I love this lipstick. It's really smooth and a great nude pink lipstick. It's definitely my HG lipstick, but I do have to wear it with a lipliner because the texture is so creamy.
I am a MAC NC25-30, and this (to me) is a great pinkish nude. It's the perfect "wear around the house" lipstick for me not only because it's a great color, but it's also very moisturizing and the price is so inexpensive I don't feel guitly for wearing it (around the house of course). The logo on the container is cute too (but I don't care for the ingredient list written on the side of the tube)..
It wears off quickly and I do have to reapply quite often, but for $1.75, who cares? Definaltey a repurchase.
I had to take an extra lippie off because of the floral taste the lipstick has. It's still a great product though, but I felt I needed to give a more honest review.
I am still giving this a good review despite how it looked on me. People keep saying this is a pinky-beige, but I am sure this is coming from tanned medium-dark skintones. On fair-medium skins however, this is a deep browned rose. On me, the color is really harsh, and it ages me.
The texture is silky smooth, and well-pigmented. Nyx has no smell, and it can bleed outside of the lipline, since it's so creamy. I am sad this looked so unflattering on me, but it will look good on somebody else. :] continued >>
I had been after a cooler neutral for fall/winter & Ulta had a BOGO, so I decided to try this popular shade. At first, I really wasn't sure about it as it seemed too cool & mauve for my fair olive skintone, but then I tried the NYX Mauve liner (despite the name, not purplish at all) with it, which transformed it into a lovely, truly neutral pink beige. It will be just what I need to complement the plum & violet eyeshadows I'm wearing this season. For such an inexpensive l/s, it's good quality: nice and smooth although not the best lasting power. Hopefully more of the stores will pick up this great budget line - my local Ulta has a limited selection & NYX has a huge product range that I'd love to try.
Interesting how this lipstick works for people in a variety of skin tones (based on other reviews) but it looked AWFUL on me. I thought it would be a nice pinky color but its more muave on me and with my olive nc-40 skin it just looks...odd. Makes me look even more olivey-yellow.
I dunno, the color is pretty and all but not on me.
So I gave it 3 stars because it is very creamy and didn't dry out my lips. If the color worked I probably would have bought it again, but for it just makes me look WEIRD...my bf sort of grimaced when he saw it on me...hahahah
I really didn't care for this product. While the formulation is smooth and rich, the color looks horrible on me! Thalia is very deep rosey/mauve with strong blue undertones, and makes my teeth look yellow and skin jaundiced! Be very weary of buying this online because the swatch on the website looks nothing like the true color. The scent is really strong, too.NYX has much nicer shades than this. I would give it a 3, but the taste and smell is horrid.
NYX Thalia actually reminds me a lot of NARS Foulplay gloss which is one that I have purchased over and over again.
PROS: Formulation feels good, it isn't too slippery but not exceptionally matte. Just average. The finish is opaque. The pigmentation is good too - it covers my lips naturally darker pigmentation. Price is always a plus too! I paid $1.75 for this shade.
CONS: The color is slightly darker than I want it to be but it isn't unworkable by any means. I like it but I don't love it the way I wanted to after seeing swatches of the shade and reading the reviews here.
I would not purchase this shade again, but I would purchase more NYX lipsticks. So far the wearability is decent, the pigmentation is decent, and the smell isn't a complete turn off.
The color of this lipstick reminds me of a darker version of Mac Blankety. While I did like the color and texture, the staying power of this was completely lacking. This and Narcissus were two lipsticks I bought to try out NYX because of all of the hype - and I just won't be buying again. I can see how this line would be great for teenagers or women with very small makeup budgets, but I would honestly rather pay a bit more to get a better product.
The packaging, although flimsy, is well-designed. I like that the bottom of the tube shows the color of the lipstick and the top has the shade name printed on it. I store my lipsticks standing up and I definitely prefer packaging that clearly identifies the shade.
I LOVE THIS COLOR!!! Is a nice dusky rose and mauve tone - is not birght at all is matte and it super creamy!! I LOVE IT!!!
for reference I am an NC42.
This is a great matte lipstick and a bargain at $2US.
Creamy dusky rose with pink and mauve tones.
Smooths on easy and looks simply gorgeous.
I wear alot of purple and pink and this matches everything effortlessly.
This is definitely the lipstick that I reach for the most.
If you wear a primer this lipstick has pretty good staying power and would give more expensive lippies a run for their money.
One of my favourites.
