I LOVE THIS FOUNDATION. I HAVE TRIED MANY OF THE OTHER POWDERS OR LIQUID FOUNDATIONS FROM COVERGIRL AND I DIDN'T LIKE THEM, THEY MADE ME BREAKOUT, AND SOME OF THEM WERE DIFFERENT COLORS. MY SHADE IS SOFY HONEY( WHICH IS EQUAL TO NC 30-35) BUT WHEN I BOUGHT CLEAN PRESSED POWDER IN SOFT HONEY IT WAS WAYYY TO DARK. ANYWAY. THIS POWDERS COVERAGE LAST A LONG TIME IT DOESN'T CHANGE COLORS, AND IT CONTROLS OIL WELL. I ONLY BLOT 1-2 TIMES A DAY. IT'S VERY HUMID HERE IN HAWAII AND THIS IS THE ONLY POWDER THAT DOENS'T LOOK/FEEL LIKE IT'S MELTING OFF MY FACE OR SETTLING INTO MY PORES WHEN IT'S HOT.
I loved this product. I thought I had found my HG here. The color was perfect, the application perfect (although I too wish the sponge was separate), it lasted on my oily skin without looking gross after awhile, the ability to apply a little or a lot without looking cakey was wonderful, but alas, it made me break out big time which makes me sad and jealous of anyone else who gets to wear it. I broke out into small pimples in the areas underneath the cheekbones (where I never do) and on my forehead, which is very bizarre because it is not a heavy product. But by the end of the day, the bumps would be forming. This drives me nuts because I can wear CG's Cream to Powder foundation all day, forget to wash my face, sleep in it, and wake up with no breakouts and it is a waaayy heavier product. Whatever. To all the girls out there who can wear this pimple free, I say you are super lucky!!
This stuff sucks! It dries your skin out and covers nothing on your face at all! I hate it.
Pros: Cheap, easy to find, perfect color match for me, i like the texture and light coverage
Cons: Very pore clogging for me!!, comes with one sponge (not very hygenic u have to buy refills), doesn't wear well (i have to reapply ALOT, albeit I do have oily skin), when u reach the bottom of the pan and have about 1/3 left the product is very likely to break up and turn into LOOSE powder creating a huge mess(trust me this will happen I have used this for a long time)
I have used this for many years because of my ignorance but now that I found MUA, I am in the search for some real quality MU.
I have normal/ oily combo skin with yellow tones. my shade reference is NC35. COLOR: Covergirl is really terrible in this because most of the shades are too pink. I got classic beige and i used it on my loreal ideal balance in beige. it was ok but i thought i made me look a little pinker. if i wear it alone, it makes my skin pinky/orange if i start to become oily. COVERAGE: i loved the coverage, hence the rating of three lippies. I liked how it gave a smooth finish, like it feels velvety to the touch and it kept the oil at bay in a humid environment. i only had to blot a few times, even with foundation layered below it. VERDICT: i wont repurchase because of the shades CG provides. Until they realize that there are yellow toned gals that need yellow shades for make-up, then i will be sticking to Loreal.
As I love to have a very pale face, this powder is great. I have it in natural ivory, and as long as I don't use the sponge to apply it, it blends in with the rest of my makeup. Just have to be careful not to put on too much, or else it looks unnatural.
I love the packaging!! looks very elegant :) shiney black square shaped compact. It took me some time to figure out how to close the darn thing tho when i opened the package :P This is a good setting powder or foundation for days when you want LIGHT coverage!!..this is pretty sheer... but i like to use this to set either cream or liquid foundations.. works great!! and caused NO breakouts!!
UPDATE: this is WAY TOO light i find now. not a repurchase
This is the foundation that I keep coming back to. I find that I use quite a bit to get the coverage that I need, but once it's on, it's ON. My face breaks out VERY easily and this is the only thing I have used that doesn't make my face look like an oil slick after an hour. I have used Colorstay (love it-but too heavy), TruBlend (okay, but way too oily and breaks out my face like nothing else), and many many others-- but I ALWAYS come back to this. It's cheap, quick to apply, and doesn't look like 1984 mask-y makeup with powder. I hate that! The only problem is that I find I use it up too fast. Probably because I like to break up the powder into loose form. Trust me, if you try that, you will be a convert, too! Now, if Cover Girl would only make a large LOOSE version, I would be set for life!
LOVE the stuff!
There's nothing extremely wrong with this product i find. It's not the easiest to apply, and it doesn't have the most coverage but it does match my skintone which is why i would buy it again.
Although i don't see why the colour on the packaging is much darker then the actual product itself.
My grandma uses this. One word... BORING. Didn't work for me.
