I got my make-up professionally done for my birthday party on July 18th. I felt totally confident because I looked in the mirror right after I had it done, and all my pesky painful blemishes felt and looked invisible.
But I looked at pictures, and videos of that day (with high quality digital cameras, both with&without flash, during the day & @ night time) and my skin looks like rubber! All oily, and fake. But you can't see any imperfections...just weird looking skin.
I thought it was just the camera but then I thought, maybe it's because I only had access to a mirror right after I had my make up done. It was a warm summer afternoon, so if you're looking for long-lasting...I wouldn't reccommend this. I went back to the counter where they did my make up because I really loved the products they used on my eyebrows...I looked around at the MAC make-up artists...and their skin looked the same way! Rubbery and dolled up but their flaws were concealed...I assume all the products they use are from MAC so if a customer asked what they are wearing...they can promote the line.
Did not break me out, but I'm looking for a more natural looking coverage that can also help my naturally oily skin...
Kudos for the coverage though...
I have tried every foundation out and this is by far the best. i have allergic reactions to alot of things food, face wash, cosmetics ect. this didnt flare up my skin and it covered everything and evened out my skin tone and hid the scars on my face from eczema. a definite re-purchase!!!!
AMAZING COVERAGE!!!!!!!!!!! When the girls on MUA say that this has amazing coverage there not joking! The MA at mac said that this was medium to full coverage, and she was defintley right. I used to use covergirl clean makeup, and I've used maybelline mineral power and those don't provide enough coverage but this does! All I can say is that if mac ever discontinues this I will cry and cry!
EDIT: OH why does this have to clog my pores!!!!!!!! This stuff was soo good but I get a small pimple every time I use this!!!!!!!! I will still use it though!!!!!
I absolutely LOVE this foundation. I usually have a really hard time finding the right foundation color for my skin tone since I have darker skin, but this matched perfectly! They matched me as NC45, and I love that this foundation doesn't oxidize to a completely different color on face after a couple hours. I've yet to experience any breakouts, and the foundation stays on for quite a while without melting. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!
This is a pretty good foundation, it makes me look flawless and hides my imperfections. It lasts for quite a while, I have yet to finish my bottle. However, I do have to say that it feels like I have a lot of makeup on when I wear this.
Oh how I wanted to love this foundation! There were so many pros. I blended like a dream, gave a great amount of coverage (buildable, as I like mine fuller), photographed brilliantly, the list goes on. The shade was incredible as well at matching my skintone(I'm an NW20), better than any foundation I have used before. This is why I was able to overlook the fact that, within the first four or so days of using this product, that my acne was worsening. I kept wearing it for a few more days but after a week and a bit I had to stop using this because the condition of my skin became horrendous. If this product works for you I am jealous because it is perfect, but something in the formulation just seems to be off because my skin looks awful.
I am already on my 3rd bottle of this! lol I love it. I know alot people say they break out from using this foundation, but it hasn't happend to me. YAY!!! It does cover alot, but I have some acne scarring so I still need a concealer to cover that up. I apply my foundation with MAC's 187 brush and it really makes a huge differnce. It gives you an airbrushed look, not cakey!
I love this product! I first bought it in a department store in Ireland as I am pale with freckles and find that when i wear fake tan for a night out, its very difficult to get a decent foundation which matches my tan and provides good coverage while not being too thick and orange. And this is it!! While it does take a bit of practice to get used to using it, I find that moisturising, waiting 5 mins, then applying (without primer as this makes it too slippery) then the important bit...WAIT 10 mins, maybe do your eyemakeup or hair but make sure you wait.....then apply powder with a brush (I use Max Factor medium powder) et voila!
While this is pricey in Ireland (€30), it is definately worth it. However I did use it during the day once and it was waaaay too heavy and as for the breakouts, I find giving your brush a quick clean the next day (or that night after applying if you are a saint!) really helps :)
LOVE LOVE LOVE for nights out and it stays flawless through bright lights and dancing...the proof is in the photos!
Ok, I just recieved this in a swap earlier today. So I didnt pay for it But I gave the price around 2 since my HG chanel is ove r$50. basicall MAC and clinique are like the NYC and WetnWild of highend makeup considering prices. Anyway I have a difficult skintone to match. Very fair with yellow and some rosey undertones. Usually foundation for fair ladies are very pinktoned, ghostly or too organge but not this, the match is perfect. the only other match I found that was perfected is in two other foundations.(Prescriptives Flawless makeup in Camilla and MAC studio Fix Powder in C3. So that is amazing considering how many foundations i have tried. Second is Coverage. yes it is a full coverage which is what I need for the moment but you can have sheer coverage if mixing with strobe cream, moisturizer or using a sponge. Third is how well it adapts to my skin. I have combo dry skin and doesnt cakeup or flake around dry spots if using a moisturizer which is great. I'm not acne prone but so far I haven't felt uncomforable in this foundation even though its full coverage it doesn't feel heavy at all on my skin. Fourth is finish, I think it gives a beautiful natural matte finish doesnt look cakey at all. My husband said what nice skin you have instead of what nice makeup which rose my confidence.I took photos and even though this has SPF I dont look so damn pale. The only 2 cons are that the bottle doesn't have a pump and it smelll like paint lol. but def. try it. Go to MAC store or counter and get color matched and samples.,or even swap like I did. You have nothing to LOSE! I'm swapping again for another bottle! :D :D :D :D
The only way I can wear this *almost* successfully is if I have primed before hand and have access to blot powder throughout the day.
It has a dewy look to it, not shiney and not matte either.
It goes on ok but throughout the day it moves into my smile lines which is not really what I want.
Coverage is good but I still need concealer, using this combo though can make it quite heavy on my skin.
