Basically decent mascara. LOVE the brush. Formula is fine -- up to a point -- and then FLAKING.... Doesn't clump my lashes or glue them together; don't need to use a comb with this mascara (which is a plus to me). Makes racoon eyes pretty easily. Moderately priced. There's better out there....and certainly a whole lot worse!
This mascara looks fairly nice going on, but it leaves tiny clumps on my lashes and starts flaking off into little black dots all around my eyes... Gave it 2 lippies as the wand/brush is nice and separates well. But does not wear well.
I like this mascara, and I am the queen of mascara, ha ha. Seriously, I have tried just about every mascara out there, from cheap to pricey. This is a great mid priced mascara. A tube lasts a long time, it doesn't ever smear, or leave shadows under your eyes at the end of the day. You can curl your eyelashes AFTER ( don't get me going on eyelash curling, I am obsessed and do it several times a day), and it won't pull off. I usually go with a lengthening only mascara, because the ones that promise fullness usually have too many fibers, but this one is good ! I will continue to buy this. I wear contact lenses, by the way, and it doesn't irritate my lenses or eyes.
My main criteria with mascara is making my lashes look long without clumps (I hate thickening mascaras as I think they look unnatural and whorish). This mascara does a more than fair job of this. If I use a lash comb after this my lashes look beautifully long and natural and it keeps the curl in my lashes all day. Unlike other reviewers I don't have any problems with it flaking - it's possible that using a lash comb makes all the difference. Downside with the packaging is that a little bit of mascara can come out of the tube as you're putting the wand back in.
I wasn't very impressed with this mascara. The color and consistency were ok, but it flaked like crazy on me. When I would come home at night I would have little black flecks all under my eyes. I've actually been using covergirl professional all in one waterproof mascara and I like it a lot. It was recommended to me by a makeup artist and it lasts all day without flaking or smudging. It doesn't clump as long as you apply it sparingly at first and layer as needed. The price i great too
I read the lukewarm reviews for this product before purchasing a inexpensive tube on ebay. all in all i like this product, as far as clumps – as suggested by one reviewer – i just add a couple of drops of water and its great! its a good rich black, which i am really happy with. the smudging is not an issue as i use a mineral foundation/concealer powder. maybe doesnt please everyone but i am so happy i am writing this review!
I tried this a couple of years ago when I just started wearing makeup on a more regular basis - and back then, it was a wonderful mascara. Gave me a bit of volume, darkened my lashes, but no real lengthening effect. The black is not very black either... kind of more like a dark brownish black. I have found better mascaras since then... therefore I would not repurchase.
Got this as a deluxe sample on Sephora. It's really dumb. There is almost nothing that clings to the applicator and then consequently, nothing that gets on your lashes. You can hardly see the product on. It's definately a natural look and not anything close to "major lashes." If you want something cheap and good, try Loreal Lash Out - definately a great bargain mascara.
UPDATE: After using this a couple times it is not that bad. I think there just wasn't enough product on the wand the first few times I used it. But still not the best mascara.
I agree with the previous reviewer-- this is a ho-hum mascara. The only really spectacular thing about it is the price- last I saw, it is under or close to 10$ which beats the 24 ++ you will pay for anything in Lacome's line.
I am so enamored with the rest of Stila's line, such as their fantastic eyeshadows and innovative lip glosses, that this mascara disappointed me. It's decent enough to help your eyes look awake in the morning, but there is definitely no "flair". I wish they'd come up with a great fiber mascara one of these days. I guess their research and investment goes towards other products and not mascara. Sigh.
