It's basically a miracle in a jar. Like, seriously. No wonder it's the most widespread moisturizer ever.
UPDATE: I've been using this on my horribly chapped and cracked lips every night, and they've become soft, plump, and smooth. Even Epicuren didn't yield such dramatic results.

awsomeness! I suffer from eczema on my hands due to the work i do, so at times I'm FORSED to put this on my hands at night and into cotton gloves for soft moisturized hands in the morning. Also works to repel hair dye from your ears or anywhere your afraid will dye your skin.

Must have in your home!

Wow. I am amazed at this stuff. I've always had it in my house, but I just used it for my lips. I have eczema and once in a while ill get a patch on my face and it itches like CRAZY. One night, I just couldnt take it and I slapped some on. It didn't stop the itching completely but it definitely calmed it. I continued to use it and i think its an awesome moisturizer that does not break out my sensitive eczema skin. I do not put this on my forehead or chin though, just because I'm the most sensitive there so I haven't been brave enough to put it there yet. Love love love it.

For some reason I grew up with no petroleum jelly... O_o And I have dry skin. I would try all kinds of lotions around the house - Jergens, Vaseline brand lotion, Bath and Body Works body cream... all sorts of stuff.
And then I heard about all the uses of petroleum jelly. So of course I went to the store and bought a huge tub for $2.34 and since then, I have always loved this stuff.
Although I don't use it everyday on my legs to see if it helps with my mild case of keratosis pilaris (it moisturizes them well, though), it definitely does great work on my face.
I'm not a very pimple-prone person, but I definitely get pimples every few weeks, even the huge, painful red ones. I notice petroleum jelly doesn't make them worse at all. Now, it doesn't heal them, from what I see, but it doesn't make them worse. This stuff soothes the skin, so it doesn't aggravate your pimples/acne at all. :)
OH! And I almost forgot... I mix it with vanilla and mini chocolate chips and melt them together to make the best lip gloss ever. It's so creamy and nice. It also adds a nice warm touch to my cool lip glosses. It's great in hair, too. I swipe the tub twice with my fingers, rub them together to make the jelly warm and smooth, and run it through the ends of my hair, and rub the rest into the mid-shaft. It reduces frizz and it's not greasy at all. You'll only get greasy hair if you put it on your roots or if you put a lot of jelly (which most practical people wouldn't do) in your hair.

EDIT: GAH! I forgot something else... possibly one of it's best uses...
It's a great clear mascara and holds curls extremely well on the lashes. I curl my lashes and put a bit of this on with my fingers and it separates them so nicely so they look all defined, and makes them look way longer and thicker. :) As for the growing lashes aspect, I haven't been too dedicated with that, so I can't say whether or not it grows my lashes.

While I'm still soaking wet after a shower, I put this on my legs, arms, and neck. It is the only thing that works on my legs in the winter time. Meanwhile, my neck looks five years younger since I started using plain old vaseline. Hundred dollar neck creams did nothing, but a few pennies worth of vaseline took away the crepiness.

This product is versatile, moisturizing and cheap, what's there not to love about it? I use it for my hands, feet, lips, and when I get cuts and scrapes. And one jar lasts me years! I especially love this when I travel, this is a godsend in cold, dry airplane climate, I slather my hands with this and it prevents them from looking wrinkled and shriveled at the end of long 12-hour flights. The best part is, the jelly's content has been certified safe and non-toxic, so this is a miracle salve for me!

So what if it's not a "moisturizer" - moisturizers in and of themselves don't prevent wrinkles, they just keep skin conditioned. If petroleum is a "barrier" to protect the skin, isn't that working as an antioxidant? idk. Anyway, we knew a woman in her 50s who had the most beautiful, glowing, skin - and not a wrinkle in sight. We pressed her for her beauty secret. She said she'd been slathering Vaseline all over her face at night for YEARS. Her husband was present during the conversation and verified that she was telling the truth and laughed about how she cakes it on EVERY night.

I LUUVVV THIS STUFF. Amazing shit. makes my lashes strong and i notice a big difference in how many less lashes would shed. Great for eyebrows and AMAZING for lips . makes them soo soft and shiny. and not goppy and drying like some stickey lipglosses. Amazing for knees and craked feet. Every one should have this stuff !
