Overall I think this is a good and safe facial cleanser in between my visits to my dermatologist. I typically use Neutrogena or my doctor's brand, however when money is short I like to use this brand. It works well and gets make-up off, my face is clean but sometimes a bit tight here and there. So definitely use a good light moisturizer. All in all it gets the job done.
I bought this a couple months ago and I wish I would have discovered it years ago! It's the best thing I've done to my skin. I have acne prone skin and since using this its cleared up like 90%. I've had acne since I was 15 (now 18 going on 19) and this cleanser combined with my Clarisonic Mia 2 is a skin blessing for my skin. I will always use this. In the morning I use it gently with my hands alone and at night I use a makeup removing wipe, and use it with my Clarisonic. My skin has been so good recently.
Unfortunately for me, Cetaphil was a fail. There was a burning, stinging sensation upon contact when washing, and after a few days use, I had eczema and red patches all over my face. It also dried out my face. I would not say that my skin is super sensitive (as I can use retinoids no problem) but it is finicky. Switched over to Cerave cleanser and everything is fine now. Cetaphil does have some harsh ingredients, like SLS, I should have looked more carefully before buying it. If you are looking for a gentle cream cleanser, Cerave is a bit more expensive but has better ingredients.
This is one of the few gentler face cleansers that I actually like. It's effective and doesn't have a bunch of unnecessary gunk in it. I would continue using this if I hadn't switched to the oil-method & baking soda. A great choice for someone just looking for a non-irritating, simple cleanser! I would still recommend a weekly exfoliator, though. continued >>
I live in Europe and you can't really get it anywere, but I searched on ebay and found it. I payed what is 21 $ for the 236 ml. bottle!! So I had really big expentations on this product. And now that I have tried it, it really is! I used clinique before and that is better, because is cleans the skin better. I wish this cleanser cleanses a little more acne, redness and stuff. But what I do like about it is that it is moistruzing! I have combinated-dry skin. Sometimes I can get breakouts in my t-zone, but my cheeks are really dry. With a toner/tonic after using this, works best for me! I do have sensitive skin, and this don't break me out which other products have done on me. BUT, i was shocked when I saw the ingridients in this. It is filled with all types of parabens, alcohol, sulfat sodium, etc. That is not good, but well.. It doesn't break me out.
Gave this a 2, because the face wash was mediocre for me. No lather, you don't need water either. The directions says to apply it to the face, massage, and wipe off with a cloth or towel. You can use water, but that's after you've applied it to the face. I find this very strange, because almost every night I take off my make up with olive oil, and using an oily make up remover WITH this cleanser is just... gross. Even if I take off the olive oil, I don't feel that the cleanser fully cleanses my face. After using this for 3 days my face got little bumps in my T-zone, and I never get any bad reactions from "gentle" facial cleansers. If I didn't get bumps, I would give it a 3 because it's a whatever face wash. Like how it added extra moisture but hey that's what moisturizer is for. I'm sure this works wonders on other people, but not so much for me.
This cleanser did nothing for my acne. It also didn't remove all of my stubborn eye makeup (although it did remove my mineral foundation fairly well). BUT it doesn't claim to do these things either.
I think this product is great for what it is - a gentle daily cleanser. The consistency is watery. It does not lather, but its not meant to.
I like to use this during the winter in the mornings or in the evenings if I did not wear makeup that day. Its also nice when my face needs a break from the harsher products.
I would really recommend this for those with sensitive and/or dry skin.

Almost every dermatologist I've been to, or my friends have gone to recommend this product since it works so well on acne prone/sensitive skin (non-comedogenic, non-irritating, hypoallergenic). It's totally gentle and moisturizers while cleansing the face. It removes excess oil and controls shiny faces... Sometimes. The formula doesn't work well removing makeup but it does cleanse my face well without any harshness. Everyone's skin IS different but I do recommend this product for people with super sensitive skin, like myself.

I keep coming back to this..Because it's the only cleanser that I haven't reacted badly to. I have really sensitive skin and every cleanser makes me itchy or makes me red. However, I feel like this doesn't actually cleanse my skin. It kind of feels like it's lotion. It doesn't lather. I don't get what all the hype around this product is..I wouldn't recommend this unless you're super sensitive to products and can't find anything else. This has been my LAST RESORT, and only last resort.

I got this for my acne skin. it didn't irritate my skin but found it didn't remove my make up Tec. I have used it on very very broken angry skin after using benzoyl peroxide and it was great but it's not sufficient for removing make up. it's also expensive in UK about £10 I find using scene goalless wash for oily skin much better.
