I have this eyeliner in Blackest Black, and it does live up to the name! The brush it comes with is fabulous, does a great job at lining, and the consistency of the liner is very smooth. However, after a 7 hour day at school I come home and its smudged everywhere! *sigh* I guess it was too good to be true. My quest for a non-smudging eyeliner continues!
Wonderful eyeliner. It doesn't smudge, stays all day even in the waterline and the brush is just perfect!
I have both the black and brown colours - and love them.
They stay all day, apply easily - and are great value.
I'd hoped that the brown would be a little darker, in hindsight I prefer a dark brown eyeliner, but I'll be keeping these in my makeup bag forever! Good for on the waterline too - and they are waterproof - LOVE THEM. Totally recommend!
My number one go to for a gel. honestly lasted me months of use without drying out. The brush stayed in great shape! I hardly use this much anymore now that I've switched to Physicians Formula liquid pen, but if i want a matte look, this is perfect.
My eyelids are very oily and this product has worked wonders for me. I almost gave up on wearing eyeliner until I found this product. It doesn't smudge, it lasts all day, it's dark and does not fade, it applies smoothly and looks beautiful! Idk what else more you'd want from an eyeliner. I never use any other liner except this one. It's my absolute favorite and MUST HAVE in my makeup bag.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE
I love a good gel liner. They are easy to work with, smudge proof, crease proof... get yourself a nice brush and wing away.
Considering my love for a black liner, I was super excited to see the new maybelline gel liner.... and it came with a brush !!!! (i am a brush hoarder - so this was <3 even before i used it)
I should have not got my hopes too high.
The formula is smooth, creamy and has not dried out on me (have it since 2 months now) .
The liner goes on black and crisp - but as it dries it becomes a lighter black. I have super oily eyelids and this thing smudges and goes everywhere - eyelids, down my face ..... urgh.
I use it with a primer and an eye shadow (to set) and that helps with the smudging but still no staying power.
this reminds me of the bobbi brown liners - they do the same thing on me. But I dont think Maybelline has as many colors as BB.
on a side note - I love the brush. it is a small synthetic brush and for a freebie , it is good. I have used it as a lip brush too. washes well too.
my hunt continuous ...

I bought this eyeliner gel with high hopes. Like most eyeliners I use on my oily eyelids, it just smudged right off leaving a transfer line above my crease. I even used it with urban decay primer. I would not use this again. I can't stand eyeliner that doesn't stay in place.
I'm an eyeliner girl and I love this product. Its a bit overly price but it lasts for a LONG time. I had it for about 7 months n I'm still not even half way done the product.
Its easy apply, and doesn't leave smudges.
However, I'm not to sure if its the best eyeliner to apply underneath your eye because over time it does same to fade a bit. but for your upper lid its perfect.
I tried this product out and i liked it. I didn't love it but i liked it. The gel goes on really smooth and pretty dark. The brush is okay. It gets really clumped up with eyeliner fast and it gets stiff and unworkable fast too. It is kinda hard to do a cat eye with this eyeliner but it is possible. I have really round eyes so its a little harder for me. Personally i prefer liquid over this because its just so much better to work with.
I am all about finding good drugstore makeup. I do like this gel eyeliner, but I decided to do a side-by-side comparison of this product in Onyx, as compared to Annabelle's Smudge Paint in Tar.
Both cost about the same (CDN$12), and both promise very long wear. I put one on each eye. I went about my day, at night I did a workout, had a shower, washed my face (leaving the liner on) and went to bed.
The next morning, I can see a clear difference between the two. The Annabelle Smudge Paint is definitely the winner. It is still crisp and dark black, whereas the Eyestudio liner has smudged and faded considerably.
So if you are looking to choose between these drugstore products, the Eyestudio one is good, but the Annabelle is the better bet. Love them both, though.
