Very grainy, it has sand in it or something. All it did was make my skin break out more. It's very irritating, and has ingredients that make your skin break out terribly. Try baking soda and water before you buy junk like this.
The first thing I found was that this stuff is VERY abraisive so I wouldn't recommend this for this for people with sensitive skin. My face actually had red patches after I used it but after it cooled down my face did look fresh and glowy. DO NOT FORGET TO MOISTURIZE! I mixed this with Mario Badescu's Strawberry scrub and that really helped to tone down the abraisivness
I have extremely dry, sensitive skin which generally hates just about anything i put on it.
I also have an allergy to the sun which makes me break out in a rash on my face which kind of resembles an aligators skin - eww, right?
well, totally weird, but this apricot scrub which is Super Grainy and Super Rough, works amazing on removing the skin buildup on my face when i have a rash break out, and it hardly bothers my skin what so ever. During the summer i use this twice a week in the shower and it does wonders to my face...
But remember ladies - moisturise after. Otherwise you'll feel how Joan Rivers' looks - skin so tight on her face that it's about to snap off.
This review is for the old formula but I do realise that the new formula is more smoother. This was my first scrub and at first I did like it, got rid of the flakies and made my skin somewhat smooth, but this was before I had acne. Now taht I have acne, I would NEVER use this as the grains were way too harsh for the skin, I never realised it was so harsh til I used it as a body scrub instead and it was tearing my skin on my body! However, I have not tried the new formulation so I cant say whether its any better or not
This product was reformulated within the last several years. Once it became more mainstream, i.e. advertised in way more magazines and word of mouth, around the time they introduced several kinds of Apricot Scrub on the market, the original was reformulated.
The orange tube! Why can't I find the orange tube?! I buy the original one, not the medicated or cleanser one. The full-of-nothing-but-grain-oh-yeah-let's-throw-in-some-lotion-with-it-also.
I've sworn by this for years, most amazing scrub. And I used to work for Bath and Body Works, I tried every one of theirs and they just don't compare, even the high end ones by Murad and all those new brands they carry there.
After trying new useless scrubs, I went and bought another Apricot one. What happened? Where's the brillo-padness? It's all lotion, barely any grain. This stuff is such crap now.I hate it. HATE IT.
For all of you complaining about the too many grains in this scrub, go out and buy a new one. You'll love it.
I've come to understand this is way too harsh for may skin. And i really should have known. When i had full blown acne issues, this really only made my pimples raw. Very rays. I would not use this more than once a week, and only if i had no choice.
I like this. It's a great scrub that gets all the peelies off my Retin A + AHA souffle'd skin. It's a great price too. What more can I say?
I've been using this for many years and keep coming back to it even after experimenting with other facial cleansers. I've got oily acne-prone skin and it's the only thing that is strong enough to exfoliate well and get off all the oil and clean out my pores. I don't have sensitive skin, so it doesn't irritate me even if I use it every day. But if you wash your face many times a day, it would be better to alternate this with a gentler product.
The Equate brand is good too, and that brand has rougher apricot bits, which I kind of like even more. Both brands are really inexpensive.
I've used this for years. I use it all over to exfoliate and after I do so my skin is smoother and looks must healthier. The price couldn't be better. You really don't need to pay more for a pricier product. This one does it just as well. Really!! Do buy it is the tube instead of the jar because it is much neater and easier to use in the shower. Make sure you use a good sunblock after wards as your newly revealed skin is much more sensitive to the sun. Don't scrub too harshly on sensiitve or acne prone skin.
i love this scrub! it's my favorite scrub of all time! i love the way it feels so rough on my skin and it leaves my skin really soft and smooth! it smells really good too. i also use this as a body scrub and it exfoliates my skin perfectly, leaving it soft and smooth. i use it before i use a self tanner so that i will get a perfect application and it works really well. my skin is not sensitive so i and take the scrub well, but i definitely would not recommend it so people with sensitive skin. i like to buy the scrub in those little tubs because that is a better value and i use a lot of that scrub. definitely my HG face and body scrub!
