Im on my 3rd bottle of this & its pretty much amazing. I apply this with my 187 and it looks flawless. I get a lot of compliments and it doesnt break me out. Will buy again
The girl at Mac talked me into buying this. She promised that I was an NW 15. I thought it was too dark. I got home and found out that I was right. They don't make a shade light enough for me. It also dried me out (which she promised it wouldn't) The skin on my forehead was flaking even though I had prepped my face and made sure there was a smooth canvas for application. No brush or sponge made a difference . It made me look orange. I mixed with some cetaphil lotion and used it was a tinted moisturizer just to use it up. I don't think Mac foundations are for me. I actually had better luck with Revlon color stay.
-Relatively well-priced for a department store foundation
- Lol that's about it
- Super super drying. I have combination skin and dry spots around my nose; this makes it worse! I just hate that, it gets worse especially in the dry Australian winter.
-NC25 was way too yellow. I have strong yellow/olive undertones, and this foundation made me look more yellow? It was weird
-No one. I would get something better. Though I'm still trying to find my HG.
-People with no dry skin whatsoever.
-If you can find a right shade without making you too yellow.
i bought this product because it gives me an all over FULL coverage. although this product is good to cover all over your face it gets everywhere. it does not stay on your face so i reccomened those who want to buy this , buy a setting powder along with it and set it also with powder foundation because i believe it looks best combined. i am an nc30 olive skin with dry and an oily t zone so i reccomend this for a flawless look.
I love this foundation! It covers my imperfections very well while not making my face look cakey. This looks more natural on my skin than BE mineral foundation. The only downsides are that 1. the packaging is not ideal 2. the color doesn't match me perfectly (NW20 too pink while NC20 too yellow). One lip off for those reasons.
For ref I'm a NC37-42
+Pros: After trying the Revlon SFlex range, Mac is great for yellow-toned skin. Great color match. Great coverage, last about 4-6hrs before i need to use blotting tissue.(oily skin)
-Con: Pricey, foundation rubs on clothing more than the Rev SF. Packaging is the norm, only good thing is there is an optional pump you can attach.
=Verdict: would buy again because its long lasting, and it has a good yellow-toned color match(so far).
I'm so disapointed! :( I had just been to the dermatolagist and finally got the clear skin I have always dreamed about. And splurged on foundations, brushes etc. I really wanted to love this product after seeing alot of people raving about it, and don't get me wrong I saw the warnings about it too. I have a REALLY oily t-zone and big pores on my cheeks, and im acne prone so i was reeally hoping this wouldn't break me out. It hasn't broke me out, but i went from having no pimples to a few big red ones popping up out of no where. :( But this foundation has FANTASTIC coverage and works reallly well with the 109 brush. (I know its for contouring but it works sooo well for foundation.) I wish I had asked for a sample or something first, as I will be now using Revlon colourstay as it is sooo much cheaper and doesn't break me out. Its so sad as it studio fix gives me such flawless skin and such a good match! :( and staying power isn't the best on my oily t-zone either. >.<
I would recommend this to Combo/Oily gals. It looks amazing on combo skin. It made my dry skin look even drier. Plus I was matched to NW 15 and it was too yellow for me. I guess I just need to live with the fact that MAC doesn't have a good color for me. Returning it tomorrow.
I use this foundation only when I am going for a night out. I found that if I used it every day it would make any sprouting pimples I had much worse, even though I wash my face before make up and before bed. It has great coverage and if you put too much on it feels cakey. But I will still continue to use this foundation for now but I am totally open to a new kind. Over all it's a good buy if you don't have acne proned skin.
I prefer revlon colorstay than this, has no staying power for me. Only lasted about 3 hours and made my skin rather oily.
