I had this product in my bathroom cabinet for a while before I began using it. I use it as a volumizer and it gives awsome volume. When I do spray it through my hair it adds a nice, messy texture which I love. The only problem I have with this is that it leaves my bathroom sink all grainy and salty but I do love what it does with my hair. If you add a little shine pomade or serum it makes the matte finish disappear and you get sexy, full, bed head hair.

Didn't work too well for me. My hair is straight and it's in a growing out phase right now. I was hoping this product would add some thickness and a little bit of lift at the roots. All it does is make my hair feel rough and look like I just tumbled out of bed. I expected it to be like John Frieda's Ocean Waves (it's been discontinued), which had some oils in it to add some shine and moisture. Bumble and Bumble's Surf Spray is just perfumed saltwater.

This product seems like a really light hairspray to me.

It doesn't really give the proper amount of moisture to achieve the beachy hair look, if you ask me. Also, the strong perfumy scent really does not smell beachy at all which is strange in a product marketed to evoke that feeling.

Smells nice enough, Not really sure if it gives me what I'm looking for or if i even need it. Since I have naturally straight long hair somehow getting tousled beachy textured hair jsut doesnt match with me.

But in terms of the product would probably work with others. the texture it creates is a little rough for my normally smooth hair which i dont like too much.

So its a product i;m on the fence about may like it if i ever decide to get a perm

This product is awesome. I have thick, naturally wavy hair that tends toward the frizzy and unruly and this stuff does some kind of miracle, taming my waves into a piecey, sexy tousled look. Love it and will re-purchase over and over again.

I had heard some good things about this spray and bought it on a whim. It doesn't create many waves on my fine, straight, thin hair, but it gives it a ton of body and volume. It can get a bit sticky if I spray too much in and the bottle is so tiny. I don't think I'd repurchase this again, but it was okay for the discounted price.

I've been using product for about a week after reading review after review of it in different magazines throughout the spring months. So far I love it! I have shoulder length, naturally curly/wavy hair and I use the Surf Spray after I've towel dryed my hair. I towel dry my hair then spray this in all over my head then comb my hair into "place", let air dry for about 10-15 minutes then turn my head over and finish drying with a diffuser. Perfectly mussed curls all over my head without a sticky feeling I get from some gels and curl cremes. Love this stuff!! Will definitely repurchase.

Save your money!!! I figured out how to make this at home. Here's what to do: go to the drugstore and buy an empty spray bottle and some epsom salts. At home fill the bottle about 1/3 full with epsom salts and fill the rest of the way with warm water (leave a little bit of room at the top if you plan on adding anything else for conditioning or fragrance; I think a couple drops of jojoba oil or coconut oil might be nice; any other essential oils could be used for fragrance). I just tried it on my hair and I have the same salty, matte, cruncy beachy type of texture that the others are describing here at a fraction of the price (around $3.50 for the bottle and $2.50 for 1/2 gallon of epsom salts).

By the way, one of the main ingredients in Bumble Surf Spray is magnesium sulfate, and guess what that is: epsom salts!! There's no reason not to make this at home!

EDIT: My recipe was a little heavy on the salt--whenever I touched my hair, little salt crystals fell all over me, and they STING and itch!! Try this recipe instead: 8 oz bottle, put 2 tsp. salt (i used table salt this time) and 2 squirts of gel (I used 1 squirt Dove shine & define and one squirt of TIGI creative genius). This works great--just like Fekkai Summer Hair wave spray. And no itching!!! continued >>

Bsics packaging that looks pretty and you wouldnt want to throw this seemingly expensive looking product away.
Nice product that does what it says.
It creates natural waves on non and also curly hair. I have curly hair and this gives it a a few extra waves that are more natural unlike my naturally excessive curls. These are waves that are reminscent of beach hair that has been wet by salt water. It is evident this has a salt water content as there is a hint of this scent and it is pleasant and not over powering.
This product will be a staple for me and it is draggingg and tangly if you aplly to much paticuarly if you apply to dry hair. Preferably apply to wet however, if you decide to apply to dry hair it does appear thicker and straggly and that IS the idea of this product. Its a messy natural look not a polished look.

I stayed the night at a girlfriend's house and she had this product. I washed my hair and conditioned it and then I towel dried my hair, combed it out and sprayed this stuff all through my hair while it was wet. I let it dry naturally, and I scrunched as it was drying. My hair is fairly long -- to the middle of my back and has long layers. I didn't have any frizz, and my hair was bouncy and wavy with some separation to the pieces. The texture was different, kind of soft, but not something to run fingers through. It was a little tangly feeling. But, it was nice.

This isn't something I would use every day as I have some natural body to my hair. However, my girlfriend has flat straight fine hair, and this product gave her some body. i didn't think it gave her many waves, but it had more bounce. Her hair doesn't seem to hold a curl as well as mine does.

Overall, I guess it all depends on what you want. This would be something I would only use once in a while -- and the price of $26 puts me off from purchasing it. If it was $12 or so, I'd probably purchase it and use it at least once a week.
