This is a really nice highlighter. I would imagine that this would work for several different skintones. I am NC44 and it looks great on my skintone. The only reason I wouldn't purchase this again is because I have very comparable/dupeable drugstore highlighters like Physicians Formula, that I got on a great sale.

I got this as a gift a few months ago so I can't really say anything about the price.. and I've been using it everyday ever since. LOVEE IT. I can almost compare it to NARS' Orgasm blush, although I do like this one better. I feel like it does the job of a bronzer/blush all in one. A little goes a long way, so packing it on may not be so pleasant. The way I use this is by sweeping my brush over the product twice and then blowing off the fallout, then I sweep it over my cheeks.. some down to my jawline and up on the sides of my forehead. It def. does the job and adds a subtle glow/bronze/pink blush to my face to add some warmth. I would only say the downside to this is the major fallout in the packaging. It's def. a great product if you don't overdo it.

This was the first MSF I got, about 2 years ago. I am an NC30 with golden tones and soft & gentle appears as as a muted slightly pink/peach toned beige on me. It is very shimmery and can be glittery if you apply too much. Soft & Gentle is very visable because of the shimmer so I use it at night time. I use a duo fibre brush (MAC 188) and dust it down my nose and along my cheekbones. A light hand really is key to using this unless you really like shimmery finish and want your pores to be accentuated. I personally do not find it to be garish or tacky at all, it gives a soft sheen highlight to my face that doesn't make me look like a disco ball. Like I said - it's all about what you use to apply it. Don't use a fluffy or dense brush unless you want an overly metallic finish. Lasts all night long on me and a little goes a long way so the pan lasts forever, which justifies the price. It's not HG for me but nice to have.

After all the good reviews everywhere, I recently bought Soft and Gentle and had a high hope in this product. I found this product a little disappointing because it's way too shimmery to give a natural glow effect. My skin looked oily after putted it on and it does maximized my enlarged pore than ever. I used it with MAC188 brush and my face still look too oily.

So I'd not recommend this product to all the oily-combination skin girls out there. I think it's only good for the normal-dry skin and poreless girls.

For some of you who made the same mistake as I did, I found this product still work great on brow bone and I like it as an eyeshadow too, it makes my brown eyes pop.

Even when putting very very little on the brush, this highlighter is wayyyy too shimmery. The shimmers/sparkles/flecks are way too obvious of a highlighter for putting on the face. It'll look like you put a bunch of sparkles on your face. You don't want that! You want something that looks less obvious and more natural.

--Look at yourself in the sun after you put it on. It's not cute.

Should've returned it when I had the chance, so now I have this sitting at the bottom of my makeup drawer, and I don't know what to do with it. Stay away!

Beautiful product, and pretty to look at. I love how MAC's packaging lets you see the product (unlike NARS) and it is really expensive but it will last forever!

I picked this up a few weeks ago. Originally I loved it. Nice loght reflectant. But now when i look in the mirror at work, i see that it fails to do anything under those terrible flourecent lights. So I dont use it unless I'm going into more naturally lit places, or if someone is around with a camera.

It is however, easy to apply.... I will NEVER run out of it.. I can't imagine. It's expensive .. i think i paid $34.00CAD.

I do find a little bit of glitter in it really. I'm not a fan of glitter on my face. Occassionally on my eyes, but on my face, i just feel like its too juvinal. Kind of like wearing big BLING necklaces to the office.
But it makes you look damn radiant in the sun. So this I LIKE :)

Love the packaging, easy to pick out what your looking for with the see-through top.

Again, this is a MAC product for a specific purpose. Just cause it doesnt fit every make-up need doesn't make it a bad product, it just doesnt do EVERYTHING. I like it, buts it not an everyday product in my opinion.
