Honestly, I love this mascara. It is dark, separates lashes perfectly, and most importantly; it does NOT flake. The only problem is that it dries out within like a week or two. Not down to buy it every week....
I hated this mascara. The brush is annoying and i kept poking myself in the eyes over and over no matter how many times i tried (ONLY mascara this ever happened with), the formula was thick and made my lashes spidery, and my eyes stung like crazy from it. I tried this mascara 5 times, the brown one and black and both were the same for everything wrong with it.
I have no idea what is with this product or why I kept poking myself lol, but I will not spend that kind of money to poke my eyes out and have them sting like crazy. I immediately grabbed my Covergirl Lasblast as usual and thought, ok...back to DS brand again. I am convinced DS is better for mascaras...I have yet to find one high end that has beat them IMO.
I wouldn't say this mascara makes me look like I have falsies on, but it is pretty darn good in terms of volumizing and lengthening without clumping or making my lashes look thick and spidery! It also doesn't smear on me, which a lot of mascaras do, so that I'm happy about since I won't have to keep checking in the mirror for darn smears. I've tried a lot of different brands from drugstore to department store, and this is one of the better ones for sure.
I love to wear this mascara when I am going out or whenever I want to have an extra dose of WOW. This lengthens and separates my lashes beautifully. Not a ton of thickening going on, but this mascara just works for me. I like the applicator, too. I don't know if I'll splurge for the full size, but I like that I can get a mini for $10. It seems to last a pretty long time.
I purchased my first tube of this at ULTA I honestly don't even remember how much it was, I think it was around $20, but don't quote me on that. I like the tube it has a nice amount of weight to it, not like plastic drug store mascaras. The formula is very deep black, cheaper mascaras seem to always look a little grey to me. This mascara is more wet than dry and I like that, because the result is less clumping. I have the most pathetic eyelashes, they're thin and short, but this mascara makes them look fuller, and a tiny bit longer, but personally I think that this mascara provides more volume than length. I use one coat for each eye usually and the result is much more natural than doing two full coats. When I do decide to double up I make sure to separate my lashes with a comb. If I get any of this on my lids, it is a pain to get off, even if my eyes get a little watery due to allergies it doesn't budge. The shape of the brush makes this wonderful to apply. But one thing you should know is that even though this stuff doesn't smear it does flake. Overall I would repurchase this and I do like it very much, but I'm always looking to try different maracas. :)
I also received this as my birthday gift from Sephora. I took away one lippie as this can be a bit tricky to apply. There's a definite learning curve, and if not applied right this can make lashes clumpy and gross. Once I got the hang of it though it really looks quite fabulous. My lashes are naturally long, and this adds that perfect balance of length and volume. While the spiky rubber brush itself isnt anything exclusive, I think the little extra kick is the little ball of bristles at the end. It's great for reaching the inside corner lashes. Wear on this is spectacular. I've never used anything but drugstore mascara so I have nothing m/e or h/e to compare it to, but after 12 hours no flaking or smudging. I really want to purchase this, but it's so hard for me to justify spending so much on mascara.
I totally caved and bought the full size version of this. This is my HG mascara that I have been searching for for years. I am a mascara fiend and have searching for years for the perfect one, and I have found it. I love bold, dramatic lashes, and this does not flake.
I received a sample size version of this to try out, and I'm glad I didn't spend money on this. I like the brush and consistency of the formula, but it pulls my pre-curled lashes down (I hate droopy lashes!) and made them feel "rubbery" to the touch. Not a fan.
i have the sephora birthday sample size of this mascara and have been using it the last 3 months. when i first opened the tube, i was not impressed by the formula as it did nothing special for my lashes. now, as the tube is drying out, the formula has improved to where it holds my curl, darkens my lashes, adds a bit of length, and appears to give my lashes a fuller look.... upon fresh application. HOWEVER, after a few hours.. my lashes don't look quite as good anymore.. my lashes uncurl themselves pretty significantly and unevenly .. appearing quite a bit unruly.. very unlike the look i get when it's freshly applied. if my lashes stayed the way the look when i first apply, i would actually give this mascara a thumbs up. however, since i wear my mascara for more than an hour a day, i'm none too pleased with the overall result. will not be purchasing the full size.
I got a free sample of this as I didn't want to pay so much for a mascara that I might not like. Now I'm running out, I'm in panic mode wishing I'd bought some more at the duty free shop in the airport! I already have long eyelashes but this product works better than almost any other that I've tried. For the best effect, I comb through my lashes and use an eyelash curler then apply 1-2 coats, being careful not to make it clump. The only thing I would suggest with this is that Benefit bring out a waterproof formula :)!
They're Real has a pigmented "blackest black" formula. The mascara wears well during the day and doesn't transfer on my hooded lids. Despite all of the positive, I just can't like this mascara. The formulation is so thick!
I have long lashes that tend to naturally stick together. They're Real makes spider lashes worst. The spikes at the end of the applicator don't really help with separating due the large mass of thick mascara that gets stuck all over it.
I think this might be fabulous for someone short lashes but my mine stick together too much to get the thickening affect I was hoping for.
