i LOVE this brush. its super soft. it doesn't shed. its cheap. i own a crap load of MAC brushes but I reach for this. I have been to Ulta at least 5 times looking for an extra of this and its ALWAYS sold out!!!! I use this for powder, bronzer, blush.... etc. anything.. its so wonderful. It's a great all purpose brush for me. I NEEEEED more of them! great investment.
This is, hands down, the best blush brush I have ever used. I have tons from low-to-high-end brands, and this blows them all away. It's so soft, big, and fluffy, without being too much of anything, and it applies and blends the blush like a dream. It's easy to clean, quick to dry, and stands on its own which is nice when I need the counter space. I would recommend this to absolutely anyone.
YES IS HUGE, PROBABLY THE BIGGEST I'VE SEE, BUT WORKS VERY WELL, USE THIS EVERY DAY,,,AND IS $9.99 AT ULTA
This is a great blush brush, but, like a lot of others here, I use it for bronzer and powder too. I've had no shedding, and I've washed it several times. I agree that the white tipped bristles are wonderful. I love being able to see that the product is on the brush. I have no problems picking up product with it. You can't beat the price, and the quality. I also have some high-end brushes, but I've been using mostly Real Techniques for everything since they came out.
I really love this brush, it's inexpensive, great quality, and cute, it stands on any flat surface.
applies high pigmented blushes like a dream cause the bristles are kind of separated and it helps diffuse better, giving a nice finish blush application.
I own hakuhodo, sonia kashuk, lancome, costal scents, mac, elf, sigma, ecotool, yachiyo Nars ( this brush could be perfectly a great option to the yachiyo nars, seriously)
,essence and so far this is one of my best blush brushes, I'm thinking about buying another one :)
I LOVE this brush. I am a long time fan of the pixiwoo sisters on youtube. When I found out that Sam came up with an inexpensive brush line, I was ecstatic! I was browsing Ulta when I found the Real Techniques brushes next to the Ecotools/Japonesque brushes. Most the the brush kits and eye brushes were sold out and I was left with the large powder brush and this blush brush. I only wanted to buy one to try so I ended up purchasing the blush brush. Despite being named blush brush, it is actually a great multitasker. I have a really small face so I have replaced my Ecotools powder brush with this one. The bristles on this brush are stiffer so I get a more controlled application of powder. I have also used this brush for bronzer and it makes application so effortless and natural. I have yet to use this as an actually blush brush since the size is too large for my liking. I normally use a MAC 109 to apply my blush. But those with normal sized faces will definitely enjoy using this brush. Great price, great quality. BUY IT!
I've had this brush for about a month now and I love it! It's a bit too large for blush (I use a MAC 109) but that's just my preference. I do love this for my bronzer. It gives the perfect application- with bronzer it's very easy to apply it where it gets concenrated in the area where you first apply. Not with this brush- it sweeps it on evenly and makes it look very natural. I now reach for this brush everyday! I love how it stands up- I don't put this in my brush holder- so it's always nice at hand sitting on my vanity. It also looks and feels like it will last a very long time. I'm pleased! I just purchased the stippling brush today and can't wait to try it out tomorrow! Also- this brush washes great- no shedding, no color bleed and it dries quickly.
I have used this brush several times now and felt the need to review it. I got this at Ulta for the $8.99 retail price which is so inexpensive for a blush brush! I wasn't planning to buy Sam Chapman's brush (though I am a fan of PixiWoo), I was just browsing around. I actually was going to purchase a Sonia Kashuk brush (which I love!) I should note that I do use high end brushes too, but I find not all expensive brushes perform necessarily better - some lower end brushes IMO perform the same as higher end ones - it just depends on the brand and the specific brush. I have been using a Lancome blush brush, prior to this I have used a MAC blush brush and Ecotools blush brush, but I am really liking/ almost loving Real Techniques blush brush.
I won't describe the brush construction as another reviewer has done that. Here are the things that stood out to me:
1) The bristles are synthetic, not ultra soft since its not real hair, but I think they are soft enough. They don't feel scratchy at all and I think the brush is quite good at dispersing powder evenly.
2) The handle is a good length. Not too long so that you can't travel with it. Not too short so those with different sized or bigger hands would have trouble holding it.
3) I like the flat bottom and think this is a well-thought out detail especially since most make-up lovers store them in a jar/cup/etc
4) The BEST part (IMO) is the black and white contrast of the bristles!!!! Others may not find this important or useful, but I like the contrast because you can see exactly how much powder is being picked up at each swipe. I thought this was pretty neat. I haven't washed my brush yet, but this contrast also serves as a great indicator for when you need to wash your brush. I'm not sure this is what Sam intended, but if she did, its "brilliant" - as the Chapman sisters would say! :)
5) Oh, and the price - it is very difficult to beat $9 for a blush brush!! Real techniques really had the consumer in mind and I love that!
I'll try to update after I wash to let others know about how it sheds or not and the dry time.
UPDATE: 11 months later. I still like this brush, but don't love it. It washes well and dries quickly. However, its not as soft as before, and because its synthetic hair the brush doesn't move back to its original shape/form after each use. I've found this to be more of the case with synthetic brushes than natural hair brushes.
Would I still buy this? Probably, the price is great, and the brush delivers. For the price, we can't expect it to be perfect, but it does the job (though not ideally).
I purchased this on whim when i finally hot a hold of the stippling brush(which is amazing). I so far have used this only with bronzer, since i dont reguaraly wear blush, and it works amazing for contour! It blends so well, and it is sooo soft its fantastic. Ive been looking for a dome shaped brush for awhile, and seeing this one i had to get it. So happy with the two brushes ive bought so far, im recomending these to everyone, and ill defenitly be getting more when i can! Great job Samantha Chapman!!
I'm loving this domed blush brush, and especially at the decent price it retails for.. I'm really pleased. I find it perfect for applications of pigmented matte blushes as it picks up just the right amount to sweep across my cheeks so that I don't look like a clown. I don't find it scratchy or rough against my skin, it's really soft but not flimsy. I like that it's not small like most blush brushes tend to be as I find using those ones a nuisance because it's too precise and leaves me with an unnatural look. I even find that I'm reaching for this brush for my blush application more than my NARS Yachiyo since I got it.. and that's saying something!
