Meh. This mascara isn't anything spectacular, but it's not bad, either. It seems to clump my lashes quite a bit and makes them stiff and flaky and just yucky. It doesn't add any remarkable length or volume, my lashes would almost look natural after one or two coats if it didn't clump them together so badly! The cost was fairly cheap and the packaging design is nice, but I wouldn't recommend it nor would I repurchase.
This mascara has a bad formulated smell. Too me it smells like a mild burnt rubber scent. It didn't give my lashes any volume and it also made them clumpy. The only thing I liked about the product was that it was affordable. It went in the garbage the next week.
I have issues with most mascaras. And I usually end up with black smudges under my eyes as the day goes on. Not a good look. The only mascara that did not do that was Neutrogena Weightless Wax Free Mascara....and of course they discontinued it. I don't want to wear a waterproof mascara on a daily basis, so I began my hunt again. So far this one is the best. My lashes look great and minimal smudging. And for the price, definately worth trying. It is now my almost HG mascara.
I decided to give this a try since I'm always keen on trying new mascaras. After reading a majority of good reviews I was hoping this would be just as good or maybe even better than The Falsies.
However, I did not like this at all. For me it didn't hold my curl which is what I generally want in a mascara. My lashes already have a good natural curve yet this mascara made them straight a few minutes after applying even though I had curled beforehand! It also made my lashes stick together. No matter how well I curled my lashes or method I applied, this mascara just didn't do it for me.
It lengthens okay and darkens nicely but what good is a mascara that doesn't give great volumel?
I don't have too many "HG" products on my list when it comes to makeup. This one however, has made the list! I have long black lashes to begin with. This mascara intensifies them and gives them a very sexy look. It is perfect for everyday use and for a more dressed up look. Never had an issue with clumping even with more than one coat application. I've had issues with other mascaras where my lashes will harden up and a few will fall out, but this one actually made them look and feel healthier. If you have very thin, sparse lashes, then this product may not be for you. Yes, it is thick, so if your lashes can't support it, then they'll look weighed down. If you have thicker lashes, give it a try! One of the best drugstore mascaras I've found.
My friends swore by this mascara but I am not a fan of it. The formula is very thick and prone to clumping. It made my lashes stick together so I ended up with basically three mega-lashes on each eye. Not cute. It was a pain to wash off and it smelled bad, although the scent faded after it dried.
I really love Maybelline mascaras as a whole, but this one isn't one of my favourites-- I swear to mega-plush.
I didn't love the smell, but that is very dramatic, it really isn't that bad- I'm just sensitive.
It did as it claimed, it plumped up my lashes, but flaked after around 7 hours (which isn't that bad)
My only critique, one time, I went to open it and it exploded, and the brush was drenched in mascara, I still, even after cleaning the brush, have not been able to decrease the amount of product.... ugh.
I still love maybelline, but this wasn't the best
Love this mascara, really does thicken lashes like it claims. Not the best at lengthening them, but thats ok, because when lashes are thick and dark, it can be dramatic enough.
If you are worried about the lengthening aspect, then use this with an eyelash curler and it will do the trick. DEF my HG mascara, will always go back to this one..
I rarely comment on Makeup Alley but this one makeup product makes me want to speak up. Before I discovered Maybelline's The Colossal I had tried likely *hundreds* of mascara. This is the ONLY cosmetic I have bought over and over and over again. Even when I'm enticed by a mascara commercial or a peek into a friend's makeup bag I decided some time ago that it really wasn't worth trying a different mascara because there was no way it could be better than Colossal. Yes, there is a bit of an odor. It's totally unnecessary and silly. But! It fades in 3 minutes, tops. So if you can get past that, this mascara creates full, long, drag queen lashes with little effort. There's little to no flaking, and it washes off fairly easily with my CeraVe liquid face wash. With multiple applications you might get a little clumping but with a good lash comb (I use Sonia Kashuk's metal comb; it's terrific) it easily combs out, and besides, a little clumping should be expected with a thick mascara. Try it, it's not expensive.
I have always used Maybelline mascaras. They work great and I can't justify spending $$$ for something I will throw away in 1-2 months. This mascara separates, defines, volumizes and makes my lashes look great! The bristle brush is full and just the right amount of product comes out making it easy to build up. I usually do about 3 coats and I love the results.
