I brought this thinking it would be good. It doesn't really do what it says it doesn't last long I have every single one and was disappointed so I threw them out. So overall I would not re purchase this product again.
Okay so just keep in mind: my lips are fairly normal, sometimes a little dry. They aren't super chapped or anything like that.
I tried this lip balm basically as soon as it hit the stores..there was just so much advertising and hype about it and I knew that I needed to try it to get an opinion for myself. I bought 'quenched'.
The taste was fine, and the smell was nice, subtle and not too overpowering. It did make my lips feel soft (yay) whereas I find that other balms just make my lips feel kind of rubbery.
Deciding that I loved it, I began to apply it hourly, then every half an hour, hoping to get even softer lips. BIG MISTAKE. It began to dry out my lips and they started to become chapped, something that I've never had a problem with before. This stuff goes with the saying 'less is more' because really, if you go for more, more will mean chapped lips. :(
I would still recommend this to anyone with fairly normal lips just wanted a bit of a softening. If you have dry or chapped lips, don't go for this as it won't give you enough moisture.
And remember DO NOT OVER REAPPLY THIS! Go for application every few hours, NOT every few minutes..or your lips will turn to crap
One of my best friend's loves the Baby Lips products and for my birthday present she included three different Baby Lips lip balms along with other nice gifts. I was excited to try them because these have been so popular in the market and almost every girl I know owns one. I am not a big fan of these. I do like the Peach Kiss one because it gives a very light, peachy-nude lip and it smells fantastic. These lip balms aren't very moisturizing though. I find myself constantly reapplying them throughout the day. The clear one called Quenched has a terrible taste. Every time I accidentally lick my lips when having it on, it leaves a bitter taste. I'm not a big fan of these. I LOVE the Nivea Kiss of Mineral lip balm. Now THAT is a good lip balm!
I really like this stuff! i bite at my lips a lot and they get dry super easily but this stuff works through the abuse i put my lips through! i don't like the tinted ones that much, i get the one in the green tube. not a biggest fan of the packaging, the cap sometimes falls off. other than that its perf
I THINK I have this kind... I'm not really sure. I have the Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm in the regular color (Clear-ish). I like the tube itself, the blue one with the clear cap that has the pink 'Baby Lips' on it. But the lip balm itself is really great, I can put it on and not have to reapply every five minutes. It's texture is really smooth and it's just overall a great product.
Maybelline's Baby Lips are seriously the best lip balms I've ever used. My lips are often very chapped and dry, and I used to treat them with Vaseline. However, I didn't like putting Vaseline on when I went out because it was too shiny and unnatural looking. These lip balms do not have that problem - they have just the perfect amount of shine to them without looking too weird on your lips.
Peppermint (SPF 20) is clear and though it's called "peppermint" the minty smell/flavor isn't that strong. My favorite is definitely Cherry Me: it smells like cherries, but when I put it on my lips I don't taste anything (which I actually prefer). Also it has a red tint to it that isn't too obvious - it's like a subtle and natural red lip tint. The color stays on fairly long and my lips feel hydrated throughout the day. I've only used this for about three days so far, but I can already tell that my lips are in better condition! Unfortunately I don't think Cherry Me has SPF at all - if it did, it would clearly say so on the label/packaging, which is the case with the Peppermint flavor.
A past problem I had with tinted lip balms, specifically Burt's Bees, is that I could never find one that was moisturizing enough for me. However, Baby Lips is both hydrating and well-pigmented, so it addresses both of my main concerns. And for $3, this is definitely a steal. I'm definitely going to repurchase this and probably buy more colors soon!
I love this product! Smells good and it protect my lips from sun burn. But the only thing I don't like about are the taste. Anyway I love this product so let's just foget about the taste.
I loved the basic quenched lip balm. It took a few days to get obvious results. The results were amazing. I had very dry lips because of the accutane medication I finished a few months ago. I loved every other kind after that. My favourite is the peppermint kind. And the colors are great, they're not overwhelming but there's still color.
To be perfectly honest, the selling point of this product is mainly in its fantastic marketing. Let's be honest, they're essentially the lip-smackers we all had as kids, just marketed well enough to sell to adults.
To begin with, the concept (and cuteness) of the 'baby lips' idea is ingenious. In addition to that, the colours and packaging are great. I was sold from the get-go and I have to admit, with such great marketing, I don't really mind.
Getting to the actual product, I had to say, it does its job.
I have the pink baby lips (mixed berry) and cherry me and quite like the slight pink/red tint that they give my lips. They smell phenomenal and are just easy to carry around. On top of that, they're reasonably cheap - $3-4 in Australia.
On the downside, the product isn't AS crazy moisturising as targeted products such as blistex, chapstick or lucas' pawpaw ointment.
I'd therefore recommend them for people with normal lips who are looking for a cute lipbalm that does the job and doesn't cost a fortune. If you have dry lips (or if it's winter and you need some serious conditioning like me) opt for a proper chapstick and once your lips are back in shape, go for the coloured baby lips.
PS. another plus is that it's not super sticky - it has a weird quality that makes your lips a bit pouty but it doens't feel thick/gloopy.
Oh and just as a warning, it's hard to buy one without wanting to own all the rest. It may just be the 10 year old in me who treasured her lip-smackers collection, but I constantly have the urge to buy all the other 'flavours'
