I'm normally an avid Cetaphil user, but I got this product in a Philosophy set and LOVE it! I want to FYI everyone that you can get 32oz of this product from QVC.com for around $32 plus s&h...retails at $80 for that amount!

I love this product because it makes my skin very soft and has shrinked my pores to an extreme that Cetaphil never has. I'm very happy with this product.

I hate to give this a bad review because I *really* wanted to like it. I purchased this with the Best of Sephora kit, so thankfully not the full size. The cleanser itself feels very nice and your face does feel clean after using it. It's as good as (if not better) than the cleanser that my dermatologist was having me use that I can only purchase through her. It does not foam, which is fine, and my skin felt smooth after using it. THE BAD: my eyes got really irritated by this. I didn't wash anywhere near them but the scent and/or chemicals of it clung to me I guess. Maybe I didn't wash it off as well as I thought but after several days of using this like I use my regular cleanser my eyes had that irritated "gook" in them, tears everywhere, etc. I even flushed my eyes with eyedrops after using it once and it didn't help. Anyway, I stopped using this cleanser and went back to my regular cleanser and everything cleared up so I'm pretty positive that is what set my eyes off.
Sadly I will not be purchasing again. continued >>

This is a nice non foaming cleanser for the summer when my skin is combination. I think for winter this would be too harsh for my sensitive dry skin. It has a nice light lemon scent and removes all makep in one shot. Even my water resistant eye makeup is easily removed. Nice cleanser that easily takes makeup off. Your face feels squeaky clean afterwards. It's also reasonably priced, I paid $14 CAD (before tax) for 100ML at Sephora. I completely agree with PinkLily below about applying it with wet hands to a dry face. This is the perfect combination so I get maximum use out of the product. I found I did use too much with a wet face and wet hands. Thanks PinkLily!

I have started using the Makeup Optional Kit for Congested Skin, and my skin has improved dramatically! The first step is to cleanse with Purity Made Simple.

At first, I was annoyed that it didn't clean as well as I had hoped, and I seemed to be using vast quantities of product. Then, I discovered the best way to apply this to get maximum cleansing: Wet hands but not face (I slick back my hair, so it doesn't get it my face - this is how I discovered this technique; I wet my hands to slick back my hair but forgot to wet my face), pour small amount of product into wet hands, apply to face, (I use the Shiseido facial brush as an extra step), leave on face for a minute, rinse off well. If you apply the product with dry hands to a dry face, it doesn't smear around as well; if you apply with wet hands to a wet face, you have to use more product than necessary; so, applying with wet hands to a dry face is juuuuuust right!

This product did not remove my waterproof mascara. It did remove most of my other eye makeup, though. It did not sting my eyes.

I didn't notice any weird smell. If there were a scent, it washed off, anyway.

I guess this has been the best makeup remover I have tried but I still would try and do try others to change with this one but came back here beause it takes my makeup off really well. Others don't do that and some will burn my eyes but not this. So I have been using this for some time now and continue to use it. I was going to try Clinque the balm makeup remover but it was less amount and more expensive so I ended up buying this one again.

Left me with dry, irritated tight skin. yuck. I know lots of people like it but into the rubbish it went for me.

Love, love, love this cleanser. Many people have written that they were bothered by the smell. I thought it smelled nice and fresh, and actually enjoyed the scent. Smell is a very personal opinion, so you might want to test it out before purchasing.

Yes, it's expensive. I haven't found anything that leaves my face feeling as soft and moisturized, though. I have fairly sensitive skin that reacts to harsh scrubs. I've gone through Pro-Activ (hated it), and most of the drug store brands. This melts away make-up, soothes skin, and leaves it feeling clean and moisturized. I first got it as part of a sample set of Philosophy products, and have since bought two big bottles because I liked it so much.

I would also recommend Philosophy moisturizers.

This one just doesn't agree with my normal to oily, breakout prone skin. I don't love the scent, which is faintly medicinal to me. I actually prefer that this cleanser doesn't lather. What I don't like is that this cleanser causes me to breakout (pimples, blackheads) and causes these freaky, itchy dry patches. For the price, I expect far more from a cleanser.
UPDATE: I still have no love for Purity Made Simple, but do loooove and adore Paula's Choice Skin Balancing Cleanser (http://www.paulaschoice.com). IMO, PC Skin Balancing Cleanser is a great (and less expensive) swap for Purity. Skin Balancing Cleanser contains zero fragrance and in my experience doesn't cause breakouts or irritiation.

I think this is one of my favorite cleansers. Philosophy is famous for great skincare and body washes, and with good reason! I find that this cleanser makes my skin clean but it doesn't make it feel tight, and my face feels really soft after using this cleanser. I do like Mary Kay and Body Shop cleansers better, and this particular product is rather pricey but overall it's a good cleanser and worth buying again.
