I'm joining the ravers with this one. I usually recommend Shu's hard pencil in Seal Brown to everyone, but now I'm a bigger fan of Anastasia's Brow Powder Duo. Why? Ease of use combined with a more believable/real look.
My hair is mostly silver: Ash Blonde duo is perfect. The tester set-up at Sephora says w/grey hair use Medium Ash. No way. There is warmth in that one, so it wouldn't work w/grey hair! Big mistake on their part. There is no warmth in Ash Blonde - it's a cool-toned taupe duo - ideal for silver/grey hair.
Also, no need to buy Anastasia angled brush if you have Ecotools Angled liner brush; it's an absolute dupe - even the SA at Sephora looked at my Eco angled liner & said, "Don't buy the Anastasia brush - the one you have is the same thing!"
I followed the directions & lightly filled in brows w/darker shade, then went over entire brow w/lighter shade. So lovely!
Note - there is wax mixed in w/the powder, so it stays put and does not wear off/wipe off during the day! Also - keep in mind that the powder shows up on your skin much darker than how they appear in the pan. You just have to *touch* the brush to the powder - really! Do not rub it against the powder or you'll get WAY too much on the brush. The color is extremely concentrated.
I bought the darkest powder because I'm asian with black hair. This color was a bit too warm to look natural on me. I used it for a while but I don't really care for it.
I visited the Laura Mercier counter and explained that I can't find a brow powder I like because everything looks too harsh and dark. They recommended that I try one of the powders for blonde hair and it did look better. But after a while I didn't care for it so I went back to the Anastasia brow powder and used the lighter color. It's still a bit dark but I like that the way it goes on and stays put.
So I was a big fan of Smashbox brow tech for years. Never used anything else. But I wanted to try something new and that looked more natural. I read the reviews and watched the videos are on this and decided to try it. And so glad I did! I bought the one for brunette hair and wow! It looks so natural and easy to apply. And I can't believe how well it wears without even using a wax to set it! HG item!
I have been waiting quite awhile to purchase this, but finally took the plunge. I wish I hadn't waited so long! The cheap brow powders I have been using up to this are nothing compared to Anastasia's. It makes my brows look very natural and the color is a perfect match. I will buy this again and again.
I waited a long time to buy this because I just didn't believe this brow powder could be better than any of the others I've tried. In the past, the brow products I've used are Smashbox Brow Tech, Benefit Brow Zings, Clinique Brow Shaper, Chanel Sculpting Brow Pencil, and NYC Brow Powder. Anastasia Brow Powder is by far the best! The color is perfect and the finished look is extremely natural. Also, the powder seems to go on effortlessly without needing much blending. I love it and will never use another brow powder again!
I first got this sample from sephora, and after trying it on for a few day, i went out and buy it. Because the color fits perfectly and looks really natural!! Now I do get to see my eyebrow in the pictures without looking fake. I haved tried other brands such as Shideido and Dior, but they are either too brow or black, but with this, the darkest color also fit with the asian dark hair,
Instantaneous HG status. They are not kidding when they say the color matches perfectly, they have so many different shades. Unlike most brow fillers that are too *brown* or too *black*, this is the perfect ashy shade that brow hairs really are. You can't even tell I have filled mine in, it just looks subtly enhanced and oh so natural. The combining of two shades is genius bc I just swipe my brush across both. I also love the compact ~it's so tiny and well constructed and there's a mirror! Don't bother with the expensive kits they sell (brow gel = clear mascara, spoolie should cost you $1, stencils are useless) and get this by itself.
UPDATE: Perfect color match - yes, but does not stay on well where brows are sparse. I lost a couple strategic hairs on my left brow and Anastasia looked great when I first put it on but wore off quickly - leaving me with a hole! I've since moved on to MUFE brow corrector which stays on much better.
This is the by far the best brow powder ever! I don't even know how many brow products I have bought. I have been using the bare minerals in brunette for ever and then I read so many good reviews about anastasia that I decided to give it a try....immediately I saw how much more natural looking it was then the BM. It was 22 dollars...a little pricey but well worth it...this is what I will use for the rest of my life...that's how much I love it. The packaging is adorable...and it's so easy to put in your purse. The way I use it is that I use the lighter shade to fill in the beginning of my brow up until the arch...I do that to both brows and then I use the darker color to fill in the rest and go over the beginning of my brows with a light touch...they look so natural and great!
I love this stuff! I have kind of thin/sparse eyebrows and hated to use pencils since I could never get it to look natural. I came across this at Ulta one day and they suggested to me to get a shade lighter. It totally looks natural and just give my eyebrows a bit of definition . Don't bother with her eyebrow brush. Go get the Bobbi Brown brush for eyebrows. It's fantastic. I've been using this little pot for over a year now and have more than enough for another year.
I love this brow powder!!! it's the best stuff ever and so worth the price! I have brown eyes and very liight brows...this makes them look so natural and gives them that perfect feathered look...PERFECTION!!!
