I like this product. It goes very smooth on your face, but it has big granules of apricot seed in it. I use it once every two days, great buy, cheap price. Not bad at all!!!
I used to use this years ago when I was still living in North America, I really miss it as it isn't sold here where I live now! At that time it worked really really really tremendously great for me, I used it every day, I was totally addicted especially to the smell! (Fortunately Lush's cleanser I don't know the name in English but in Spanish it's called Angel Skin, has a gentle scent that is faintly reminiscent of the St- Ives scrub I remember.) When I think about it I suppose that since it IS a scrub I guess it's not meant to be used every day but I had really oily dirty skin then so it worked great for me, made me look polished and radiant. It was sold in a plastic pump bottle in those days so very convenient to use too.
This stuff is way too harsh for me. The walnut shell or whatever is the exfoliating agent feels like rubbing gravel over my face. It's more scratchy than scrubs I buy for my FEET. Spend a little more money and get something good for your skin!
If you have very oily, tough (not sensitive), acne prone skin, then this a must for you! I use it everyday and it works wonders on my skin!
But if you have sensitive, dry skin, then stay away from this!!!
I used this for years and loved it. Now they've changed the forumula and I hate it. I use it on my feet only, now that it makes my face all irritated. I've happily replaced this product with Queen Helene Mint Julep Face Scrub.
A mild apricot scented scrub with ground walnut shells. The smell is mild not strong or bad, although for the price I think it's a good value cleanser for only $3.79 6oz. It does leave a glow but only lasts about a few minutes and softness but not like other scrubs I've used. The little ground walnut shells feel scratchy and you have to be extra careful when scrubbing. I used this back in high school when I had oil/ flaky skin and it did nothing for my skin except left it soft and clean. I continued to have dry flaky skin around my mouth and chin. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone with sensitive skin. Lately I've been using an aspirin mask while showering and it's done wonders for my skin and leaves it radiant much longer. Please read the review. Overall, I would not buy St. Ives again. While it's super cheap, if you just put int a little more money you can get something much more effective. If you like a more gentler scrub, I also recommend Shiseido's Pureness skin care line.
I tend to use this more to exfoliate my elbows, knees and feet in the shower --- on my face it's a bit too harsh/abrasive.
The scent is great, and yummy - the price is very reasonable.
Hmm...I haven't been using this one for too long but I like the exfoliation that comes with it, and I like the scent better than any other face washes I've tried. I don't really know if it does great things for my skin though. And since it comes with the exfoliation particles, you have to wash your face for longer to get them off and sometimes after I dry my face I see that they've ended up along my hair line.
great scrub. gritty texture really makes if feel like youre exfoliating. i use this as a body scrub too. price is fair overall i'd buy again. didnt experience any irritation.
This is a good product. I used it for a LONG time, every day before my cleanser. I have sensitive, acne prone skin and I had no problem with it. I only stopped using it because I switched to all natural products and am now using Earth Science's apricot scrub. You do have to be gentle because it CAN be too harsh if you rub too much, but if you're careful, it's fine. I don't have anything bad to say about this product, so if you're looking for a scrub, give this one a try :) It comes in a tube or a pot; the pot is less expensive and has more.. so that's what I always bought. Just make sure your hands are clean and dry when you put them in there!
