I bought this in 115 ivory when I probably should have got porcelain but this one had cooler undertones which I liked, its not great for oily skin. a primer and setting powder helps. but I like the smell and the weightless "gel" consistency. not great coverage, concealer needed! but for more of the bb cream lovers this is a good alternative. also has spf 15 which I do like! you get 1 fl oz of product but you waste at least half of it trying to pour it out and what's stuck to the sides after gone. the lid and bottle are a little on the bulkier side since its square but oh well you can't have it all from a drugstore $7.00 foundation. wouldn't repurchase considering my skin type.
This has been my favorite foundation for about 6 months and I still love it as much as I did the day I got it. It has been said that it makes your face an oily and streaked mess, but it works great on my dry skin. It has medium coverage, but it isn't build-able or it will get cakey, so it is great for evening out the skin tone but also covering some blemishes as well. I wear colors 110 in the winter, and 120 is getting too light for me, but both colors matched me perfectly. For me, it doesn't feel like anything is on my face. There are only 2 bad things about that I have found. The staying power is very poor. It stays about 4 hours and then I have to re-apply it completely, which really sucks, so I only wear it for short trips and such. The second downside is I don't like the pout-out top. Overall, this works great on dry skin, but I wouldn't recommend it for oily skin.
Super streaky and made my skin "feel" dry but LOOKED oily! Not to happy with this foundation :/ Also, bottle was very hard to control as you had to pour it out, especially with this very watery formula!
Just bought this foundation today in shades 210 and 220 because I wasn't sure which would be the right one for me.
210 is perfect for my skin with strong yellow undertones! Leaves a beautiful dewy natural finish and feels so light on my skin. Since I tan easily I will probably be using the 220 by the end of the summer.
It doesn't have an overly strong smell and its consistency is similiar to the Bobbi Brown skin range - quite runny.I didn't set it with powder but if I wanted longer wear I would probably set it with a translucent powder. Coverage wise it is light to medium.
I don't understand why there are so many negative reviews about it, because i love it already, but then again my skin is normal and not oily.
Best way to apply it: My Sedona Lace 928 Synthetic Flat Top. I've tried Real Techniques and it was streaky. I've tried my fingers and it was sticky.
Texture: Very thin, even runny, and wet.
Finish: Natural dewy (not oily dewy), illuminating, really beautiful, I think.
Coverage: Light to medium
Color match: 220 is a little too dark for me right now (I'm usually NC30, but I must be closer to NC25 now, maybe 210 would be a better match), but nothing too noticeable.
Does it oxidize? No
Skin type: Combination/dry
Smell: Yes, floral, I think, but very very subtle, I almost don't notice it.
Longevity: With no setting powder, 4 hours, tops. With a setting powder, it improves considerably, maybe 7-8 hours, but not intact.
Does it break you up? No
Overall rating (1 to 5): 3,5
Will you repurchase it? I don't think so. But I will repurchase the Fit Me Concealer, for sure.
I've read a lot of mixed reviews on this foundation before ordering it. Many people hated it, but mostly people with oily skin. Since I'm normal to dry lately (and maturing, btw) I decided to give it a try.
Overall, I really like this foundation, but it gives me less coverage than I would like. The finish is quite beautiful to look at, but it feels wet, like it did not set, and maybe it didn't! It transfers terribly. A setting powder is an absolute must, but then I lose some of that natural dewy finish I like so much. And yet still, I don't feel the foundation ever sets completely, which is unsettling to me, and the main reason I'm not repurchasing. And this is from a combination/dry skin type. I certainly don't see myself wearing this foundation on hot humid Summer, when I get oilier.
I won't throw it in the bin, but I'll be using it only when I don't need a really reliable foundation on, when I don't care if it goes away.
The package is cute and classy. Luckily, I've got the European version that comes with a pump, because it would be messy without it.
I wish Maybelline would find a way to reformulate this and leave the finish as is, but make it set properly, like MAC's Face and Body.
EDIT: As it gets colder and my skin gets drier (with horrible dry patches around my mouth and nose), I find that this foundation is one of the only ones I can use and it lasts better than before, too. So, I'm increasing my rate from 3 to 4 lippies. I recommend this one for dryer skin types.
I love this! Great value for the price. Shade matches perfectly and very build able
To wear this foundation I usually have put on just a little . Because it gets really caked on. I don't know I just don't like the look that it gives.
I have this in shade 220 for my NC37 skin. It's just a tad too dark so I mix it with my moisturizer to lighten it. It is a light coverage foundation and I think this would work good for somebody with dry skin. My skin is combination and not even oily but this foundation makes me shine like crazy after a few hours. I use the matching powder but the powder looks cakey when used over this foundation.
This is the perfect summertime foundation in my opinion as it is light, dewy and refreshing. I mix this with my Maybelline bb cream and it seems to work well for me. I would recommend you use a powder with this or else you will look greasy and the foundation will come off.
I HATE THIS FOUNDATION. I bought this after hearing so many good reviews but all it did for me was make my skin an oily mess. I have combination skin and I don't remember if this foundation is oil free or not, but it was so thin it literally ran down my face. Even with powder over top, it was still wet to the touch and would never dry. I finally gave it to a friend.
