little too light. Probably no one but me would notice but it bugs me. I asked the CSR to match it for me and he didn't do a great job. From now on I'll wait for a female CSR if I actually need real help (not just handing me a product).
I put all my other foundations away after using this for a week. I have purchased so many foundations and even mixed them to achieve a believeable color match but always was disapointed. I have high end brands including Mac, T Le Clerc, Make Up Forever HD and Face/Body, La Carte, Shiesado, Lancome, Estee Lauder, and Bobbi Brown to name a few. Color is always an issue because I am slightly tan med complexion but with faint pink undertones. Any yellow whatsoever I turn into jaundace girl. So I was thrilled to find a color match with this foundation. Beige 8 is perfection. A little goes a long way and looks better this way. I find it lasts all day on my normal skin and touch ups were not needed. I use mac blot powder in dark to set.
My face looks healthy and it covers imperfections like a dream. So glad I tried this. The other benefit is the price. So much cheaper than the higher end brands.
Update: It tends to be a little heavy. I find using a damp sponge the best way to apply this.
UPDATE: Went on vacation and wasn't happy with this. It made my skin look dry and odd. Oh well......
I love this foundation! It's lightweight, does NOT look cakey, blends well, and stays put. Awesome :o)
(shade 06- honey) It's a really nice foundation but the lasting power isnt so great. Just looks kinda crap throughout the day and need to constantly touch up. The colour matched to me was a bit too dark, but I guess I can use it in the summer but it'll still look a tad dark. However, the foundation DOES actually improve your skin tone..I did wear it religiously for a good month I think..and did notice my acne scars fading a BIT..but I was REALLY happy with it! :) Nice range of colours, only problem is the lasting power.
I really like this foundation!! It I so light that I can't even feel it on my skin, it really does even out my skin tone without looking cakey. So far it hasn't broken me out or anything so I guess it's good. I think it's good for any skin type I have combination skin and it works fine, my face does not get very shiny by the end of the day.
I reeeaaally wanted to love this product! I loved the coverage it gave, and in the store the shade Linen looked amazing... but then i got home and realized it was way too dark for me :( If this came in even just one shade lighter I would repurchase! oh well!
Pros: hides dark circles and my freckles, easily applied....
Cons: leaves face quite shiney but my wonder Benefit Hello Flawless powder sorts that out. Colours are a bit weird and I find it hard to find a match (I'm usually a MAC NW20)
I wasn't expecting such good reviews. The color choices were very poor - the closest one that matched me was too dark. Also, my whole face was shiny upon application and stayed that way - I looked like a grease ball (And the SA was the one that applied it for me). How come nobody else is mentioning that? I will say that the coverage is good though. Never used it long enough to tell if it could actually fade marks.
Of all make up items, I am most picky about foundation. I will freely splurge & spend practically any dollar amount providing I find one I love.
Clinique's "Even Better" is the one I keep coming back to, there may be a foundation out there that performs better for me but I have yet to find it.
The sunscreen is mainly titanium dioxide & zinc oxide, non chemical ingredients that do not irritate my eyes like a lot of the synthetic sunscreens can.
However, a good sunscreen does not mean much if the colors do not work with ones skin tone. Before "Linen" came out I used "Ivory" which looked lovely. Linen has more yellow in it & helps balance out the pink in my face. I've even bought "Alabaster" once & that shade also worked for my fair skin. The shade "Fair" I found to be a tad too dark for me. With that said it can be difficult to decide on a shade since some of them look very similar to one another. Clinique is great about taking back anything that does not work but to avoid this altogether I suggest asking for a sample or two to take home.
This is easy to blend and the texture is silky and has the coverage level I am looking for - medium to almost full. It will dry to a semi-matte finish and even in my dry areas it does not look at all cakey.
I still enjoy trying new foundations - both Drugstore & Department store brands - but if I were stranded on a desert island, this without a doubt, would be the foundation I rely on.
