Love Essie polishes...but cannot say the same about this one.
The color is lovely but the texture is HORRIBLE...it is so gooey I cannot even begin to describe what a mess it is to apply and not get streaky globs all over...will not buy again.
About two months ago, I randomly got a craving for a mint colored pedicure, and this was the polish that I ended up settling on. Unlike other reviewers, I didn't have any problems applying it and it dried fast enough for my tastes (full disclosure though, I was playing video games afterwards so time flew by, but when I remembered to check my toes it had dried already). As for the color, it's perfect! A lovely matte mint green that dries to a nice, smooth shine that lasted without chipping for two weeks straight!. I love Essie polishes for their quality, and this one is no exception.
Cute fun color for a summer mani. Looks much better in person than in pictures. This polish is very thick and hard to apply. It also took over 2 days to fully dry.
Mint Candy Apple is a beautiful green/blue color reminiscent of turquoise waters in Miami or Korean celadon pottery. I wasn't sure if I'd like this color when I swatched it at the store, but after application, it looks great. I use this mainly for a toe color.
The first layer does go on a bit streaky, but after the 2nd coat, it's good to go. It dries super fast too. Was dry within 30 minutes and I can go about my daily life. Great color for the summer and good alternative to pinks, whites (which I like a lot on tan skin) and my go-to city girl color, black.
Looks great for a retro look or beach sun look.
I absolutely loved the colour of this nail polish in the bottle, and once you have 2 coats on it looks GREAT.
it was SUPER difficult for me to apply this nail polish! it's streaky on the first coat, and totally THICK on the second coat, you have to be very careful.
i wouldnt buy this again because i think that there are products out there that are similar in colour AND are less of a hassle to apply.
[UPDATE:] I removed one lippie. The wear on this is terrible! I did my nails about a day and a half ago. Since then, I have gotten sick and have just been laying in bed. Ie- doing NOTHING with my hands. The polish chipped and I have tip wear. From doing practically nothing. That's not okay with me, and this polish will probably go up on my swap list at some point.
I'm surprised this has so many positive reviews. I'll start by saying that yes, the color is gorgeous. But the application broke this product for me, and I will probably never repurchase it. This is the most stupid thick nail polish I've used in my life. Even 5 drops of nail polish thinner didn't help. I love the way it looks, but I'll probably never reach for it because putting it on is such a pain. How sad.
Compared to other Essie polishes I found this one a little streaky... but ohhh man its worth it! After a top coat it looked nearly flawless and its beautiful! It is also very wearable. The online pics don't do it justice!!! Just get it, its amazing!
This is the perfect minty green that I've been looking for. I have, or have researched similar shades, but none of them have achieved this level of colour-perfection, most other colours were either too dark blue, or too green. This shade is the perfect blend of lightness and a minty green colour that is really refreshing to look at, but it's not too pastel or pastey looking. I loved the application. The first coat was streaky and I feared that this would be one of those 3-coaters to achieve an even colour, but the second coat came on fundamentally different than the first one, it evened everything out and gave me a smooth and opaque coat of colour.
Side note: for those trying to find this shade on Ebay, be careful. I bought from a seller with a few hundred positive reviews and 2 negative ones, and the seller never sent the item. I was only refunded after a few ignored messages and threat to open a dispute... Ended up grabbing this at a beauty supply store and I'm very happy that I finally found it!
Gotten so many compliments on it! :)
The way to apply it with no streaking: one thin coat, then a second thicker coat.
Wasn't sure about this one but I decided to give it a try. This is not the kind of colour I normally wear but it's really fun and the more I wear it the more I love it. It's surprisingly opaque which I was so happy about but I found the formula VERY thick, so it was a bit more difficult to apply than I am used to. Nice shine to it and no streaks after 2 coats. I find that any slight chipping or imperfection is very noticeable with this colour. I love that a light shade can be so bold, I got a lot of compliments on this, but my SO hates it, says it's the ugliest polish he has ever seen, that doesn't seem to stop me from wearing it though. Would repurchase.
