I'm not a fan of this product. I usually stick with a light to medium coverage foundation with a natural finish. This is full coverage foundation for sure and I didn't think it looked very natural. My skin is pretty dry, so finding a foundation that doesn't look too heavy can be hard. I applied this with a beauty blender and it didn't help soften the appearance of this foundation. I had a difficult time finding a shade that would match, and while CG claims to be able to make a match from their site, this isnt true. They have a very limited number of matches/dupes. If you are looking for an inexpensive full coverage foundation, than this is your product.
I personally had mixed feelings about this product, for the following pros and cons.
* It has amazing staying power, it last all day!
* The coverage is really good, I don't have to apply any concealer.
* The colour range is terrible, none of them match my skin tone
* It is drying and clings to dry patches and hair folicles
* It feels gross on my skin
* It does not have the primer power it claims to have, it settles into my pores.
* The smell is awful
Overall, i would not buy this again and will only wear it when I absolutely feel like I need it, which isn't often.
Extremely disappointed with this product. I had high hopes when I bought it due to the earlier reviews raving about how nice it was for combination/oily skin, but sadly it did not work for mine. It did not really even out my skin as well as I had hoped but rather clung to every dry flake and emphasized imperfections like pores and pimples. It did, however, last me 6-7 hours before I needed to blot, but at this point it began melting into nasty blotches.
Overall, I really wanted to like this because I love the packaging and lasting power but I can't get over the fact that it magnified my dry patches and basically every other imperfection.
After wearing this foundation for a week, I can safely say that it does not break me out, and I have the most acne-prone, clog-prone skin known to man. This product is everything I wanted Revlon Colorstay to be. It has medium coverage that is quite buildable to full with a matte finish. It lasts all day on my skin and looks beautiful, not cakey at all. I apply it with my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush and then smooth it lightly with my fingers and it looks flawless. It feels lightweight and helps control oil nicely. This is a serious contender for HG status, I definitely recommend it to those with oily skin.
I bought mine at Target for $9.49, For me this product was just ok. I'm 37 years old with normal skin type love liquid foundation with satin finished, light to medium coverage, and will last on me for 8-12 hours. This foundation dry my skin out a little and fall in pore and fine line that would make me even more older. It also oxidize on my skin. The reason that I give this foundation 3 stars due to it does last on me for 8 hours with out powder over it. I will not buy this foundation again and have to trash it because don't know any one that used it. Right now my favorite still lancome Teint Idole 24 hours foundation and Chanel vitalumiere aqua.
I loved this foundation! Notice the d in loved? It made me break out badly :( even after suspecting it was breaking me out, I continued to wear it because I loved it.
I usually adore Cover Girl foundations and this one started out as a keeper...but after 5 days straight of wearing it, I kept noticing it wearing off in certain places, as well as patchiness. I'm dry/combo skinned, although less dry in summer. I tried this on a well moisturized face, with and without primer. And I always had the patchiness around my nose and upper lip, no matter what.
That being said, the coverage on my cheeks was lovely, the shade match was lovely (Classic Ivory for my NC20 skin), and I loved how it felt on my face.
I returned it though. For $12.99 I could do without the patchiness. No repurchase.
This was not a good foundation for me; I have combination skin and after applying this on my face, I looked ten years older. It made me look as though I had a gray complexion with lots of wrinkles ( both of which I don't have). I was hoping it would look better as the day went on, but, it only got worse. Not only did it change colour, it looked like I had melted Silly Putty on my face. Never again!
After doing A LOT of research on this foundation, I decided that it was worth a shot. First off let me say that I have very sensitive/combo skin, and this product worked, for ONE of those issues - controlling my tzone while not being completely drying on the rest of my face. However, after not even a full day of wearing this my skin did not react well. I woke up with redness and a few itchy bumps around my face, significantly worse than before I tested it out. I wish I could tell you I was surprised, but with skin like mine...... its basically an "expect the worst but hope for the best" situation whenever I test out new makeup.
Overall i'd recommend this product for those with combo/oily skin, as it does do an amazing job at controlling shine - not greasy at all, and a powder-like finish. But as for those who have overly sensitive skin like mine, i'd say pass (unless you're the gamble-on-your-skin type) then best of luck goes to you!
The search for my hg foundation continuesss
I am proud of Covergirl for making a foundation that doesn't break my face out, doesn't look terrible on me, and lasts! Great coverage and finish. I bought this back before I got some sun this summer, and I learned that this product oxidizes. I didn't notice it indoors under artificial light, but the minute I looked in the mirror in my car, my face was orange! So I know next time to go a shade lighter!
