Vaseline is the perfect go to when you don't have anything else that will work for dry skin.

Cons: Sticky and does not always blend in easily

Pros: Works great when nothing else will

Pros: gets rid of diaper rash, burning itching skin and can rescue sensitive skin.

I still prefer Olive oil to Petroleum jelly, Vaseline or any lanolin product.

I didn't use petroleum jelly much until I got eczema on my hands. I went to see my doctor, and she gave me a steroid cream. I ended up the steroid cream everyday for more than a year. The steroid cream controlled the flare up because they didn't look as red. However, my hands looked dry, wrinkled (and I'm only 25 years old), and just plain nasty. Then, my nail started to separate from the nail bed from the eczema. At that point, I realized that I needed a solution for my problem, not just something that kind of patched it up. Otherwise, it has only going to get worse. The only moisturizer that I could use was petroleum jelly. Any other cream caused me pain even if it said that it could help improve eczema. I bought some gloves from earth therapeutics that were meant to be used with moisturizer and put them on after smearing petroleum jelly on my hands. This helped the petroleum jelly to stay on my hands, and I could touch stuff without getting everything greasy. I did this overnight and at least a couple of times during the day. After four days, the eczema was gone (the cuts from severely dry skin, pain, and irritation were gone). My hands were a little dry, so I kept doing this every day. After a month, my hands looked soft, supple, and youthful.

I have the Swedish version of this and I love it, because it's great when it comes to removing eye-make-up and if it's applied during night on lashes and lips I will wake up with longer, nicer lashes and soft, full lips. The only sucky part with the Swedish ones is that they are difficult to open, but that's about it.

"Would you buy this product again?" - Yes! Again, and again, and again. Other reviewers have already listed all of its great uses, I'll just tell you what I use it for the most, and why I love it so much.

Lip balm: I put this on as a lip balm after brushing my teeth in the mornings, so it has time to soak in while I do my makeup, and then my lips are soft and ready for whatever lip products I apply.

Smudging/eyeshadow-to-eyeliner: I don't do this often, but when I do, Vaseline is perfect for it: I'll take my angled eyeshadow-to-eyeliner brush and pick up a dab of the Vaseline, and kind of smear it onto my hand. Then I pick up whatever shadow I want to use as liner, and mix it with the Vaseline. I then apply it just as I would a liner. It goes on super smoothly, just absolutely glides on, and has nice staying power. Love this use.

Excema: I do have prescription creams, but I've used this on my bad patches before in a pinch and it works beautifully, of course :)

**ALSO** - I should note that I don't even have the name brand Vaseline, I get the giant things of petroleum jelly from the dollar store and it's even cheaper, if you can imagine that! I think the size of tub that I get for $1 is usually something like $2.39 for the name brand at most of the stores in my area (NW United States).

Before I have only used vaseline sporadically but awhile ago I got second degree burns on my chest and arm. When the skin started to heal I got orders from my nurse to once or twice a day put vaseline on the skin that had started to heal so that the skin is protected and so that the moisture is locked in. The skin on my chest and arm is very supple and soft. I also started to use it on a couple of dry spots on my body they are now soft and nice. So vaseline is of the good and it's dirt cheap! What more can you ask for?

I'm pretty sure almost everyone loves Vaseline! You can use Vaseline for almost anything! I like to use Vaseline on my lips as a lip balm/conditioner at night sometimes. Or if I'm just in the mood I could just apply it to my lips in the morning and I'm ready to go! I don't like that every packaging you have to use your finger to apply it, but it doesn't matter much to me. And it only costs a $1! I mean come on, you have to buy it, lol! ;)

I use Vaseline around the eyes because i cannot use eye creams so i use i use this as an eye cream. Whenever i use eye creams it always burns my eyes making me tear however Vaseline moisturizes and doesn't burn my eyes so this is a must for me everyday!

I do not have the habit of keeping a tub at home for this product but recently bought a small bottle on sale. I tried it on my nail cuticles. Although it takes time to message it all in and feels a bit greasy, the result it gives is great. I will keep using it and see how it goes.

I have been using Kielh's No. 1 lip balm for a number of years now. But I have noticed it's main ingredient is petroleum. Therefore, I could substitute it with this Vaseline.

I used to putting Vitamin E oil on my lashes every night and it did help my lashes to grow longer. I will try putting Vaseline on and hopefully see some positive results over time.

I agree with the many different reviews on her that say everyone should have a tub of this in their home. I can't remember a time in my life where we didn't have vaseline in the house. My grandmother taught me vaseline is the best thing to use around your eyes. She swears it prevents wrinkles from forming. I also use it on any dry patches of skin, my lips, on burns... Pretty much everything else you can think of.
