I typically stick with Revlon products. My go to has been the Colorstay for normal to dry skin. I have normal to dry skin with large pores, acne scars, acne prone, and fine lines. Every now and then. My skin acts up with revlon and no matter what I do my foundation looks like a hot mess. So I was looking for a nice light to medium foundation. I decided to pick this product up. I have heard the mixed reviews. So far I like it. It is a lighter coverage foundation. I don't mind that. I knew that buying it. I knew it gives of a dewy sort of finish. I don't mind that. Overall the foundation gives me the desired coverage. Lasts a decent amount of time. Looks natural. The consistency of the product is more on the watery side. I'm guessing that's because it's a lighter foundation. It blends easily. I have used both a flat top kabuki brush and my hands. I prefer my hands with this foundation. I do set with powder in my t-zone where I do get slightly oily. I haven't used my porefessionals primer with this foundation just yet and I like the results.
****EDIT**** I should have waited longer to write this review. It started to make my face look to greasy and the product didn't wear well. My husband even commented on how bad it looked.
So this is my second foundation that I've ever bought. The mousse one from Maybelline did not work for me at all and I barely wear makeup. Compared to the mousse one, the smell is wonderful. It's not too bothersome for me and it's light. The mousse was nothing like that.
I do have oily-combination skin, however, I also purchased the pressed powder. I like that the 240 fits me PERFECTLY. Not too much coverage, which I like because it looks natural on me and some people don't even notice I have makeup on!
I love the packaging because it's adorable and simple. I wish it would have a pump to help me with applying it on.
Other than that, I love the foundation.
for you with oily skin you will not like this, you have no make up on at the end of the day. nit was just horrible
It's very watery and has light-medium coverage. For a more casual foundation, this is good. For oilier people, you will definitely need a powder for this. I like it because it doesn't get too cakey, and I don't really need a lot of coverage. It doesn't stay 24 hours or anything, but it is lightweight and evens out your skin tone.
This foundation made my face oily and slick. Even though I touched up during the day, I would still see a greasy film over my forehead. Also this foundation tends to be on the yellow side which makes my face too ashy. Once again, Maybelline will never create a foundation for red undertones. I give up.
I like this foundation, but I find it makes my skin super oily after awhile AND it doesn't last on my skin. I put it on before school and as soon as third class ends, (about nine AM) it's cakey looking and oily.
this product is amazing.... for me it gives a light to medium coverage.... i had a little bit of touble in finding my actual colour...... but at the moment my colour is #230...
it gives a glow to the ... it wasn't cakey... as some foundations look n feel.... it has an light feeling on the face.. it stays for quite a while... the price is also affortable...
the con is that... i have pimple marks.. so it didn't cover that quite well... i have to appy second layer on my cheeks... but still it isn't cakey n heavy...
it blends quite easly when i apply it after i use an moisturising cream on the face... love this product.. <#
This foundation feels great on dry skin. It gives medium coverage and a nice satin finish. It's easy to blend and it doesn't look cakey. It stays well for a solid 6-7 hours on me.
The reason why I'm giving this 3 lippies is the color range, the packaging and the heavy floral fragrance. I would really deal with those two last flaws if it weren't so darn pink. I use shade 115 and even though the intensity is right it's just too pink and I don't have yellow skin! If I choose another shade than it's just too dark.
The only thing that's really great in the fit me range is the concealer.
Have this in shade 120.
What I like
- Shade 120 is PERFECT for my skin.
-The formula finish is really nice. A bit dewy (though this is probably not good for oily skin.)
- Has SPF 18. SPF is always a plus.
- The formula is very runny but silky and easy to blend.
What I don't like
-Not full coverage. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being no coverage, 5 being medium coverage and 10 being full coverage: I would rate this a 4. I can still see dark spots through the foundation. Definitely needs to be paired with concealer. Thankfully, Maybelline Fit me Concealer in Light 10 is awesome at fixing this.
- I didn't find it to be very buildable and any attempt to try to build made my skin feel really heavy.
-There is a very good chance your skin will break out from this. This foundation is not oil-free or non-comedogenic. I have acne prone sensitive skin. So far after using this for a week, I have not broken out but I have taken care to wash my face twice a day as opposed to my usual once a day. I won't come back and take off lippies if I do, since I am well aware of the risk of this foundation.
- No pump. I prefer blending foundation with my fingers and this foundation could use a pump. The formula is very runny and the cap to the bottle always ends up a mess.
- It doesn't last the entire day. By the time I leave college(and I stay there for 3-5 hours each day), it almost seems as if the product is fading.
Despite all of that, I do like this foundation but I do find it needs to be used with primer, concealer, and powder to reach it's full potential. The color 120 is perfect for my skin and I always have trouble finding a shade that is not too light but also not too dark for me. If I finish the bottle and don't end up breaking out, I might purchase again.
This is the only foundation I have ever repurchased and would have to be my HG foundation! I love the coverage and when primed and set correctly it lasts all day.
