I bought this in their black colour.
I like the primer, it really does thicken my lashes, and makes them look amazing.
The mascara that accompanies it is mediocre, hence why I took off a lipstick.
When I first used this and washed it off, I was actually a little frightened to see the whole eyelash tube coming off. But it made getting it off very easy, which I like!! (I have blonde lashes and find that mascaras always seem to...stain my lashes but this didn't!).
The black mascara isn't very thickening which is something I look for.
I used this the other day, one and a half coats of primer, one coat of black followed by one coat of Black Pearl Covergirl Eye Exacts.
The compliments I got on my eyes and lashes were ridiculous! By the end of the day I was a little tired of hearing about how big, and beautiful they looked haha.
I don't really like paying for only the half the product, as it is $12.99, and I have already run out of the primer, but barely dented the mascara. I will repurchase if it goes on sale.
EDIT
I won't repurchase
after starting to run out I decided to use the primer only on days I wanted a little extra oomph in my look (so not on days for work etc)
My eyes had been increasingly irritated..and gooey (contact lense wearers would understand). I assumes it was because I was swimming more and probably the chlorine. After stopping this the redness, itching and gooey-ness went away. I used it again last night, after a few hours my eyes were red, irritated and my contact lenses were gooey. I tried this on and off. Definatly the culprit. Le sigh.
this product does what it says..it makes your lashes longer. I do like this mascara...but it doesnt thicken enough for me. I probably wont repurchase but I do like this. It isnt great mascara but its good! oo and it was 7 bucks. good price i think.

ICK! I hate this mascara. And to be fair, I gave it multiple chances, applying it many different ways. The first time was an absolute failure. I applied the primer first, then the mascara directly after (according to reviews) and my lashes were clumpy, hard, and straight up nasty. I then read the reviews here, and tried a new method the second time. I wiped of the excess primer from the primer brush and applied that, then did the same with the mascara. I didn't have a problem with clumpy, but my lashes still didn't look great. They were really stiff and unnatural feeling, and didn't hold curl AT ALL. Plus, washing them off was a pain (my water takes a while to get hot, and this mascara doesn't come off in cold water)...when the lashes did come off they looked disgusting floating down the drain - like spider legs, as another reviewer said. Anyway, this stuff is awful. I don't know what I'm going to do with the rest of it.
I will start by saying that I followed the directions given in these reviews prior to use so I did not have any of the issues with clumping etc. Once I did use a few times and had success what I noticed was that it did not really lengthen any more than any other mascaras and what I did not like is that it does not provide any curl. Even after I applied after using my lash curler it effectively straightens them out again. Once I tried to re-curl after putting the mascara on and my lashes stuck to the lash curler a little bit causing some pulling, but in the end it did curl again. Once positive is that I fell asleep with this on and it did not leave black smudges like all the others. In order to get the tubes off I used a warm washcloth over my eyes for a few seconds and then cleansed as normal and I did not have any problems. I will not buy this again. Still looking for HG mascara.
I bought this mascara because I was excited about the idea of something actually not smudging. And they're right, this doesn't smudge. However, it flakes like crazy--like all the way down my cheeks. Weird. I often got that spidery look (it is very easy to over apply this stuff), but I kept on using it because occasionally it gave me the type of lashes I've always wanted: long, dark, curved, and enough to "frame" my eye. However, this also made my lashes FALL OUT. This has never happened to me before, but I see that it has happened to a few other reviewers. Moral of this story: Be careful what you wish for.
Thanks for the reviews on this mascara - b/c of them my expectations were dead on. I love this mascara for a more natural look. I don't find my lashes to be spidery (only if I over apply), the blackest black is a great deep color & it DOES NOT smudge!! If I want a dramatic lash look I go with my trusty BadGal or Maybelline F&S - okay usually both at the same time :) as this is definitely just lengthening. I just want this for a nice, defined lash with dark color, I'm not expecting the world from it. But I do expect it not to smudge & be easy to take off; it performs beautifully on both counts.
EDIT: I took this down to one lippie, it has slowly moved to the back of the makeup drawer. Just can't quite love the look it gives & I've fallen in love with Buxom Lash. The look is 10x better lash wise & it isn't a flake prone as BadGal so this double app mascara is pretty much out the door as it's biggest plus was being flake free. Buxom provides that without the spider looking lash. continued >>
I bought this mascara on a quest to try different kinds of mascara both high and low end. Plus I had a coupon :) Anyhow, I tried this mascara and it performed ok. I got decent length from the buildable tips. I would have like to see some volume, but this mascara didn't state that it gave any. So oh well . My biggest gripe is that how short the mascara wands are. I wish they would revamp the packaging to store longer wands. All and all,I probably won't buy it again. I still like Colossal better out of the drugstore brands I have tried.
i purchased this to accumulate bonus bucks lol i used another brand that didnt have the two step process. this loreal version dont feel like plastic its not that dramatic either.. it does the job otherwise
Now, I know almost everybody hates this mascara! I myself actually hated it the first time I used it but then I discovered a new way to use it and I LOVE IT now! The first time I used it, I used the primer then the mascara and it didn't do crap. So then the second time I just used the primer bc I was like well maybe the mascara end of it is crap! So I used the primer side only and then I used my CoverGirl LashBlast and OMG! AMAZING! The primer side is actually really good, its just the mascara that ruins it. My lashes looked fake when I used LashBlast with it. Thats my daily routine for mascara now and its been like that for 2 months now. I love it. But I think Im gonna buy another mascara primer bc the primers really do make the difference!

Bought it after a friend recommended it and after I saw positive results on all my other friends who tried hers. Love it, one of the best I've ever used.
I only gave this a four because of a few things. First, I agree with some other reviews that it was clumpy but I've honestly never used a mascara where it WASN'T clumpy and this one worked to lengthen my lashes (which is amazing since I have really short lashes). Here's what I've discovered though, the primer really doesn't make THAT significant of a difference and if I use just the mascara, it doesn't clump.
Secondly while it is great that this product comes off with warm water, I was surprised that it was very difficult to remove with my make-up remover. While for me I think it's a lot less messy this way it does make the removal process a little longer. I disagree with some reviews that say it is hard to remove with warm water, the trick is to wet it with some warm water first (I like to run my fingers under warm water and then hold my lashes gently for a second or two) and then attempt the removal process (VERY gently, there is absolutely no need to pull).
As for the curl issue that some people seem to have a problem with, it definitely isn't a curling mascara but then again I don't believe it advertises as one. I curl my lashes prior to applying and it works fine, I haven't used the primer in awhile but it MAY have held the curl better with the primer, I don't quite recall, I only use primer when I go out at night.
If you are someone like me with short lashes (and really if you have sort lashes, no amount of volume or curl is going to make it look better), this does exactly what it says and it does it extremely well, every time. The clumping takes a little work but I hardly ever get clumps now and for me, I'll take a little bit of clumping for the length I get from this.
Yay, I have eyelashes now!
EDIT: For the first time ever, I curled my lashes AFTER applying this mascara and I got amazing curl (the mascara was slightly sticky on the curler though, maybe I should've waited longer). Accidentally/On-purpose fell asleep with my makeup on...woke up the next morning and my lashes looked exactly like they did right after I finished them the previous morning. I'd say that counts as being able to hold a curl.
