I really like this foundation! It's definitely light to medium coverage and to me it feels more like a tinted moisturizer than a foundation. It goes on very light and silky. I love the dewy effect it gives, but I usually apply a powder over it to make it a bit more matte. It smells great too! I don't think this would work for people with oily skin however. Also, they don't have a very big selection for darker skin tones. The shade 355 (suede) is a perfect match for me. This is one of those foundations that you can blend and make work even if the shade is a little off. It is a bit pricey for a drugstore foundation, but buy it on sale when its B1 G1 1/2 off. It doesn't last as long as high end foundations and my face gets a little oily at the end of the day, but it's pretty decent for a drugstore brand!
I generally like the quality of this foundation - I was curious after I found that this was the foundation of choice for some catwalk shows.
This products gives a very dewy finish however if the day happens to be humid, at the end of the day it may look greasy ( I have normal/combination skin). It gives a very flawless and youthful look and has SPF which is great for the Australian weather.
However my only gripe about this product is that the shades are too orange/pink based. There is no shade to suit my NC 30 skin tone. That is the only reason why I won't repurchase again.
I love how easy this is to blend, it smells nice and fresh, and it is so light weight on your skin. Thing is, my shade was too light for my complexion. Im about an NC30 or NC35 and i picked up the shade 335 Dune. Unfortunately it was too light for me. It also left a white cast on my face, this definately isnt great for photography. I may pick up a differrent shade, until then i will purchase the neutrogena healthy skin. I'll update later(:
This foundation was really disappointing. On initial application it went on very smoothly and blended quite well. It looked good in the morning despite the sheer coverage, not cakey and relatively matte, but I found that by the time school let out (3:00) it had done some odd stuff. I'm not exactly sure what happened, but it seemed to have sunk into my skin and my pores looked huge and were very noticeable, and also my face was an oil slick. It wasn't attractive at all. Another thing to consider is that it's relatively pricey for a drugstore foundation (I got mine at Target for $13.49). It also has pretty sheer coverage and is more like a tinted moisturizer than a foundation. Overall, I wasn't very happy and definitely won't be purchasing it again.
I really wanted to like this foundation. I liked the smell, the consistency was nice, and the shade Alabaster was a perfect match. Unfortunately it irritated the skin on my cheeks. It caused a burning sensation which wasn't overly pleasant. It didn't cause much redness but I didn't really leave it on long enough to really irritate it as I removed it almost immediately after. That being said, I will try it again on a day when my skin is a little oilier as it may have just been irritating some unusual dryness I was experiencing due to the onset of winter weather. The packaging was quite nice but I did find it a tad expensive for a Cover Girl foundation.
Edit: I've since tried this foundation again, using a brush for application instead of my fingers and I haven't experienced the irritation I had after the first application. This is my current go to foundation which is not what I was expecting after what I experienced with my initial application. I still get a bit oily with it but no different than other foundations that I've tried. I'm increasing my rating to 4 as a result of my more positive experience with this foundation.
I'm not a huge fan of foundation since I have combination skin with an oily t-zone and some occasional dry patches, but I gave this a chance anyways. I am so glad I gave into the advertising because this stuff does wonders!! It evens out my skin tone, doesn't look or feel heavy and I barely need concealer when I have some blemishes. It might be just me but I think this stuff is inbetween foundation and tinted moisturizer. But just a warning this foundation is not oil free!!! It does not claim to be oil free so don't be surprised if it does break you out; although I have not gotten any major breakouts in the three months that I have used this and I do have acne-prone skin. This is also kind of pricey for drugstore at least where I live, but I think I will keep rebuying until I find something better.
It is a pretty good foundation coverage wise. It looks great in photos etc. however, this stuff broke me out terribly!! I have never problems with acne EVER and this made me get the biggest cystic pimples. it was bad. I never even knew it was the foundation that was doing it. I thought maybe it was something I was eating but it wasnt. the acne didnt even go away until a few weeks after I stopped using it. Then my face went back to normal with no pimples. Just recently I tried to use it again thinking that maybe it would be better this time. nope. After using it one time my face looks horrible right now. I have 4 huge cystic pimples. ;( I really did like the coverage but I just cant deal with the acne!
I got this product because of all the hype about it and I love it. It feels lightweight on your skin while giving light-medium coverage, it applys & blends out well, and it was pretty inexpesive ($13-$15) But this broke me out, witch is weird because my skin is not sensitive and makeup products don't usally break me out. Also this foundation does not wear for very long so I would reccomend using a primer and setting this with a powder. I really wish this foundation did not break me out because it would be the perfect everyday foundation. This dosen't make me look cakey either. As for the pakaging I really like it because it is light and it is in a squeeze tube so it is easy to dispence, you get 30 ml of product. Overall I really like how this foundation looks and feels on my skin but I hate the way it breaks me out and for that reason I will not be repurchasing this. Thanks for reading and I hope this helps! continued >>
I fell in love with this foundation. I was curious to try it when I read about a makeup artist using it on models for a fashion show in NY. And needless to say, it lived up to the hype, imo .. The coverage is light-medium but definitely buildable. And it just feels amazing on your skin. Its super blendable anyone could apply it. The only reason I didnt give it a 5 is because of the shade selection, or lack thereof. I got 325 (Sandstone) and although it looked like it would have yellow undertones , it was too pink on my skin. Which was a real bummer because I LOVED the way it looked on me, very natural and it wasnt a problem for my oily skin. Im hoping they will extend the shade selection soon because it is a great product !
Love this! Goes on nice and smooth, light to medium coverage so great for a natural look, which is what I go for! Bamboo shade matches my skin perfectly :)
I set this with powder and I don't have any problems with it being oily at all. Stay put all day, even when I get sweaty. My new favorite :)
Would like it better in a pump bottle but that's just my preference!
