great stuff for your body! the scrub is so rough - i love the way my body feels after, but i'd never dream of using this for my whole face. it's also good for blackheads - i use some just on my nose and chin, and they're gone, but be very gentle.

I really love this scrub! I don't understand how other reviewers say it is "so rough." Honestly, its not that bad and I like feeling because it seems like it really is scrubbing away my dead skin cells. If you have sensitive skin you might want to try the gentle apricot scrub. The smell is very subtle, but very fresh and clean. Overall, I really loved this product and plan on buying it again. If you are pondering whether or not to buy it, just buy it! It was only $4.00 at CVS!

This makes a fantabulous and almost luxurious body scrub. If you use this as a body gommage before waxing, you will have a beautiful smooth result. Well worth the dollar spent for a big tube of this stuff. And the fact that this is an "Allure" best buy is icing on the cake. Having said that, I used this on my face and would never do so again. Much too harsh for delicate facial skin, and I am delicate by no means. For face, I will stick with Alba Sea Enzyme Scrub or the gentle face gommage by Guinot or Clarins Gentle Peeling.

It does the job. In my opinion, the grainy micro-particles provided nice exfoliation. However, I recently read somewhere that it may be too harsh or may not be good for facial skin. I'd rather play on the safe side when it comes to skin, so I'm going to use something gentler.

I have been using this for over 3 years now and it has only made my skin better. I used to break out a lot but I haven't had any severe breakouts for such a long time! Many people who have sensitive skin do find this to be harsh on their skin but my skin is normal and I only use a small amount. I put my face under the shower so that my face is damp and then I take a small amount of the scrub and mix it with a little water to make it less coarse. My skin has gotten used to this and it does not feel harsh on my skin at all. It leaves my skin clean and so soft afterwards. My friends all love my skin and they always ask whether I'm wearing powder/foundation even when I'm not! I love this scrub. It has helped me a lot!

Oh no, the texture was very coarse and grainy. Very harsh on the skin. My skin actually got redder after using it. Aggravating. Now I just use it as a body scrub on my elbows and knees. Wouldn't buy again but I'll use it up. 2 lippies.

very basic stuff. doesnt have any active ingredients, so it's a straight exfoliator. does the job well. i will buy it over and over again.

This set of reviews makes me wish I'd found this site years ago. I started using this stuff back in high school, and did a good amount of damage to my skin trying to use it as a facial exfoliant. It's really far too harsh for that.

It does make a great body scrub, though. Even there, be gentle if you have sensitive skin...

I've been using this scrub for years and it's a staple in my bathroom ... when I can get it. I live in Germany and St Ives' products are not available to purchase here so the last time I went to Africa (yes Africa!) I stocked up on big tubs of the stuff! I like it as a body scrub but find it too harsh on my face, even with the most gentle touch. It has pleasant nutty clean smell that does not linger too much and unlike many cream scrubs that have one grain for every tablespoon of cream, this is very concentrated so a little goes a loooong way. It rinses off easily and leaves skin soft. It's very good value for money.
