PROS: smell, you can choose the size, for all skin types, does not dry out skin, small amount goes a long way, tone & scrub, natural ingredients
CONS: hard to use, expiration date
Angels on bare skin claims to be a Angelic and medieval recipe for the skin. Its great for all skin types. The scrub consist of finely ground almonds and balancing lavender, a pea-sized amount will gently scrub away the day. The rose oil and lavender oil are great for toning, while the gentle exfoliation of the almonds helps to keep the skin clear and improve the texture of the skin. There is also lavender which is soothing for the skin. I went to grab one in one of the plastic pre-made containers and did notice that all of the most expensive containers were on top. I ended up grabbing the last one on the bottom and it was around $8. I have had the scrub a bit over a month and still have more than half left. The thing is the expiration date is in only a few days away now and there is no way i am going to use it all. =( The cost is $10.95 for 3.5oz. You can have them cut you a new piece for a different price or buy one of there pre-cut containers. As everyone seems to say about everything a little goes a ,way. This could not be more true. I was amazed at how the tiniest amount cleaned my entire face. Its an amazing aroma and feeling when using this scrub. I feel like i went outside and grabbed a handful of flowers and nuts to rub all over my face. Its no natural. I will say it takes a bit getting use to keeping the product on your face while scrubbing. It does not stick to your face so you have to hold it in you hand and rub it in until its used up. You can mix water and the scrub in your hand but it takes forever to get the right amounts and i feel it gets too watered down. If you don't you may drop a bit of the product. I have been using this scrub after the fresh pharmacy soap. The fresh pharmacy soap seems to dry my face out a bit and after i use the scrub it puts the moisture back in my skin. I do not think this is as expensive as the other LUSH items. I have not had any breakouts with this formula and it seems to keep my face clear. I have given samples to two friends and they both loved it. If you try anything from LUSH i would recommend this scrub or the Sea Salt. This is cheaper than Sea Salt.
AOBS is the first lush cleanser I ever tried. It is very gentle and works great during winter days. Little product goes a long way, i recommend to buy small portions so you can use it all before it expires. The scent is lovely, I absolutely love lavender and i am always in search of products with this scent. Thankfully Lush has it all.
I'm simply in love with this cleanser. The product itself is natural and gentle, and packaging is minimal and recycled--great for those of us who don't care about pretty bottles as long as something works. I'm generally quite oily and a bit acne-prone, and I find the gentle exfoliation very refreshing. I feel clean without that tight, dry feeling, and since I've been using it, I've noticed that I break out much less often and less severely than I did with cleansers containing typical acne medications.
I personally love the smell; it's clean and herbal. And the cleanser is easy to use. It's a bit messy when you're first learning how to work with Lush, but when you get used to it, it's no worse than a typical cream or gel cleanser. When I first began using it, my skin freaked out a bit because I'd never touched anything natural, but after my adjustment period (even the sales associates will tell you that it's best to try it for two weeks unless you're having an allergic reaction) I've been pleased as pie.
I highly doubt I'll ever go back to another cleanser.
I really wanted to like this product and even tried using it a couple more times, when it was clear that it was causing sensitivities, but this product just did not agree with my skin. The first time I tried using it it made my skin a little pink, I used it a couple more times and it produced the same results. I love the smell though and it creates a milky substance when combined with water. I'm not fond of dipping my fingers into a container either. For the price and it's effectiveness or lack of effectiveness, I will not be purchasing this product.
Made me break out. Smell is kind of awful at first but when you get use to it it really isn't that bad. I wanted to like it but sadly didn't work for me.
Great cleanser for dry skin. It also very gently exfoliates.
My skin feels really good after I use this cleanser. No dryness or sensitivity.
I am in love with this product! Who would have thought something so simple can do so much for your skin? I've been using this cleanser for about 2 years now, and I refuse to use anything else! It gently exfoliates, and cleanses. I rarely get breakouts anymore and I really think it is because of this product, in addition to the rest of the LUSH skincare that I use! Try it! You won't regret it!
Despite some cons, this is overall a really nice cleanser for sensitive skin in need of gentle exfoliation. I have somewhat dry skin and this never made my face feel tight or dried out like some of my gel cleansers. The ground almonds provide the exfoliation without being too harsh. My skin always feels fresh and clean after using this. The main scent coming from this is lavender which is pleasant enough. The consistency reminds me of soft play-doh.
THE CONS: This will not remove makeup so I just use this in the morning. As many have stated the packaging and presentation of the cleanser leaves something to be desired. It takes a little more time to pinch off just the right amount, add just the right amount of water and blend. Don't get me wrong, it's not a deal breaker, it's just something to get used to with most LUSH products.
It's also a bit pricey especially factoring in shipping cost if I wanted to repurchase since I don't live anywhere near LUSH.
For these reasons I probably won't be repurchasing but if if I'm ever near a LUSH again I'm sure I'll have to pick something up and try it. There products are unique, good quality and fun.
This cleanser has made a LOT of difference in my skin. Let's start with my skintype...I'm dry and sensitive & acne-prone (yay, right?). I also have acne-scarring.
This stuff smells AMAZING and it's soooo gentle. The lavender in it is good for scarring and also very soothing for dry, sensitive skin. It also has ground up almonds in it so that it's a bit of an exfoliator. Holy crap ~ my skin is CLEAR for the first time ever and sooooo soft. The only thing it hasn't helped with is the scarring. I still need a foundation to even everything out. But I can imagine that in time it will help with that too.
I used this a few years ago, when my skin was more combination than it is now (now it's just dry all over, with sebborheic dermatitis and rosacea issues). It's gentle, but messy to use and after a week or so of use, I started to get nice, juicy, very poppable zits appearing on my nose, chin and cheeks. I do not suffer from acne and the spots went away when I stopped using it, so I definitely put it down to this product. I have since discovered that products with a lot of 'natural' oils - or even straight oil-cleansing, will always have the same result on my skin - zits. Definitely will never repurchase.
