I naturally have quite pigmented lips that are very berry-pink and I was looking for a nude lipstick that would be MLBB - a tad lighter and a little less pink. After having the SA try on about 6-7 different shades, along came Viva Glam II. Ding, Ding, Ding - we have a winner. The colour is a matte mauvy-beigy-nude, more cool toned than warm and not really pink. When I wear it, I only dab it on my lips (don't want to overdo it) and it looks really natural without washing me out. For reference FFF, Brown hair, hazel eyes. My only complaint is that this texture (satin) really emphasizes any dryness on your lips - so make sure they're moist and smooth.
I LOVE this product!
It's a great match for my natural lip tone and the subtle satin finish gives me a "finished" look when I am wearing heavy eye shades without being too much. The lack of frosting or pearl and the nude tones also mean it's good for every day use. I also find I don't need to use a liner with this as it gives good definition without feathering.
I applied this and went for a few drinks assuming I'd need to retouch but it lasted really well and didn't dry my lips.
It's a pinky-nude with a bit of mauve - on me it's similar to Lancome's Mauve Argente Rouge Absolu, one of my all time favourite colours, but without the gold shimmer making it much better for certain looks. Also, it's all money to a good cause.
(I'm a NW5, ash blonde hair, dark blue eyes)
Well, i hated it when i bought it, but i started wearing it and it grew on me. It melted in my purse and i just rebought it tonite...its a good everyday color, it is a little fleshy looking on me and sort of dry, but i like it...washes me out a little, but has a natural look to it. If that makes sense
Ok, I LOVE MAC lipsticks usually. I got this color in a swap, and was so excited to try it. However, it looks SO BAD on me. It looks like I just rubbed Silly Putty all over my lips. Not really the look I was shooting for :( Other than the color, it is still a great lipstick. Nice texture, scent, and lasting power. Just that the most important part for me, the color, looked terrible. For reference, I am a NC20, blue eyes, and coppery red hair.

COLOR:
Muted cool toned dirty pink/beige with a good dose of gray. Makes a very good Angelina mouth. I can easily wear this without a liner. Great for playing up your eyes or if you just need to tone down your lips. Enough color to keep one from being washed out, but can borderline on the dead look for some. I personally prefer a color that isn’t so cool toned.
SIMILAR COLORS:
Guerlain Divinora #480 (a tad warmer shade than VGII imo)
MAC Blankety (a little warmer, lighter and less pink)
People are always wanting that perfect AJ lip color. I looked up her supposed HG (Guerlain Divinora #480, which I believe is now discontinued). Upon reading the reviews, one of the reviewers says that MAC’s VGII is an exact dupe. I knew what VGII looked like on me, pretty, but a little too cool toned and I disliked the formula. The MA suggested I try “Blankety”. Having tried both VGII and Blankety, I found that the two are very similar colors except VGII has a bit more color, it’s more pink and cool toned than Blankety. Also, VGII is a satin, Blankety is a cream.
FORMULA:
VGII is part of MAC’s satin collection, which I personally don’t care for. The concept is good, but I find the formula feeling very dry and the color slips of my lips quickly. Typical MAC vanillaish scent and no taste. Lasting power is kind of confusing: I have medium sized lips and within an hour, the formula slips from the inside of my lips to the outside, where it can last for hours.
PACKAGING:
Love the graphite, bullet shaped packaging with red detailing...I think MAC makes the sturdiest feeling tubes of lipstick I’ve ever held.
No, I will not be buying this lipstick again, not when I have Blankety and Honeylove as my HG pale lips colors. It's not terrible and I would wear it if i hadn't found other colors that I'm devoted to. NC15-25, light green eyes, blondish/brown hair. continued >>

Wow. The perfect pinky-beige lipstick! It's a satin finish and not SO nude that it looks like concealer on my lips, but it's perfect for smoky eyes or a natural look for me. My lips are pale, so this is a great MLBB shade. Love the vanilla scent and lasting power. MMM, hazel eyes, warm brown hair.
At first, the color seemed to wash me out. However, I rediscovered this lipstick and it looks great with gloss on top! Perfect pale nude lip. I always love applying this because it has that distinct vanilla scent. Love this lipstick! I love MAC lipsticks!

I LOVE viva glamV, so i tried this one out, as I am on a "nude kick". Sadly, this lipstick makes me look dead. The texture is too thick and it looks like concealer once applied. Not to mention, it gets stuck in the little creases in my lips and migrates to the corners of my mouth. I REALLY wanted to love this lipstick, but I wouldnt purchase this one ever again :(
I have a love/hate relationship with this lipstick. On some days i pair it with smoky eyes & it looks fine, but on other days paired with natural eyes, it makes me look kinda sick. The colour is difficult to pull off without a lipliner, so i have to pair it with a nude lipliner everytime i use it. Generally, i use lip liners with most lipsticks i use so thats not a problem. It's very matte & can give the lips an appearance of visible cracked lines. Not a good look! My friend wears it & it looks so sexy on her, dunno why it's harder for me to wear. It just sits on my makeup desk nowadays, i even forget about it sometimes. I wouldn't purchase again, i already have one to last me for the reast of my life!! continued >>
