Got a sample of this when I placed my last order online. Overall this reminds me of really expensive baby oil. I really like the take the day off cleansing balm but this is kinda gross. It's a good thing i got this as a sample and didn't buy it because I would have been dissapointed.
Brilliant product, removes eye makeup in one sweep, leaves no oily residue. Bottle is perfect for travelling too.
This is an ok product. It's nothing special and I can't rave about it, but it does the job. I do prefer Equate's eye makeup remover to this, mostly because of the price being a quarter of this one. Won't buy again, but thats because I will be buying cheaper next time.
I am on my second bottle already, so yes I like this. It is gentle enough that it does not sting my eyes (unlike Body Shop ones), and it does remove the most stubborn of waterproof (WP) MU. I found the trick to be that you have to let it sit (soaked a bit on a cotton pad) a few seconds on your eyes first, give it some time to dissolve the mascara and liner (I use WP ones) before gently swiping the cotton pad around. It is really expensive, but I have used the cheaper ones too, the difference I find is with the cheaper ones (when they do not sting) tend to take more time to dissolve the WP MU and the left over residue on my eyes are not exactly comfortable. With Clinque's, I feel more comfortable and takes less work. I don't have kids, so that child proof cap is kinda annoying, but other than that, this is a good product (and cheaper than Lancome's Bifacil too).
I have tried many eye makeup removers over the years and paid for quite expensive ones but I have been really impressed with Take The Day Off - it is so gentle and quick to use. I've read the other reviews and yes, you do have an oily residue but I follow with Clinique's 3-step skincare so this is not a problem for me.
I don't normally rave about beauty products that much as I think I expect a lot when I've paid quite a bit for them but compared to some brands this one is reasonably priced and it works really well for me. I just wished I'd tried it earlier - I'm sticking with this from now on.
Good product, removes waterproof mascara easily and most eyeshadows. Glitter particles in eyeshadows don't come out so easily though. The product is tad oily but it's all right because i immediately bathe once i remove my makeup. Better than lancome's bi-f.
After I ran out of my Lancome Bi-facil eyeshadow remover I started using this product. It seemed just like the Lancome product, it remover products easily and the bottle was designed the same way with a child-proof lock top. About 2 weeks passed since I used the products. I got a red puffy irritation around my eyes and immediately stopped using it.
After trying a lot of drugstore brands, I finally splurged on this, and I must say, it was worth every penny. It's so gentle & effective. With cheaper eye makeup removers I was rubbing and rubbing until I lost a few eyelashes, and still woke up with some mascara residue under my eyes. This gets every last bit of eyeliner and mascara off. Even though it's slightly more than I'd generally like to spend, it takes very little to get the job done, so it does last a long time. continued >>
I was lucky to swap for a bonus size of this item. I like to try out different eye makeup removers, mostly because I haven't found JUST the right one yet. I've tried the neutrogena ones, other DS brands, I do really like the EL Take It Away because it is a cream and is gentle and smells good, but I think it doesn't quite take off everything. This stuff does! First, I don't think this has a scent - for those of you who are sensitive to that. This is a part oil, part solvent type of combo. I, like many others have been resistant to oil type cleansers because I have oily skin. While I have taken all manners of science classes, and understand that it will work, the thought is just hard to get used to - I think a lot of you can relate! So, my usual nighttime routine is the following: use 1 Garnier cleansing wipe to take off makeup, hop into shower and use the Garnier 3-way cleanser as my night cleanser, then hop out of the shower and use this on my eyes because there is still eyeliner left from the day. - I use Prestige Total Intensity liners because they do not budge! But they are also hard to take off - until you use this Clinique product. I put a small amount on a cotton pad and use it on both eyes - and the liner is gone!
My only complaints about this product would be cost (in comparison to other oil-type cleansers that are DS brand - but maybe you get what you pay for in this instance?), and that just the nature of oil cleansers, when I've finished cleansing and put my glasses on (I take contacts out before cleaning) - I have some smudges on my eye that are a little smudgy.
