I have heard sooo many good things about this mascara, and myself I have it and is probably the worst mascara I own. My lashes are naturally quite long, but this thing..does nothing to enhance them. They actually appear shorter than without any mascara at all..! I use this on my bottom lashes as its the only thing that it's good for. Thumbs up for the colourful yet basic packaging though, Maybelline seems to do this alot.
I really like this mascara. I feel like it gets the job done. It doesn't clump my lashes, and I use it on my bottom lashes without any trouble. It doesn't really lengthen your lashes, but I'm not really looking for a dramatic look for everyday.
The packaging is simple and easy to use, not like some bulky mascaras.
I normally like silicone wands, but this one works just fine.
It's not my HG mascara but I love it because it gives lashes a very natural look.
I had never really liked the look of this mascara, but since its Supposed to be the best mascara, and the mascara freak that I am, I went ahead and got it. Anyways I was blessed with long, thick, lashes that normally work with all mascaras, and this so called "mascara" made me look like I had 5 Nasty spider legs growing out of my eyes! I ew. I honestly don't believe makeup artist actually love this mascara. I have bought the cheapest mascaras they make, and they were all better then this one. lol.
I've been using Maybelline Great lash Mascara since the first time i got my hands on this in middle school! This basic brush mascara does it's job without all the excess of "wands" and "clump free combs". It could be a little cheaper since it's been around for like ever and package quality is whatever, but then again it takes me 5 seconds to find it going down an aisle at any store, that neon green and pink.. cant be missed, the 2nd best mascara right behind Maybelline Colossal of course ;)
If you like this mascara and it works for you, that's great. I am posting this review because I recently realized, after using this product for years, that I'm allergic to it. I don't know what took me so long to figure it out, but it slowly dawned on me. I used to apply this to my lashes every morning, and about an hour later my eyes were burning, itching, and stinging. I thought it was just seasonal allergies or hayfever. Then I thought, what if it's my mascara? Since it's so popular and everyone seems to love it, I guess I never suspected that I could be allergic to something that maybe half of all women have used at some point in their lives. When I switched to a different mascara, the symptoms magically disappeared. There's something really harsh in their formula.
I really don't see why everyone hates this mascara... in australia mascaras are like $17 each for drugstore and i was low on cash so i bought this cause it was the cheapest, i purposely left it to dry a bit so it would hold a curl and it works as well as any other mascaras i've used. i look for a separating mascara that lengthens and holds a curl, which is exactly what this does!
I must be the only one in the world who hates this mascara! It clumps and flakes off. It just never worked for me.
Drug store mascara I've used for years. I say it's only worthwhile if you run the bottle under hot water for about a minute before application - the formula doesn't clump and can be more convincingly layered. It doesn't have bells or whistles, growth formulas or lengthening fibers, but if you've already got good lashes and are looking to make them darker and more noticeable, this is your mascara.
If you're looking for lengthening or crazy volume, that's not what this mascara is for.
EDIT: downscaled on the overall rating, just because I got tired of using this stuff after trying more products. It's been relegated to long-term storage in favor of lashblast fusion.
Not my favorite mascara, but it does the trick.
Average thickening/volume. Did not see an improvement in length but I already have average-long length eyelashes.
Average clumping with application. Some clumps are inevitable even if you're skilled at applying mascara; I can generally get away with 1-2 little clumps per eye.
The original formula is NOT waterproof and runs like mad if your eyes tear up. I have issues with dry eyes so random tear-ups are not uncommon for me, making this mascara a bad fit for me. I have perfected the art of dabbing/draining my eyes without disrupting my makeup, but this is just so water-sensitive that if my eyes get watery at all, I can't save it.
When ever I have a event I have to go to I use this mascara. I absolutely love it because the product doesn't clump like other mascara types. I would also recommend wearing Great Lash waterproof mascara if you think your gonna cry at all. The Great Lash waterproof mascara sticks to your eye lashes and doesn't smudge if you start crying. I highly recommend both!
