Funny... I feel like there's a lot of hype around this eyeshadow-color and personally... I find it looks nice in the jar and nice swatched but on the eye... don't know. Not for me somehow.

Don't think it's the perfect crease color. No.

I got a cheap eyeshadow from a German natural skincare brand (called "alverde: baked eyeshadow" in mauve) and it's almost exactly the same color but looks sooooo much better on the lid for some reason.

Satin Taupe is not a must-have for me. Generally overrated in my opinion.

Take care you choose colors that match YOU PERSONALLY instead of buying a hyped product just for the hype (like I did with satin taupe 2 years ago ;)). Wasn't worth it, after all.

I actually hated this shadow when I first purchased it. (this was my first Mac eyeshadow ever). I forgot about it and then while cleaning my makeup stash, I decided to give this another try. This color is Frickin gorgeous!!!! Im nc30-35 with brown eyes and this color really makes my eyes pop. I love wearing this as an all over Lid color with either Mac's soft brown blended in the crease or any neutral brown shade in the crease. It really gives you a subtle smokey eye that is so easy to apply plus it's not too much for daytime. Def would repurchase this!

Useful enough shade for everyday wear. However, can get a bit muddy looking and so a tad dull. For a more exciting, complex taupe you might try Laura Mercier's Topaz or, better still, LM's Sable.

My HG for smokey eyes. Like others have said, it is a silvery-lavender shade on my yellow under toned skin. I use it with my clinque cream black honey eyeliner and its easy to blend. I think this shade works well for people with dark features.

I brought this on the recommendation of this as being "a makeup kit staple suitable for everyone". But NO. On me its a greyish dirty purplish bruise color and it makes my my under-eye circles look REALLY bad (its the same color). If I wanted to look very ill, tired, and sporting a couple of fading eye bruises then this would be the eye shadow for it. It fades on me and the bruised look increases when it fades. So its not for my very fair warm gold skin and blue-green eyes. So maybe only buy it if you have cool skin tones and tanned skin!! Also I have noticed that even though it swatches beautifully, when people actually wear this shade it usually looks patchy not well blended. I don't think it looks very good on that many people based on what I've seen. Its a bit dull.

This is my HG eyeshadow. I wear this everyday to work with a brown or bronze eyeliner and it looks so pretty and simple. I love it I buy it over and over and over again LOL.

This is by far my favorite neutral shadow that I own. Usually, browns don't do much for my eyes, but this one really makes them sparkle and pop, like no other. This is a taupe (a color that isn't meant for my cool toned skin because usually there's too much yellow in it), but a taupe that has purple (by far the best color for my eyes) undertones in it, that many people mistake it for a purple eye shadow, rather than a brown. It's a color that I use on my lid and on the crease. When I wear it on my lid, I don't need any other colors to go with it because the eye shadow is bold enough, but also subtle enough, that I could wear it to a job interview or as a soft day look. When I wear it on my crease, it can work with many different neutral shadows, but it can also be worn with brighter colorful shadows, without looking out of place. The pigmentation is awesome because just one coat is enough to make my eyes noticeable. Plus, it blends so easily that I don't need to spend too much time on my makeup, if I'm in a rush. It's a very versatile shadow and I'm glad that I picked it out. It's definitely worth the money because you're getting plenty of shadow to work with, so it'll last a long period of time. I haven't found another shade from other brands that match this shadow, so I'll definitely be repurchasing this baby. I'd recommend it for people with cool tone skin and also for any eye color as well. It'll look different on any eye color, but if anything, it'll bring out the subtleties in an eye color, such as flecks that usually go unnoticed to the naked eye, such as bringing out the yellow and green flecks in my eyes. So, give this one a try. You won't be disappointed.

Satin Taupe is one of my must-have products. It's easy-to-use, very pretty and has a great formula.
