I can't believe that I have never tried the blot powder! I have combo skin but it gets really oily in the summer so I've been just using up packs and packs of blotting papers. Anyway, I was on a boat this weekend and it was quite warm (in the mid 80's) and I decided to apply the blot powder over my Face Atelier foundation (which is a dewy type foundation to begin with) and give it a real test. After about 8 hours, I could see just a tiny bit of "glow" coming through but for the most part my face was still matte. This is absolutely amazing! and over a dewy makeup in 85 degree heat and sun. I didn't have to blot at all (with blotting papers) and usually I would have been blotting every hour. I am NC 25 and medium dark was perfect. The colors do run light as everyone says. This is truly great stuff!
I can't add much to what has already been said, but wanted to make sure people paid attention to picking their color! I have been told I am an NC35 and also C4. I tried to use medium blot powder for the longest time and while it did what I wanted to do, it just seemed like not the "perfect" match. I went in and had a MAC mua tell me what would be best (without telling her I had medium) and she suggested medium-dark. So I swapped for it and I have been so much happier ever since!
I've never used any other pressed powders before but I have to say that I really love this. I don't look cakey or ghost-like and it takes away the shine very nicely.
This is probably one of the lifesavers of my month now. I ran out of blot sheets, and we all know that those are essential! SO I ran to MAC and picked this up. It works even better than blot sheets! I think it is medium-mediumdark that matched my NW20 skin. I will use this for like, ever. I took off one lippy because sometimes it can look a bit cakey if you have to put a lot on.
I have used a few MAC products in my time and most have really disappointed me (apart from Tendertones) until now that is. This pressed powder is the only one that really does keep shine at bay for most of the day. I hardly need to touch my makeup through the day maybe twice, which is great since most other pressed powders need to be blotted every two hours or so. There is not much colour transfer to the skin and it really does work. IMO this is the best blotting powder around. Will continue to buy this. A word of warning - the colours are lighter than the name would suggest so buy a darker shade. The fair is actually nearly white!
I am blown away by this. Seriously. If you have not purchased this yet, go out and get it. It's perfect for the summer months. I have dry/combination skin and I absolutely hate having shine on my nose and forehead. Just a swipe with a powder brush takes away all the shine and lasts almost the enitre day for me. It's so portable I can always take it and touch up if needed.
I have very oily skin. This powder kept me completely shine free for about 2-3 hours, and then I had a dewy look. After 4-5 hours, I had to reapply, but that is mighty impressive. LOVE this. It also lessens the look of my large pores so my skin looks so nice. I use the puff that comes with it so it looks a little powdery at first.
Not a day goes by that I do not use my MAC blot for touch ups. It is my hg blotting powder, love that it does not disturb my make up and just absorbs all the oily shine off my face. Thank goodness for MAC blot and I love the medium dark color for my MACNC35 skin tone.
This is officially my HG blot powder i love it! My oily T-zone is under control finally and without leaving that powdery old lady look on my skin! I have tried many different pressed powders, my previous favourite being the Chanel poudre universelle compact but this MAC has now absolutely taken over the position! If they ever discontinue this product i will be mortified!
Love this for my oily T zone! It doesn't accentuate flakes like other powders and gives my skin a nice soft matte look for the first couple of hours and doesn't cake when reapplied. The only thing I'd change is the packaging so that the puff it comes with doesn't sit on top of the powder. The thin plastic insert it comes with is annoying to remove all the time.
