This is the perfect summertime foundation in my opinion as it is light, dewy and refreshing. I mix this with my Maybelline bb cream and it seems to work well for me. I would recommend you use a powder with this or else you will look greasy and the foundation will come off.
I HATE THIS FOUNDATION. I bought this after hearing so many good reviews but all it did for me was make my skin an oily mess. I have combination skin and I don't remember if this foundation is oil free or not, but it was so thin it literally ran down my face. Even with powder over top, it was still wet to the touch and would never dry. I finally gave it to a friend.
I'll start off by saying who this foundation is NOT for: people with oily skin. This is a gel based foundation meaning it has a very dewy finish. It looks pretty but is prone to shine within hours which will vary how soon it happens from person to person. You can set it but in my opinion it is ''wet to the touch'' that powder will stick to it and look cakey. That's if you don't it the right way perhaps. Meaning don't use the matching powder number because it will actually turn darker. Use the powder that is 2 or 3 shades lighter. Back to the finish i think it looks rather pretty when you first apply it. i've never used a foundation that has a finish like it. i just wish it stayed looking that way without all the dewy-ness. Winter & dry skin works best for this foundation. In summer it can get more shinier & melt off because it literally rubs off on anything. That is very uncomfortable to feel like you got a wet mask on. So i guess you can say i like it and don't like it at the same time. I've been trying to make it work for a long time and find that sometimes i hate it and other times it's looked good. Just make sure if you have oily skin that you stay away. Even combination skin which is what i have. I just perferred using this in winter. I like the idea of this foundation but how about a formula that is dewy but not to the point where you'll be slick in a few hours. Please don't buy this if you're oily.
This foundation is generally sheer, so as my first foundation I was a bit disappointed with the outcome. After using it for quite a bit, I found that even with a primer and combination skin, the foundation wouldn't stay on nicely over the day. Plus, it did not cover blemishes well at all. It simply went over it slightly to make my skin look like it obviously had foundation on it rather than smooth things out. On top of that, it did not have a pump, which became messy, not very hygienic, and a pain to use.
I like that this foundation is light and hydrating. I like to use FitMe in the summer to even out my skin. The consistancy is quite liquidy, I first apply a few dots on my face and use the e.l.f stippling brush to lightly tap and then blend. It gives the most luminous and airbrush finish! It gives very light coverage but is buildable to meduim. Since I am combo/oily I do have to set this with a powder and I can get a good 5 hrs before the foundation starts to break down and gets patchy on my t-zone.
This is the second worst foundation I have ever used. I purchased this because MAC is currently sold out of my shade of the Matchmaster. My sample was running out, and I needed something to hold me over until my next payday. have no idea where to start regarding the things I hate about this foundation. I bought this because it was relatively cheap, and I wanted to give it a try. Finding the right shade was really tricky. There is a little paper shade chart, but it is pretty much useless. It does not at all resemble the actual shade of the makeup.
First, it comes in a glass bottle without a pump. The glass bottle does not bother me, but the lack of a pump kind of does. Even though I shook it before I applied it, it still came out very watery and runny. You waste a lot of product.
I also did not like the way this foundation felt on my face. Even though it comes out of the bottle very watery and runny, it looks and feels very thick and heavy on your face. This foundation also does not dry very quickly. It never really absorbed into my skin either. It just kind of sat on the surface, making me look and feel like I was wearing a mask. Even after it dries, this foundation looks slimy and wet. Definitely not attractive.
Third, this foundation provides almost no coverage. It is very sheer. If you need only very light coverage and have flawless skin (which I definitely do not) this foundation might work for you. But it did nothing to cover the redness on my face at all. It made the small bumps on my face really stand out. Definitely not what I was going for.
Fourth, this foundation is not buildable at all. When I tried to build it up just a little, it looked terrible. It looked thick, heavy, gloppy, and not at all natural. It pretty much screamed “Look, I’m wearing makeup.”
When I purchased this foundation, I brought along my sample of the Matchmaster foundation to try to get a good match. I thought I had succeeded. I purchased this in Shade 230 Natural Buff. When I got it home, I applied a small amount to my chest and compared it to the skin on my neck. It looked like a perfect match. But within a few minutes of applying it to my face, it darkened and turned REALLY yellow. In the bottle, it looked like exactly the same color as my Matchmaster foundation.
This foundation is NOT for gals with oily skin. I only had this on for about an hour and a half this morning, and I could already see and feel my face getting greasy. Even with MOM underneath, I do not think I would have even gotten 3 hours of decent wear out of this foundation. But I did not leave it on my face long enough to find out. There was no way I was going to go to work with this stuff on my face. Fortunately, I was able to get one more use out my Matchmaster foundation. I have already purchased a different drugstore foundation to get me through until I can purchase the Matchmaster. After I took this off, the bottle went where it belongs. Straight into the garbage. I will not be wearing or purchasing this foundation again.
This product was very blend able and lightweight for me. I didn't like that it seemed a bit cakey on my skin, even where my glasses sit which is where my face is very oily most of the time. There was a very good color selection and I found my skin tone with ease. I noticed that after a few minutes if wear it looked a bit orange but with my warm skin it wasn't as noticeable. I'm not sure if this will become my everyday foundation but its good for days where I just want a light coverage and my skin isn't too dry. I think it'd be a better product for people with warmer toned, combination skin.
I bought this because I'd been hearing good things about it from my friends, some of which had similar skin type to me.
The lightest colour is too dark for my skin, and I literally break out in a rash when using it. The matching powder is the correct colour for my skin, but it makes my face go so cakey it's useless.
I ended up selling it online to some random girl in America.
I am still deciding whether or not I should go back to this foundation. For the past 2 or 3 yard now I have been using Clinique acne solutions foundation, which is amazing. Anyway, fit me goes on really smooth with a flat top brush. This had medium coverage. However, I still get oily after using this foundation. But I recommend this product for those with dry skin.
So I just went back to buy this foundation at Walmart. I was only $5. I have used this twice since purchasing this foundation. I still really like it but it still makes me very oily; powder can fix that. It lasts all day paired with my Clinque Acne solutions foundation. I like how it's liquidy because I recently got Sonia Kashuk's flat top brush for my foundation and so I needed something that I can slowly work with. Unfortunately, It has light to medium coverage. I tend to go back through the day self consciously retouching my blemishes-- I always have blemishes. It does however dry slowly compared to the Clinique acne solutions foundation. It has a dewy finish that can be mattified.
In my opinion--
-goes on smoothly with flat top brush
-no break outs
-lasts as long as a school day
-a little goes a long way
-light to medium coverage
-melts off if its hot outside
-constantly retouching in the oily t-zone area
The one good thing about this foundation is that it is a great match for me. I am NC30-ish and wear Fit Me in 220. It is a perfect match. If only it had better coverage and lasted longer! I also wore L'Oreal True Match in W4 in the past, and this is a smidge yellower. Other than that, they are almost identical: thin consistency and looks like you have nothing on. If it had SPF, it could be a tinted moisturizer and then I wouldn't feel so let down by it.
