I have used this product in the past but stopped because I wanted to try some of the great new mu lines that were coming out (with the introduction of Sephora in the USA). I have to say, with even trying some really coveted cosmetics, I still love this powder. Evens out skintone. Lasts pretty well into the afternoon. Not drying for my peri-menopausal skin and DOES NOT break me out. Contrary to what the last reviewer said, mineral oil does not cause acne. The molecules of cosmetic grade mineral oil are too large to penetrate skin (http://www.webmd.com/content/article/106/108253.htm). I use Matte Beige (MAC NC30-35, Prescriptives Y/O #3 Flawless Foundation). I apply it with Bare Escentuals' Flawless Application Brush. I use a little concealer for areas that need extra attention. I gave it a four because, superficially, I find the packaging boring.
Even though I've moved past the realm of this powder, there are some really great things about it. First of all, the colors are pretty good (even though I do prefer the Stay Matte Sheers--specifically Stay Golden). In this powder I used Matte Medium, which was when I was about an NC 35ish. It was a neutral medium beige color. This powder is silky smooth, and has a slightly creamy finish. Now, this powder does have mineral oil listed, which is probably why for many years I never tried it, but then gave it a shot anyway. Well, it has never broken me out. And if you look at readings about mineral oil, they say that it is not problematic for acne prone skin. Luckily for me, this proved true. This gives sheer to moderate coverage, which i liked. However, the only reason why I moved on from this one is b/c I needed one to control oil and one that had a longer wear time on my skin. Clinique is slowly going away from the dark marble green and moving to a lighter green compact, so that's an improvement, however, I'd prefer that they move completely away from the green theme. So, this powder would be perfect for those w/ normal to dry skin that want a little cushion for their skin and don't mind slightly more coverage in their powder.
This (in Neutral Matte)is one of my very few continually repurchased products. Perfect coverage, no caking, does not congeal over places where concealer was applied to hide an imperfection. It may feel a bit masky immediately after application, but it reacts well with skin oils and soon sets very nicely. It is also very buildable for bad skin days.
This is the one thing I never leave home without, it's amazing. I have been wearing it for 15 years now and will probably be wearing it for the next 15. It makes things so easy, I just put on lotion and follow with this and my skin looks amazing, I still get compliments all the time. I have tried similar products over the years but always come back to this.
i have this face powder in 02 matte beige. it works well. i got it as a gift from when you purcahse something from clinique and you get sample products of theirs. it came in a nice little blue case with a sponge i threw away a long time ago. i use a brush to apply this and i love it.. it smells neutral and i dont break out.
I think the SA was on crack or something. This has MINERAL OIL in it...and we all know that it can contribute to breakouts. She said that it didn't break her out. Unfortunately, it wasn't the same for me. Although I won't break out HORRIBLY, I'll still get a tiny pimple somewhere on my face. So I can only apply it on my nose. I use this over my Superfit foundation, and makes me look really cakey if I'm not careful enough. The SA picked a bad color for me for this and my foundation (Matte Neutral/Neutral). They are both kinda...dullish beige with a hint of grey in it. Last time I checked, Halloween was marked for only one day of the year. Sorry, Clinique. I'm gonna pass on this.
I have to rate this poorly because of the terrible range of colors. I bought this quickly and regretted it. Couldn't use it - it turned my face the wrong color. There's not one shade in this line (Superpowder) I can wear - too peachy, too yellow, too rose. Sure, I'm pale, but I've been buying Clinique makeup off and on since high school, and only once (when I was in high school) was I so disappointed by their products' color choices.
best coverage ever! I have been using it for years, and always thing I will try something new, and everytime I come back to this powder - - and I have tried everything else out there....I LOVE this product!
I have been using this in "Matte Honey" for over 15 years, definitely my HG of all my products! I dislike liquid foundations, and enjoy the convenience of powder (yes, I do my makeup in the car). Depending on how much you apply, you can have as much/little coverage as you want. I prefer full coverage to hide imperfections, and am able to achieve this using the sponge applicator it comes with. I apply it dry, as it can look cakey if applied with a wet sponge. I have combination skin, and just have to touch up once in the day, more in the summer (although I'm thinking of getting MAC Blot to keep my shine at bay, instead). I use a primer to help it stay put all day. This shade gives me a natural-looking warm honey/golden colour (hence the name, I guess!). The case has never broken on me, nor the product. I suppose my only compaint is that once you hit the bottom of the pan it is difficult to get product from around the ring. I have ventured and tried other brands over the years (MAC Studiofix, Lancome, Estee), but always come back to this. I try to buy when Clinique has GWP so I can get little goodies. This is my FIRST review, so I hope I helped!
I am a big fan of Clinique MU (although I hate their skincare)..this is a HG product of mine, I don't leave the house without it! I use a regular, liquid foundation but have combination skin, so my cheeks and t-zone tend to get a little shiny as the day goes on. This powder is perfect for applying after blotting..creates a very smooth, natural look, disguises redness, and does not irritate my sensitive skin. The compact is pretty slim and handy, and comes with a mirror for easy application. This powder creates a very "finished", elegant (and not cakey or orange!) look when applied over regular foundation. I use 07 Matte Neutral.
