i got this as a gift from my mom who LOVES it and has really been raving it up. i have heard and read alot of good stuff about it so i was really excited to try it! well...it's ok. i mean, i don't see anything really special about it! it removes dirt and makeup w/o drying out your skin but so do a million other cleansers that cost a whole lot less. and personally, i need more exfoliation when i'm scrubbing off my makeup and i just can't get that from this + my hands. i actually prefer my Target brand generic cleansing cloths to this! atleast w/those you just add water and get cleansing and exfoliating in one. i'll use this for the days when i haven't worn any makeup, because it is a nice cleanser, i just won't be repurchasing.

I tried a bottle of this a few years back (like maybe 5 years). I didn't think it was anything special. It kind of smelled bad, didn't clean my eye makeup well, and left my skin tight. Unless the formulation has changed, I can't figure out what the hype is all about.
Just got a load of Philosophy products from QVC yesterday, mainly because I wanted to try various things that have been discussed here. I used the Purity Cleanser last night, and found it to be extremely good. I received a lot of samples in my order, so I used half of one of the Purity samples and it cleansed my entire face and neck, plus gave me enough to do my hands, while I was at it. It's also GREAT for the hands! Anyway, one night of use isn't going to tell me too much, except that it did a great job of removing my BE mascara, and it didn't irritate my eyes at all. My face felt a bit tight afterward, and I noticed my pores looked smaller. At the same time, my skin felt soft and smooth. I applied some of another sample, Hope in a Jar, and it was a nice, light moisturizer, although I also bought a jar of the WHINE cream, so will probably use that for a night cream instead. I have fairly normal skin with no breakout problems, so I'm lucky in that respect. However, I'm past 50 and need extra help with moisture and wrinkle reduction around my mouth and eyes. The cleanser really seems to be a good way to prepare the skin for moisture, so I will continue to use and update after a few weeks. So far, so good! It's a bit pricey, but you don't need much, so it should last a long time.
i absolutely love this stuff. i have oily, acne-prone skin so i have to be very careful about what i use b/c most stuff irritates my skin but not with purity. i've been using it since 2006 with awesome results. it fully cleanses my skin after only one wash and fully removes my eye makeup. i have recommended this product to anyone who'll listen. a 16 oz. bottle runs about $32. it's a little pricey, but very much worth it. purity is my HG cleanser. i don't use anything else.
Doesn't dry out my face, so I like it alot....just started using it 2 days ago, so I have to see how clear it makes my face
I have normal to slightly combo skin. I use this to wash at night after removing my eye makeup. My skin feels soft and smooth when after I rinse. It doesn't leave my skin dry or tight. I apply a light moisturizer afterwards and my skin has been great since I started using it.
Good product.....if you buy it in a kit. Otherwise it's a bit pricy. It works well for my very dry skin, rinses off easy. After 2 weeks my skin is noticeably better.
TIP/Update-- it's better to apply this with less water..... basically I just wet my hands and than apply it to my dry face....previously I was wetting my entire face first. You can also try it in your hair to strip out product build up then condition as you would. I really like this product. It's not drying or irritating and it doesn't cause breakouts.
I'm sure I don't need to review this, but I will. This stuff is the BEST ever. I will not search for another cleanser. It is gentle, effective, takes my make-up off....enough said. I've read that trying to get 'good ingredients' out of a cleanser is pointless, so I don't feel the need to find an anti-aging cleanser. This does the job of cleaning - it's purpose. So to me it's a winner! I love it!!! I buy the 32oz off QVC and it's lasted me 7 months already with at least 1/3 left to go. What a value!!

I don't really see what the big fuss is over this cleanser since to me it's average. It has this herbal scent that I didn't particularly like that much and was pretty pricey. It didn't clean all of my makeup since I still had smudges underneath my eyes after washing. In addition there is absolutely no difference from using Purity Made Simple and using cetaphil.
Every few months, I switch cleansers because I get bored or i think my skin has become "immune". However, I always go back to Purity. It's gentle, it has a light smell - which I like, kind of anise-like. And, most importantly, my skin always looks its best when I'm washing with this cleanser regularly. I have combination skin and I actually think that my skin is less oily when I use this. Also, it doesn't dry my skin out. I have tried many facewashes - in particular, I've used Murad, Cetaphil, Bliss, Noxema, Aveeno, L'Oreal, Oil of Olay, Clean and Clear, and Clinique products regularly in the past. Purity is by far the best.
