This stuff is nice and smooth on your face. My mom uses this all the time.

Edit 4/9/09 I stopped using this fairly soon after this review. There are much better options out there. I have recently been on a product splurge. With fall approaching I am looking to get all of my makeup choice in order. So, I have tried LOTS of foundations the past few weeks. I have consulted MUA and Paula Begoun's book for so many hours, an innocent observer would think I was working on some really important research! Anyway, I must say that I REALLY like this foundation. I am fair, with a slightly cool/pink/bluish undertone. Sometimes I like foundations with yellow undertones to even out my red areas. However, I think CG makes some great foundation colors for women with cool undertones. I went with buff, which is a darker color than I usually wear in CG, which is Ivory Cream. Anyway, it was great. I put on moisturizer with sunscreen under it, and dusted some Rimmell powder on top and it was great...reduced pores, nice smooth coverage on my problem chin (see other reviews for more info) and it lasts! I definitely see myself wearing this often.

I think the name of this product is misleading because it's not very hydrating or long-lasting. I think that explains some of the negative reviews, because otherwise this is a nice light-coverage makeup. No scent, no shine/sparkle, and a convenient squeeze tube. A bit more coverage than a TM. It covers my rosacea redness and my enlarged pores. I still use a concealer overtop in some areas . It spreads nicely with fingers, and the finish ends up semi- matte which I like (I use powder overtop but just in my oilier areas). And while not "hydrating" it didn't dry me out either. I'm in my late 30s with combo skin with dry cheek area and oilier t-zone. No breakouts from this so far. Also, I find the lasting power decent. It fades a bit by the end of the day but doesn't crease or cake. And it's inexpensive which is always a plus. I'm going to use this on days when I don't need lots of coverage or lasting power.

No coverage and it slips right off. Really no point in putting it on in the first place.

Eh, so so. Doesn't have much coverage and it also doesn't last very long on the skin. Almay Line Smoothing is much better for wear and hydration.

If you have skin like mine which is sensitive combination skin with more redness than acne to cover this foundation is great. I find it lets my real skin show through, but evens it out and covers and discolourations and scarring that I have as a result of having acne as a teen. It does nothing to cover undereye circles or huge pimples, but for the price it is wonderful for just a light to medium coverage foundation. Having said that the colour selection is crap and I find I have to mix two shades to get a skin match, but this is still my HG foundation.

This is a very sheer, minimal coverage hydrating foundation. It will cover some redness but is so sheer that a concealer is necessary. It does feel more like a tinted moisturizer, and coverage is buildable. Unfortunately this foundation wears off quickly, so after a couple of hours it has totally gone. I set the foundation with powder, and on my oily areas I was left with clumpy powder but no foundation at the end of the day. This doesn’t last through a whole day as I prefer, but for casual wear this is fine. I doubt I will repurchase as I need something that has more lasting power and coverage. It is a nice foundation, but nothing special. It did keep my face nicely moisturized though. **UPDATE** I have worn this every day for the last week and have been told by my work colleagues that I haven't looked well for days! Definitely getting rid of this foundation now!

Very streaky, too dark for me, and this provides no coverage. :[

I received this item from my Friend J.

I have used it up in a few weeks. I am not a foundation girl but I appreciated this product. it looks very natural quite similar to a tinted moisturizer.

It, s non comedogenic on my skin.

Turns orange on me. Clogs my pores. I have the kind of pores that seem to overflow/overfill/the clog can be seen almost coming out of the skin. I had done extraction on a Sunday, bought this foundation (In ivory) on a Wednesday and when I took it off at the end of the day ---makeup remover & washing my face--I had clogged pores. Major. Pore. Clogger. continued >>
