OK. So I am SOOOOO sad to say that I would not buy this again, Seriously, whenever I find a good foundation that feels great and makes me look flawless, it breaks me out ! I wish it didn't happen but it did. I was in LOVE with this product. It makes you look so natural and it has amazing coverage. I have acne-prone skin and a lot of scarring ! This would not hide everything by itself (since I have a LOT to cover) but I would use a light coverage foundation, just to even out my skin tone and then apply this on top. The coverage is pretty buildable. But, within a week, I started breaking out :( I first thought it was because of my time of the month, but I kept breaking out after. Since I'm under an acne medication, I don't wanna use something on my face that will aggravate my acne u know ! Unfortunately, i will stop using this (and I just lost 17 $ ). I thinks it is because of the bismuth oxychloride that it contains. I'll go get a new foundation tomorrow and I'll make a review after a certain time of use. TTYS !
This is sort of a hit and miss product for me. Though I like the fact that it somehow manages to give me decent coverage and looks very natural, it also has a few cons which I think would be important for anyone considering purchasing it.
- Very limited shades, though it blends easily enough to not give a makeup line or obvious difference between face and neck. Other very fair skinned/cool undertone girls, be wary that even the lightest shade may look a little too brown on you.
- Not good for those with dry and/or combo skin. My t-zone is just a tinge shiny, mostly in the middle of my nose and forehead and so with this product, at the very first it will look alright, but then it can get into any creases or uneven surfaces and look chalky and unattractive. The drying factor with this product is especially noticeable in the winter months.
- The brush can be rough on sensitive skin. My skin is a bit sensitive, not overly so, but it can make my skin burn a little when I use the attached brush. I'd consider buying your own separately unless your skin doesn't irritate or flake easily.
- The coverage isn't very even/complete. If you're looking for something to hide all your blemishes, I wouldn't recommend this product. It does cover fairly well but not enough for bad acne scars or major discolorations. I have quite a few discolorations which are purple-ish on the side of my face and a few on my forehead that I can't cover with this, though it does mask them a bit so they don't stand out.
Okay, even though that may seem like basically everything is wrong with this foundation, don't mark it off your list yet. If you want a foundation that's very natural, yet gives okay coverage without looking cakey or taking away all the color out of your cheeks, I would say to buy it. I've found that these mineral foundations are good for those days when your skin is clear and isn't dry. Perhaps it would be an ideal summer foundation for those who just want something to even out their tone a bit. The other big pro is that it doesn't feel like you're wearing much. It's light and doesn't feel stiff.
Probably wouldn't repurchase unless there was a larger range of shades for us fair skinned girls, but would recommend to anyone needing a decent foundation that appears natural and soft on the skin.
It's so hard for me to pick my correct shade when I shop in drug stores so when I picked this up in Sep. it was too light. But picking it up again in Oct. I've gotten pale enough to pull it off, it's still a little too light but whatever. I really like the application, it goes on nice and doesn't look cakey on me at all. I quite enjoy the little kabuki brush included and like how it applies the product. Overall I'd buy it again just try one shade darker, I bought Sun Beige, next time I'd go for Classic Tan.
I tried this product years ago and was very disappointed.....but my hubby convinced me to give it a shot since most drugstore brands never have a shade that will match my skin tone....and most mineral powders work for me....Let me tell you I'm very happy its a little pricey but the coverage is buildable and the brush seems softer then a few years ago so now I can use it instead of switching to my ELF Brush. It last all day when I set it with just a tad of translucent finishing powder and gives an awesome base for my eyeshadows
Because I'm Prego I tend to get very hot and sweat on my face alil this product in turn makes me itch and burn on my sensitive skin....I will be looking for a new foundation now =(
Colors are hard to match and way lighter than they appear in the jar it appears ashy when applied and doesnt do good over blemishes makes them stand out even more for some reason and its crazy this stuff will actually DARKEN ANY BLEMISH,MARK OR SCAR on your face its like a gross ashy dirt color :-/
I don't like this because it accentuates fine lines, cakey, and accentuates my pores. I also have a hard time finding my shade so I have to mix two different colors together. Since then, I have switched to using a more high end mineral foundation.
This is the only mineral foundation I have found that matches my skin tone (I'm the palest pale) and covers my red cheeks well. It also has great staying power.
However, this is so irritating to my skin. I write in all face makeup reviews that I have combination skin and my cheeks are really dry, so dry that in the winter the skin cracks. This felt like my cheeks were burning unless I used a really heavy moisturizer which makes this feel really heavy.
I used this on and off for about 3 years and have repurchased several times mostly as I couldn't find anything else that matched or covered as well. I'm experimenting with other foundations and have so far, had the hardest time getting the same results so I may buy this again despite the irritation.
I am undecided on this, and I have had this foundation for at least four years. It provides really good coverage, but it feels heavy on the skin to me. I am not an expert with mineral foundations though, so I am not sure if that is a common complaint. I felt my skin could not breathe well, although I was really satisfied at the amount of coverage especially with redness here and there. The colors were not too "orange" and lasted a long time. I would probably use this only for gong out at night or for covering areas that are not oil-prone like cheeks or along the jaw. I do use the tiny concealer though, which I really like. I think I will use this to dot on as a concealer as well rather than as an all-over foundation. I do like that it is not sparkly like many other powder foundations!!!
I love this as a mineral foundation. I used to use Bare Escentuals foundation for years and decided that the shades did not match my skin and it was getting expensive considering it runs out pretty quickly, so I decided to switch to another mineral foundation at a more decent price and found L'oreal Bare Naturale foundation. I am buff beige and have been using it for a little over a year. I think that the coverage is better than BE and it is buildable. It doesn't get cakey and it lasts all day if you use finishing powder. The buff beige gives me a glow and I have had many compliments on my skin, but it does run out pretty fast like the BE. Also, I actually use the brush that it comes with and like it. One thing though that irks me though is getting the powder out, I have to put on another surface and dip my brush into it. I guess it wouldn't be a problem if you use a different brush. The only reason I said I would not repurchase is because I am switching my foundation to MUFE hd foundation because even though its pricier, I feel that I use a lot less product to get the same coverage I would with the L'oreal mineral foundation.
I love this mineral power, but I hate the packaging... I can definitely do with out the brush it comes with. The brush is the worst, bristle are hard and has not stem! So I just use the ecotools kabuki to solve this problem. However, the mineral powder covers well and does a good job at blending.
