Really dark color and easy to use. Not great for oily lids.
The gel comes in a little pot with a screw on cap. It's marketed as a 'gel' liner but the formulation is more like a cream liner. What's the difference? Gel liners tend to be more fluid and apply wetter and dry glossier. Cream liners on the other hand, are slightly dryer but creamier in formulation, and dry more matte (typically). (Do I really know what I’m talking about? Heck no, I’ve come to that conclusion off observation; cream or gel they could very well be the same thing.)
I really do like Maybelline’s Lasting Drama gel eyeliner and even the crummy brush it came with. Application is easy and the finish is dark and matte. I definitely love the finish of this over other glossy liquid eye liners. My main issue is that this liner smudges too easily. Even after a few minutes it’s still extremely prone to smudging. Since this liner doesn’t ‘set’ or dry, combined with my oily eyelids, Maybelline’s Lasting Drama eyeliner stays put for 4 maybe 5 hours max.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this.
I'm always picky when it comes to eyeliner, but thissssss, oh<3
Pros:
Waterproof
No smudge
Very black color
I find it very versatile :)
So easy to do cateye makeup with!
Cons: hard to wash off.
It is like $8 but it's worth it! It lasts soooo long!
I RECCOMEND! :) continued >>
This stuff is good, not great. I'd probably give it 3.5 stars if MUA allowed.
I'd used MAC Fluidliners forever, but recently tried out L'Oreal HIP gel liner. That stuff is fantastic and 5 stars, for sure. However, after having an eye infection, I needed to toss my L'Oreal and replace it. I only had time to pop into Ulta, and they were out of the L'Oreal in brown. They had the Maybelline gel liner, and having heard good things about it, I picked it up (brown).
The color is very nice. It's a good rich, deep brown--not quite as dark as L'Oreal's, but it's still a good color. However, it smudges pretty easily and just doesn't hold up throughout the day. Wearing it on your lower lashline is pretty much out of the question, if your eyes tear at all. (It also gunks up my eyeliner brush moreso than any other gel liner I've used---a little weird, but I figure it was worth noting).
It's not terrible, and I'll continue using it, but I think I'll keep my eye out for some L'Oreal sales and make a point to stop at the drugstore to pick up the HIP liner.

This eyeliner was my first foray into gel. I wanted to try it first to see if I liked it before I spent the big bucks, and I loved it and haven’t used liquid since! I use a different brand now but this one definitely does the job and goes on beautifully, not to mention the brush it comes with is great! To make it stay on the eyes longer/not smudge, I go over it with an eyeliner brush and some black eyeshadow to set it, the same as you set foundation with a powder. This gel eyeliner is super great and if you’re interested in giving gel a go, I recommend this.
I like that this is very black and that I can easily do a dramatic winged liner, but unlike its claims, it is definitely not smudge-proof and waterproof. I experienced a lot of creasing, transfer and smudging, even only after 4 hours. Using the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion barely helped with the lasting power. Unlike its claims, it is definitely not smudge-proof and waterproof. As I am not a fan of racoon eyes, I will not be repurchasing this.
This just isn't for me. It takes ages to dry and you have to set it with a black eyeshadow. Or at least I did, which takes getting ready a few seconds longer. I also have somewhat oily eyelids and found this to be smudgy. A major plus though is that this product is SUPER easy to get a nice winged liner. I use it to line my tight line and not my lash line now though
I love this eyeliner and was lucky to be told about it! Was wearing revlon colorstay, bodyshop, mac and other eyeliner and i think it is by far the best!! Easy to get, to wear and cheap, i look forward to line my eyes everytime.
This was an okay product but it is a very misleading name. This is not a gel consistency at all! It is a cream in a pot. I use to the pencil from this line and didn't like it much. However this is better than that one.
I have still yet to find my HG long lasting eyeliner, but this with some eyeshadow on top is so far the closest. I got mine in brown which is a very pretty color. This eyeliner definitely is not 24 hrs like the claim but I was not really expecting much. This product does smudge on my Asian eyes but with eyeshadow I would say it lasts a good couple hours. I like the brush it comes with, and I use it everyday.
Overall it is a good drugstore CREAM eyeliner and the pot comes with so much product that you get what you pay for

Probably the best drugstore brand eyeliner I've used. My favorite is the Stila eyeliner pen which is very hassle-free to use and very long lasting, but if I don't feel like buying something expensive I would go for this one.
This is fairly smudge proof, though I find that if my lids get too oily, it gets a little smeary. Make sure to wash the brush every time for a smooth and easier application.
Love this eyeliner! I have quite oily eyelids and this is the best eyeliner that I've tried by far. I like the colour and the brush is really good, it's easy to apply and looks great. Although after a long day it can print/smudge a little but nothing a quick touch-up can't fix. Would definitely buy again.
